- jxs2151, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Alright, let's stop this nonsense right now.
I know that we all have some anger at the current administration but it serves no purpose whatsoever to try to imply that a couple of warnings show huge negligence on the part of the government.
These madmen chose to kill over 3,000 people in the mistaken name of Islam.....the responsibility for that choice lies solely with them and their enablers. Period. End.Of.Story. - johnnick, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10The article specifically states that none of the warnings contemplated that the hijackers would slam the planes into buildings. The 9/11 attacks exploited two things: (1) a security policy that considered things like box cutters as non-threatening and (2) a hijack-response policy that assumed the hijackers wanted to survive and therefore urged cooperation with and accomodation of the hijackers until the plane could get on the ground.
If you assume the hijackings mentioned in the warnings were going to be traditional hijackings, then there was no way to anticipate that they would use the planes to slam into buildings. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10France and about thirty other countries issued official warnings. Forget foreigners alerting us, the August 6th, 2001 PDB was hand delivered to Bush in Crawford with explicit warnings. Oh, then there is always Able Danger, the intelligence unit headed by Col. Schafer which had mounds and mounds and mounds of warnings. Then there is the former head of the FBI, John O'neil, who resigned from his position when Bush signed Presidential Order w199i which pulled FBI agents off of Bin Laden's group and many other known Al Queda operatives. There is even more. It is undeniable that Bush had prior knowledge of the supposed terrorist attacks. You are living in denial by thinking otherwise with the mountain of info supporting prior knowledge.
- SultanTravi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5You hit the nail on the head. These people have no idea how the intelligence system works, how many reports they get, etc.
Read some books on the CIA and counter-terrorism in the US before you spout of statistics about how many times we were warned. - inactive, on 10/29/2007, -7/+10The CIA warned by France NINE TIMES before 9/11!!!!!!
The DGSE external intelligence service wrote a total of nine reports between September 2000 and August 2001 on Al-Qaeda threats against the US and passed all of them on to the Central Intelligence Agency's Paris bureau, the French newspaper reported. - dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7even the Taliban warned the US of the attacks
"Late July 2001: Taliban Foreign Minister Tries to Warn US and UN of Huge Attack Inside the US"

Some of the warnings were extremely specific before 911 ...
such as:
Early August 2001: Government Informant Warns Congressmen of Plan to Attack the WTC
Early September 2001: Iranian Inmate in Germany Warns of Imminent Attack on WTC
But the government wasn't going to do a thing about it. Why ? because in their own words, they needed a new pearl harbour to enable their global plans. Wow then 1 year later it happened ...
"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor."

You'll never guess who the members of the project for the new american century are :)
Jeb Bush
Paul Wolfowitz
Donald Rumsfeld
Dick Cheney
to name a few.

Sounds like the French Foreign Intelligence service is doing the Official Conspiracy Theorists a favor, just as 9-11 Truth is spreading. 9-11 was an inside job.
- GeneralFault, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"Nobody could have predicted what Osama did"
Except that there were CIA studies on the subject, the building was designed with exactly that scenario in mind, and there was even a bad movie made using that kind of attack (but the hero pilots win in the movie). - PhantomBantam, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Is it so hard to believe our government couldn't prevent something? Do you have so much faith in them? Nobody could have predicted what Osama did. It was extremely creative, and if that didn't work, I'm sure there'd have been another attack.
- bobbknight, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Mark as ***** and already known.
Lame - gmillerd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Likely the CIA couldn't read French.
- jxs2151, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6I just wonder how you can have any amount of intellectual honesty when you are willing to accept the warnings coming from Europe on 9/11 were valid but likely discount the Iraq warnings from Europe.
Just another Bush hater willing to twist logic and reason to suit your worldview. - dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4the no plane theory is simply REDICULOUS.
We can point out government criminality and media complicity without entertaining such fringe theories ..
But a little gem from Rumsfeld ..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3KhQPNUJUc - Aaronichi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4European consumers were warned not to fly 2 weeks beforehand (had to cancel a summer trip to Spain).
The whole "You just don't understand me!" thing doesn't work for my daughter, and it doesn't work for the Administration.
They knew something involving an airplane was in the works. - dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4a couple of warnings ?
er
The FAA was warned 52 times prior to 911
http://digg.com/world_news/FAA_Warned_52_Times_Before_9_11
How many becomes criminaly negligent ?
Or how about the fact the white house ordered the EPA to lie and say the air is safe. Now thousands more are dying or are suffering ? And no one has taken the wrap for these crimes ? No one has lost their jobs or even been demoted.
"White House Ordered EPA to Lie About 9/11 Pollution Danger"
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/0823-03.htm - dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4This is just one of the MANY 911 warnings, but worth quoting
"September 7, 2001: Priest Is Told of Plot to Attack US and Britain Using Hijacked Airplanes
Father Jean-Marie Benjamin. [Source: Public domain]At a wedding in Todi, Italy, Father Jean-Marie Benjamin is told of a plot to attack the US and Britain USING HIJACKED PLANES AS WEAPONS. He is not told specifics regarding time or place. He immediately passes what he knows to a judge and several politicians. He later will state, “Although I am friendly with many Muslims, I wondered why they were telling me, specifically. I felt it my duty to inform the Italian government.” Benjamin has been called “one of the West’s most knowledgeable experts on the Muslim world.” Two days after 9/11, he will meet with the Italian Foreign Minister on this topic. He will say he learned the attack on Britain failed at the last minute. [Zenit (Vatican), 9/16/2001] An al-Qaeda cell based in nearby Milan, Italy, appears to have had foreknowledge of the 9/11 attacks (see August 12, 2000) and (see January 24, 2001). It is not known if the Italian government warns the US government of this latest warning before 9/11.

In fact .. there were so many 911 warnings, in the mainstream media alone. Alex Jones was able to predict 911 with such details as, they might use planes as weapons, they might attack the WTC buildings, and they would probably blame is on Osma Bin Laden.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1222445722544874066&q=alex+jones+predicts+911&hl=en - iceperson, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I believe the government should have shut down all air travel in the US because "they were warned." They also should have started rounding up brown people because "they were warned." In addition they should have started door to door searches of people looking for box cutters because "they were warned." Lastly, I think every person in the US should have been placed under house arrest and not let out without a government assigned "minder" because "they were warned."
Then again, we could probably simply accept the cost of having a free society is sometimes high and not every bad person can be stopped even though "we were warned." - GeneralFault, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"but likely discount the Iraq warnings from Europe." you mean like when France (them again) warned us that a war in Iraq would be a disaster? If Europe was really concerned about Iraq, then why was the "coalition of the willing" so weak?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Everyone who read the above article should watch this short video. You'll appreciate the information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_ySSJ_L6Zs
- TubaTechno, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Considering a plot was foiled in 1995 of flying planes from Europe to the US in order to crash the planes into the ocean (idiot conspirists use this as proof of government lead attack on itself).......I'd say there was plenty of evidence that Al Queda was trying to use planes as weapons.
Do not count towards malice in what you can plainly see as incompetence. - ToasterHead219, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0that video is real!! the media ***** us!!
if you IGNORE camera angles, ***** encoded youtube videos, and all the other footage. - SwissCamel, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4Seriously guys, the U.S wouldn't have let this happen. THEY'D HAD STAGED IT THEMSELVES!!! LOLOLOL
No honestly. You aren't part of the security community, you don't know the nature of the warnings (how serious they were etc). Maybe the just didn't sound credible? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3aaa
