- ggypsy, on 12/27/2008, -5/+801Calvin and Hobbes is timeless, and simultaneously always timely.
- TheWebSwinger, on 12/27/2008, -5/+456If this were actually realistic, Susie would have taken out a "low-interest loan" to get a glass of lemonade.
Damn do I love Calvin and Hobbes. - inactive, on 12/27/2008, -6/+405FYI, this comic was from 15 years ago,
- CoreyTamas, on 12/27/2008, -1/+204What's funny is that cartoon is probably 20 years old, and it's still awesome.
- jackelopeus, on 12/27/2008, -0/+151“The duty of comedy is to correct men by amusing them.”
-Moliere - ninjaturtles1, on 12/27/2008, -6/+155Clearly, too big to fail!
- ScottMcIntyre, on 12/27/2008, -22/+152$15 for a glass of lemonade- now that's inflation for you!
- Avngr75, on 12/27/2008, -0/+125Agreed, Bill Waterson was a ***** genius.
- sanderson325i, on 12/27/2008, -23/+135Hmm...I didn't see Hobbes? Perhaps he was out throwing shoes.
- luvkit, on 12/27/2008, -0/+91When I was a kid I wanted to be both Calvin and Hobbes. Now that I'm old, I realize most of their adventures were satires on cultural issues.
Is it sad that I want to be them more now than then? - Locke23, on 12/27/2008, -0/+77My little brother just inherited my entire Calvin and Hobbes collection, and he's come to me multiple times for an explanation of the comics, which I re-read and laugh on my insides.
- vlmusicalsound, on 12/27/2008, -2/+78Bill Watterson is the greatest cartoonist of all time.
- inactive, on 12/27/2008, -1/+76The current corporate culture of high payed CEOs and shady accounting was established in the 80's
- LightUrple, on 12/27/2008, -1/+73 I was sure it referencing what's going on right now.
- aydoubleyou, on 12/27/2008, -1/+70I kinda remember reading this particular one as a kid. If only I understood the importance then!
- acroyear2, on 12/27/2008, -1/+58Man. I barely got that joke when I was 8.
- shadowtriforce7, on 12/27/2008, -3/+58Haha I swear if I ever get sick of this wondrous comic, it will only be because he told me to drink some lemonade.
- richmomz, on 12/28/2008, -0/+53Which makes it even more genius.
- u8myfoood, on 12/27/2008, -1/+53And that is a summary of the economy for you... kind of sad how so much corruption could be described in a 900 × 628 jpg.
- Zervaman, on 12/27/2008, -3/+47Calvin and Hobbes is still the most awesome comic strip ever!
- Stochio, on 12/27/2008, -2/+46That's irrelevant. You're making an argument of scale, not principle.
- muffinmonk, on 12/28/2008, -1/+43When I was a kid I wanted to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Then my dad said to stop being a ***** dinosaur and get a job.
The point is, never lose your Tyrannosaur. - bigfatphony19, on 12/27/2008, -3/+45Perfect
- badenglishihave, on 12/27/2008, -1/+42This pretty much sums up the business model of The Big 3. Gotta love C&H.
- sleeknerve, on 12/27/2008, -2/+39i still dont know what subsidized means
- linkerm, on 12/28/2008, -0/+36Yes -- and with a variable interest rate :)
- wampalord, on 12/27/2008, -2/+37Failed to mention the lemon swaps
- picpak, on 12/27/2008, -0/+35When I was 8 I just didn't know what subsidized meant.
- ghostie, on 12/28/2008, -7/+41He got buried for making a blatantly obvious, pointless comment. If you think it's funny, Digg it. If everyone who liked it felt the need to comment "liked it" or "funny", the comments section would be overwhelmed by even more ***** than it already is, wouldn't it? So in conclusion, get off my Digg. Thank you.
- 49CentTacos, on 12/28/2008, -7/+34At Bush?
- wrzhydr, on 12/27/2008, -1/+26Calvin and Hobbes is always relevant!
- richmomz, on 12/28/2008, -7/+31What's scary is that this is pretty much a play-by-play of what the "Big 3" automakers did. For years they felt that they were entitled to massive profits despite their ***** business practice, and when consumers told them to go f-themselves, they ran to momma (U.S. Government) for a bailout.
- blackmoth, on 12/27/2008, -0/+24Dugg for hand-me-downs. Bill Watterson is a genius.
- tHr333, on 12/28/2008, -0/+23Was, and still is.
- ScoobyG, on 12/27/2008, -2/+25I was simultaneously laughing and weeping.
- SauceSpot, on 12/27/2008, -0/+21its always been relevant and funny
- supguy, on 12/28/2008, -0/+21Bill "Walton"? Go ***** Yourself.
- OfficeSpacing, on 12/28/2008, -2/+23Insightful.
- richmomz, on 12/28/2008, -1/+2115 to be exact, which makes it even more prescient.
- Wakuko, on 12/28/2008, -0/+20I demand one trillion dollars to bailout bill watterson!
- Spuy767, on 12/28/2008, -1/+20And lemon parties.
- Phalanxia, on 12/27/2008, -15/+34I bet Calvin isn't asking for $700 billion dollars in pocket money though.
- BxBoy, on 12/27/2008, -5/+24The one and only C&H!
- FvckingFvck, on 12/28/2008, -0/+19Calvin and Hobbes is something more than art, it's the greatest comic strip ever, no contest.
- inactive, on 12/27/2008, -3/+21This cartoon makes me hate the bail out even more now......
- pickphlow, on 12/28/2008, -0/+18Calvin and Hobbes should make the front page every day.
- dsmx, on 12/27/2008, -0/+18nope there was a danger of the acid from the lemon getting in his eye and causing the company to have to pay for medical treatment and the inevitable lawsuit for lack of adequate protection for the employee concerned.
- DivisibleByZero, on 12/27/2008, -0/+17The guy from the union who normally does that called in sick.
- richmomz, on 12/28/2008, -1/+18Or take out a low interest loan to finance that tasty glass of lemonade? Better yet, I bet if you hold on to that glass for a couple years and flip it when the price of lemonade goes up to $30 you'll make a fortune!
- richmomz, on 12/28/2008, -0/+16Calvin & Hobbes only gets better as you age.
