This guy gets 10 months and a fine of 10,000 dollars in the first place - that's absolutely disgusting. - pintomp3, on 12/24/2008, -6/+82harsh prison sentences are for those who smoke plants and don't hurt anyone. people who ruin the lives of millions are the heroes of capitalism and deserve the penthouses and private jets.

- rpieszak, on 12/24/2008, -10/+42I was all ready to jump in and criticize Bush again, but then I read this...
"With this latest batch, which includes forgiveness for convictions ranging from gun and drug violations to bank and mail fraud, Bush has granted a total of 190 pardons and nine commutations. That's fewer than half as many as Presidents Clinton or Ronald Reagan issued during their two terms."

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5 ... - JoeParanoid, on 12/24/2008, -10/+40Pardons for people wrongly convicted, convicted on political grounds, or who paid their debt to society are what this power was intended. Pardoning friends, relatives and like-minded crooks is not. Sadly, as politics has been polluted by campaign cash and lobbyists, it has become the trend. Still, Bush has been especially stingy in the actual beneficent part of the power, but then that simply reflects what a cheesy little creep and faux Christian he is. He would pardon Barrabas.

Are you so ashamed of the broken, corrupt Con-servative "idiotology" that all you can do is point fingers far into the future at some imagined, hypothetical offense prophesized to occur years from now rather than take any personal responsibility for the massive failures of the conservative movement that has run this country so thoroughly into the ground?
You idiots have had your chance and have been outed as the dimwitted failures that your are. If you don't have any solutions, don't just sit back and criticize as the one's who do save your ungrateful asses from economic purgatory. - WildBil, on 12/25/2008, -0/+15He Withdrew this pardon

Bury - inaccurate.
President George W. Bush on Wednesday revoked a pardon he had granted only a day before — a step unheard of in recent memory — after learning in news reports of political contributions to Republicans by the man's father and other information.
Bush pardoned 19 people on Tuesday, including Isaac Robert Toussie of Brooklyn, N.Y., who had been convicted of making false statements to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and of mail fraud. On Wednesday, the White House issued an extraordinary statement saying the president was reversing his decision in Toussie's case.
White House press secretary Dana Perino said the new decision was "based on information that has subsequently come to light," including on the extent and nature of Toussie's prior criminal offenses. She also said that neither the White House counsel's office nor the president had been aware of a political contribution by Toussie's father that "might create an appearance of impropriety."
"Given that, this was the prudent thing to do," she said. - alife, on 12/24/2008, -4/+19There is a joke that begins like this: 'All men are created equal...'. I don't remember how it ends. But with news like this sure it must be funny.

- GovernmentSp00k, on 12/24/2008, -13/+26Since when do the puppet mis-leaders respect the Constitution? Much less our civil liberties or privacy rights. This worthless excuse of a war criminal presidency has broken more laws, taxed us relentlessly without representation, screwed with the Constitution, and p$$sed in the face of the American people and the WORLD more than any other administrations combined. They lie in our faces yet nothing is done.
They haven't exactly been following the Constitution lately in light of their "bail out" fraud. This is massive taxation without representation. Mass extortion of 300+ million American taxpayers.
Where in the American Constitution does it state such a massive, trillion dollar transfer of wealth is permitted? Where trillions of dollars can be taken (stolen) from the hands of one group of people against their collective will and given to another? Without real oversight or justification.
They can get away with that right. No reprimands there. But we're supposed to respect their right to pardon felons, criminals and law breakers. What a joke.
These criminals pardoning criminals aren't worthy of respect.
The Constitution is merely a historical document to the organized crime voted into power. To pay cheap lip service whenever it suits their needs. Make them sound "American" after the fact. They have demonstrated to have complete disregard for it and everything it stands for.
Besides, the United States Constitution has been legislated into oblivion by their fascist "patriot acts" and trumped by a "department of homeland security" corporation.
We need an amendment to reverse those first. - yacinebouatrous, on 12/24/2008, -3/+16he's gonna keep doing it till the last second of his reign, maybe even empty all the fridges at the White House just before he leaves

- GovernmentSp00k, on 12/24/2008, -6/+13If anybody out there thinks this fascist regime gives a S*&t what you think, you are sadly mistaken.
If you really think that your so-called joke of a "representatives" give a S#!t what you think, maybe you better think again.
They only pretend to represent us.
This country was bought, sold & paid-for a long time ago. The ***** they shuffle around every 4 years? PFfffft.
Meaningless.
This is now a 'government by the government of the government for the government." (Preamble)
We are mere serfs for cannon fodder and taxes for the worthless "representatives of the American people."..
If Con-gress was forced to pay trillions of dollars to the "failing" auto industry using money from THEIR personal bank accounts, savings and retirement funds, they would NEVER *dare* approve any trillion-dollar "bailout." They would actually have to plan a real strategy with real accountability instead of revert to free giveaways and blank checks with ZERO oversight for whoever wines & dines (bribes) them at whim.
If the joke of a "representative" sold-out critters had to pay for their trillion dollar "rescue plans" out of their own pockets, from their own savings with their own paychecks, vacation pay and taxpayer funded retirement perks, they would sure think twice about their so-called "bailout" as the sole solution to a manufactured 'crisis.' They wouldn't be so quick to rush to drastic $700 billion dollar "rescue plans" and including their ultra rich corporatist buddies in on the action if they were the ones paying for it.
It's far too easy when they have us taxpayer cattle pick up their tab and stick us with the bill.
"Problem solved" right. Disgustingly rampant, out of control taxation without representation. We the people (taxpayer serfs) don't want it. As the deceptive mis-leaders sit on the sidelines and laugh and smile while congratulating one another for a "job well done.".. We the 300+ million Americans become victim of their extortion schemes selling us all out once again. Where is the representation?
An overwhelming majority of Americans were against the "bailout" scam. Record numbers called their so-called "representatives" in opposition.
The "representatives of the American people!" (barf) voted FOR it instead.
Talk about a SELL OUT.
We have no real representation. It's a farce. All but an illusion to be propped up by the powers that be. To lull us into false belief that we have "influence"..
The mis-leaders and professional deceivers represent Wall Street. The bankster mafia. Federal Reserve owners. Lobbyists. AIPAC. Globalist corporate interests. Not the majority of 300+ million American citizens. Not what we - the American people - want.
Sure we have the illusion of "representation" in Con-gress.
That's why they continue to sell us all out, at every turn. Legislate our rights and Constitution away. Vote to tax us mercilessly for trillions of dollars right.
Some "representation"
Who needs it?
Who do these deceivers represent anyway? Certainly not us, we the people.
Since when was the last time any of these bought, sold & paid-for "representatives of the American people!" (gag) did anything in our favor?
When was the last time the professional liars did anything we the people - 300+ million American citizens - want?
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::crickets:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
We don't have real leaders anymore. We have mis-leaders. They only pretend to represent us. Turncoats and traitors who sell us out, sell our country, Constitution and bank accounts out at every turn.
What a joke calling these mis-leaders "lawmakers" they are organized crime voted into power.
"Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice . . . you don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own, and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought, and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJ4SSvVbhLw - davebg8r, on 12/24/2008, -9/+15How much evidence for other criminal activities were also destroyed in 911? Im thinking alot. Supposedly the area of the Pentagon that was hit was also a records/storage room that contained evidence of several other pending criminal investigations of high level officials and rich people.
- ScottMitchell, on 12/25/2008, -0/+6Can you please explain how any of Bush's pardons - or Clinton's, or Regan's - were part of checks and balances? I agree that the right to pardon is a part of checks and balances, but I fail to see how the application in my lifetime has been an example of checks and balances. If these pardons were part of checks and balances, why do these Presidents wait until the waning weeks of their final term to grant them?
- inactive, on 12/24/2008, -10/+16wtf Clinton pardoned the FALN terrorists that bombed LaGaurdai airport and Faunces Tavern in NYC and killed Americans. What a short memory Americans have
