- nyw7070, on 12/03/2008, -0/+41I thought they cut out "Outlook" support when i first saw your title
- SirChasm, on 12/03/2008, -9/+26"citing the impact of the strong dollar and the weak U.S. economy."
What about releasing a ***** iPhone knockoff? - mindpuzzle, on 12/03/2008, -2/+17All companies are doing this. They do have some really nice new products that have a place in the market.
- EASwanson, on 12/04/2008, -0/+12Breaking News: We're in a recession...
- dtpollitt, on 12/04/2008, -0/+9buried for horrible title.
- akchrs, on 12/04/2008, -0/+7me too.
- birdman14, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6The bold's not better than your curve? 3g? Much better screen? 2 times as fast? 3g?
- lovemorgul, on 12/03/2008, -0/+6A new licensing strategy that will let third parties make BlackBerry-like devices, as well as increasing efforts to help developers create more applications for its handhelds, will help in the long term
- cgomez, on 12/04/2008, -1/+6The BlackBerry Storm was actually the highlight of the RIM statement.
"It further added that the Storm's first day of sales drew a record number of new net subscribers for the company, and that it also managed to pull in a record number of weekly net subscribers additions in the last week of the third quarter." - sjbdallas, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5They're losing their direction in my opinion. They were putting out better and better devices for a few years and everytime one came out I wanted it. Now, I have no interest in a Bold because it's not better than my Curve and I have no interest in the Storm because it's a crappy attempt to mirror the iPhone. They should have gone the gphone direction if they wanted a touch screen device because it has a full keyboard as well. A blackberry on that hardware is something I would have liked.
- birdman14, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4I cant tell if you're being sarcastic but i dugg you up hoping that you weren't. The javelin is sexy as hell and judging on the fact that the Curve drives their sales, it'll be good for RIM.
- IHaveCrayons, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5Releasing the Blackberry Curve Javelin without 3g in Q1 2009 is their ace in the hole!
- kevinsboy, on 12/04/2008, -2/+5Or because my phones scroll wheel has broken FOR THE FOURTH TIME.......
- jcardinal, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Old news guys. I read this in the G and M this morning.
- xenoscion, on 12/04/2008, -3/+5F**K....oh wait not Microsoft Outlook, in other news our economy isn't so hot.
- orthodoxDrew, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2did you notice you have your exchange 'notes' on the bb but not the iphone? my work pays for my bb, so i'm not payin for an iphone, but that turns me off.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 12/04/2008, -1/+3I think you must be doing it wrong.
- cthellis, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Well how else do you jerk to mobile porn?
- kr9681, on 12/04/2008, -1/+3I couldn't afford my iphone, well AT&T, so i went back to tmobile. After going through 3 tmobile phones, i picked up a blackberry curve. I instantly fell in love, nothing comes close to it. And as of right now if i had to choice I think i would stick to my BB. I can't believe i've been missing out for so long =)
- aelder, on 12/04/2008, -1/+3The trackball on my BB Curve broke 4 times, each time ATT sent me a replacement. After that I wasn't too interested in Blackberry's.
Replaced it with an iPhone and aside from the loss of push email, I'm happy. - Skurt, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2My boss just got one yesterday, the "SmartPress™" is a pain in the ass.
For those who know the MacBook, the Storm's face is the same principle, but with the Storm, it's a very different tactical feel.
He is at the point of returning it before the weekend. Lost signal, dropped carrier and email that didn't come back to life until he removed/replaced the battery.
I'm sure he'll be going back to his Treo - rvissers, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2...because their latest product line isn't selling as well as they hoped....simply that and nothing more.
- JackDoyle, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2... and the crappy Storm.
- scamper22, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2your sarcasm detector is down.
He is emphasizing the lack of 3G in a 2009 device. - ohplease, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2
Phew. When they said "cuts outlook" I thought they meant they'd no longer support Outlook/Exchange (which would be suicide). Exchange server support is the ONLY reason to buy a Blackberry. If you own one and it's not for corporate email and integration with Blackberry Enterprise Server, you're a complete idiot. - inactive, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2What a bad title, makes it sound like they are cutting microsoft outlook support.
- wesw02, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Yea, I thought the same thing. The title is misleading and lame.
- linagee, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2MS Outlook: Ow.
- Quick2822, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Maybe if they'd actually invest some money into their OS to make it more than just a step up from the Palm OS they wouldn't be having these problems.
- mhjeon, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2hmmmmmm..................
- sjbdallas, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2If I want to watch video or look at pictures on a tiny screen i'll hop in my time machine and go back to 1999.
