- muckemuck, on 09/02/2008, -2/+48Not everybody knows that the D and R conventions used over $60,000,000 in taxpayer money EACH. The media didn't make much of a fuss over that little bit of info. They also didn't say much about the fact that the third party conventions got $0.

The r3VOLution goes on! - nopRT, on 09/02/2008, -3/+22Liberals don't dislike McCain because he's conservative. They dislike him because he's an authoritarian, bloodthirsty warmonger that believes in huge government that is just barely to the left of Fascism and "borrow and spend" economics. Ron Paul is an actual conservative who believes in small government, individual liberty, fiscal responsibility, and non-interventionism. That's where "the right" needs to be. Us "liberals" would love to have actual conservatives on the other side of the aisle. Go Ron!
- mport1, on 09/02/2008, -4/+22Great, can't wait!
- danno1982, on 09/02/2008, -1/+19I'll be there!

- theropingeffect, on 09/02/2008, -2/+17Spread the message!
- shig, on 09/02/2008, -0/+13Ron Paul was an opposition candidate. Forget about Democrats, Republicans, liberals, and conservatives, for just one minute. Neither of those parties, or groups, represent a true opposition to one another, therefore neither group is a "polar opposite" of the other. The whole idea of polarization between Republicans and Democrats is a falsehood, a purposeful deception of facts, used to rally support from their uninformed voters. Ron Paul tapped the disillusioned of both sides, and created a grass roots platform out of it.
That's why you see support for him from every spectrum of political belief, and I suspect, the politically disillusioned population of Digg. They could even act disillusioned, without ever knowing what it is, or how it effects their views. They could even deny it vocally, and be hardcore liberals or conservatives, but in the end, they disagree with their respective party's platform, and support freedom and liberty irrespective of the party they are registered members of.
The liberal Democrats that voted in 2006 to end the war, and restore fiscal responsibility.
The conservative Republicans the voted in 2000 to end nation building, and return to small government.
They are hearing the alarm clock going off in their dreams... the prelude to their awakening... - Stirk, on 09/02/2008, -0/+12What I can't get a grasp on is the support for Ron Paul on Digg. As far as I can see, Digg is liberal (though pro-gun). Digg supports Obama. Ron Paul and Obama are polar opposites. Are there two separate groups here, one silenced while the other speaks?
- laofmoonster, on 09/02/2008, -1/+13The whole point of this rally *is* to use his grassroots movement to advance his beliefs.
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -0/+10People like you make me want to spread the message even more!
- Teph16, on 09/01/2008, -4/+14Lets do the damn thang!
- hellahyphy, on 09/02/2008, -7/+16The whole thumbs up thumbs down concept on digg is stupid. I hope I get at least 30 thumbs down for writing this so it will prove my point.
- badassninja, on 09/02/2008, -1/+10This worked well in Ubuntu
http://play.rbn.com/play.asx?url=cspan/cspan/wmliv ...
At lest my install of it. lol - snassiri, on 09/02/2008, -0/+8this is not a bid to launch a third party run. it's an assembly to stoke the fires of liberty.... to send a message to those in power to back down from authoritarianism and return power to the states and to the people.
- RedPhalanx, on 09/02/2008, -1/+10how ironic
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -1/+9He'll still receive my .00000000000000000000000000000000000000001%
- j.carcinogen, on 09/02/2008, -1/+9Why do you guys use name calling?
- almayng, on 09/02/2008, -0/+8First of all... What the ***** is a Paultard? Is it a combination of Paul and retard? I still don't get it and its stupid.
Why are we considered a bunch of freaks and losers because we support something that we believe in, why is that so bad?
I'm a person just like anyone else. I'm married, I have an education, I have a decent job, i have two dogs and I believe in Ron Paul's message. How does that make me a retard or a loser? - j.carcinogen, on 09/02/2008, -4/+11Hes not running.
- shig, on 09/02/2008, -0/+7The movement won't go away after November, like Nader, or Barr, or any other tertiary candidate for President.
How is that a bad thing?
His decision to run as Republican, and take part in the widely publicized Primary debates, in a time when the field was wide open and it was anyone's game, was a tactical decision. Barr and Nader have to lobby for a spot in the Presidential debates, which they have little hope of attending, and they were forced to start campaigning almost a full year later. Dr. Paul's message was heard by millions for little to no money in advertising, buying venue time, etc, etc, and his fund-raising was also extended and expanded.
They'll be talking about his strategy for years, decades, during which time the Campaign for Liberty will be producing a steady stream of State and local candidates that agree to the platform. You'll eventually see a political party form out of this, perhaps. IMO, it's not needed. Support another third-party candidate for President. There are still many worthy of your support. But more importantly, you need to support your local candidate that runs on the Campaign for Liberty platform no matter what party they belong to. - badassninja, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6Lucky Duck.
- MyBookie, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6There have been studies done which state that Ron Paul was purposely omitted from the presidential news, except for a small amount of coverage regarding his fund raising abilities. If the media would just give him fair coverage, we wouldn't be in this position.

- elnerdo, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6He's taking votes away from McCain, not Obama.
