- Kaffir, on 10/03/2008, -0/+35Heads need to roll . . . starting with Barney Frank! We need an investigation, and if laws were broken, there should be strict enforcement of the laws. No one should be immune from prosecution.
What we really need is new blood in Washington. . . vote the bums OUT in November!
Thank you, Bill O'Reilly for facing up to this idiot! - inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+33Come the day when Mr. Frank's term is up for reelection I sincerely hope that he gets tossed out on his ear. Do we think his constituents will actually see the light of day and do it? Of course he might be in the slammer by then.
- rpfinley, on 10/03/2008, -0/+27While the Riley interview was more Jerry Springer than journalism he had a good point, Frank says he thinks they are in good shape going forward. The stocks go on to lose over 90% of their value. He has been the head of the committee for 18 months in this interview. Could you imagine a president saying, I couldn't fix the problem I have only been here for 18 months? Its time to toss all the bums out every single one of them and time to add term limits.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -2/+28Frank needs to spend less time in assless chaps and more time in reality.
- clarencepaul, on 10/03/2008, -0/+22Both of these programs were set up to give low income and poverty class people a
golden opportunity of new home ownership and it was a total abuse of credit applications and qualifications, lies and distortions and greed were at the base of it
and the democrats were the authors of it, they are so dead set on being a predator on
voters, they were willing totake a chanch on people who didn't deserve a chanch nor qualified for payment schedules and obligations, they removed any barriers to approval,
now the consequences are here to bear, we have whole new neighborhoods in the charlotte area that have been vacated, probably most of them from the first payment
being due, let alone the teaser rates being reset, our politicians are using fear tactics
to scare a quick approval and as always throw money at a problem instead of let the
CEO's and other management of these companies solve their own failures, not the tax payers, I believe the FBI ought to investigate possible fraud and embezzelment by the heads of these corporations, remember Enron ? The S&L's ? We are fools for believing
our politicians are doing anything to safeguard us. It is time to vote out all the career
politicians, they have experience alright, but mostly how to work the system for themselves. - professor357, on 10/03/2008, -0/+22What is not part of the video is the role Barney Frank played in rewriting the CRA [Community Reinvestment Act] rules during the Clinton Administration. That's when the Democrats put pressure on the banks to increase minority lending in order to get their requests for new bank branches and bank mergers approved. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd [on the Senate side] were front and center responsible for that legislation.
- Kaffir, on 10/03/2008, -0/+18Good point, and it needs to be emphasized again and again! That's why I wrote that I think his head should be on the chopping block, among many others. The least we can do would be to vote them OUT of office, and OFF of the Hill!
- inboxnews, on 10/03/2008, -0/+16Congress has now passed the bailout bill, and Barney Frank has pledged "serious surgery" next year to address the underlying causes of the crisis. NEXT YEAR. http://forum.contractcentral.com/eight-bailout-que ...

Washington D.C. - Associated Press
President Obama has officially pardoned Former Congressman Barney Frank, Former Senator Christopher Dodd, Former Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Former Congressman Gregory Meeks, Franklin Raines, and Jim Johnson. President Obama said, "It is a crime that these outstanding individuals that made home ownership a reality for many Americans, were ever indicted in the first place. In fact, the White House is the first house that I am proud to call home, courtesy of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac."
Food for Thought - brad3378, on 10/03/2008, -0/+14+1 Disturbing
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9Barney Frank is a JERK. They are ALL crooks and liars. Lions and tigers and bears oh my!
- danielttt, on 10/04/2008, -0/+7Great post. The parallel with Enron is interesting. How do the monetary losses at Enron compare to the losses at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? The american people are being held responsible for this mess and are being forced to pony up to cover the losses. Barney Frank tells us he's doing us a favor. He screwed us (sorry for the visual) in the design, the construction, and the razing phases of this debacle. Now he is incensed that O'Riley isn't holding him up as a hero. Frank belongs in Federal Prison....That might be too good for him as he would likely enjoy the company there.
- Pacer78, on 10/04/2008, -1/+7Barney Frank having hearings next year on who caused the crisis is like Lucky Luciano having hearings on organized crime.
- clarencepaul, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3I have one last question and reply; who came up with the figure of 700 billion dollars ?
Nice big fat figure ! I can assure you, this money will be like a hugh slop bucket to a
mass amount of hogs to gather for a feast of partaking of the same old crowd that caused it to happen, already, Acorn has had a large contribution, California is coming around to get their portion for more excessive spending, AIG has thrown a big party
to celebrate the bailout, spending some of the proceeds, nothing was said about John
McCain going back to washington, but to only add to the bailout, a 300 billion more dollars worth of mortgage aid, they had to make it an even trillion dollars, our govt. does things in a big way when they do them, no fear, our enemies have plenty of cash to lend to us, if they buy America, they won't have to bomb us into submission, we go by the golden rule, you know, they that have the gold rules. A short prayer for our nation; God, please send us men of good report, who loves America and cares about
her and her people, your word says: my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge
and professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. Amen - gbudavid, on 10/04/2008, -0/+3You Forgot Murtha,Jefferson and Ways and means chairmann
- mre5765, on 10/04/2008, -0/+3And Pelosi.
- mre5765, on 10/04/2008, -0/+2He is up for re-election now, but unfortunately, the GOP party does not appear to be fielding a candidate.
- clarencepaul, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1The news report out recently said the congress and senate was meeting and deciding
how to spend the seven hundred billion dollars["how to spend"] did you hear that ?
California is now expecting a bailout[what's wrong with raising their taxes ?] I can blame Geo. Bush for the ten trillion dollar debt, by allowing all above $200k a year tax cuts, allowing our debt to soar and borrowing money from our enemies, someone has to pay the bills sometime or leave it for our children and grand children, imagine the millionaires and billionaires in America escaping their proper percentages of taxation
and buying additional mansions and yachts and sales did pick up tremendously when cut was announced and he wants to make it permanet ? I also understand Obama has
three of the jerks involved in this bailout working heading up his team of financial experts. What an intersanctum !!! - inactive, on 10/03/2008, -10/+0How DARE he believe the CEOs of those companies when they told him they were OK!!!!
No, just kidding.
How dare he make the same mistake about those companies that McCain/Bush made about the whole financial industry!!!
