- Easty, on 10/11/2007, -4/+116Bush: *covers ears* La la la la la! Not listening!
- NicksVideo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+86BREAKING: News that happened over half a day ago is no longer BREAKING.
In other words, don't use it in story titles. Stories reach the front page HOURS after you submit them. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+80But.. but... if we leave Iraq terrorists will win!
- Albionshores, on 10/11/2007, -3/+57But we have never occupied Iraq, everyone knows that Oceania have always been at war with Eastasia never Eurasia.
On a more positive note, chocolate rations will be increased this week.... - WhiteIce89, on 10/11/2007, -2/+46You heard them.. they want us to leave. They've been telling us this informally (the violence) for years, now it's official.
- jxe8bv, on 10/11/2007, -7/+50This is great news.
- aussieNickuss, on 10/11/2007, -3/+34He had capslock on when he typed US. Lol.
- b1gm1ke, on 10/11/2007, -10/+41Isn't the US building their largest base in Iraq? They are planning to settle in for the long haul, against the wishes of the majority of Iraqi and American people (not to mention the rest of the world). I'll probably get dug down for this but...Ron Paul ftw!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+34You know, the news is just broken now
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+27Mission Accomplished
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26"When the strongest nation in the world can be tied up for ... years in a war ... with no end in sight, when the richest nation in the world can't manage its own economy, when the nation with the greatest tradition of the rule of law is plagued by unprecedented lawlessness, ... and when the President of the United States cannot travel abroad or to any major city at home without fear of a hostile demonstration - then it's time for new leadership for the United States of America."
-- Richard Nixon, 1968 - Asianwaste, on 10/11/2007, -4/+28I would've figured "SO us SHOULD LEAVE TOMORROW" would have warranted that. Not for the political statement, but the the improper use of not only caps, but for lower case letters as well... wtf?
- Toshibi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24Doubleplusgood Comrade!
- DivisibleByZero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23I'd like to direct everyone to this GreaseMonkey script, which replaces the word BREAKING, with LAME, as it rightfully should be.
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/10313 - diggtomanjeri, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17Why would Bush care if the Iraqi's say we can leave, not like he asked them if we could go there in the first place.
- rhabd0mancer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17Bush is never going to withdraw from Iraq.
I thought you people had figured that out by now. - swordphish, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15But the reality is, the US won't pull out until all Iraqi oil has been privatized...
- CharliesRevenge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14You fail at sarcasm.
- Albionshores, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Now 16 ounces, up from 24!
- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -2/+13damn straight, i saw this on CNN yesterday afternoon.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13At this rate the civil war will be over in no time! Because both sides will be too busy fighting us.
- curtvdh, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12But we can't leave now! We don't have all the Oil yet...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Yeah, because everyone knows that an election held by an occuption army with only candidates approved by a foreign government is the very epitome of "democracy."
- m0tbaillie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7But it makes all of the pseudo-journalists on Digg feel like they're ACTUALLY covering hot top stories!
- worldinmyeyes, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10So true, and Congress right there with him. I've had enough of this corrupt government. Republicans AND Democrats....all puppets of the global elite and special interest groups who put them in power.
- jamesallen74, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9To all you Digg Nazis bitching about the use of the word BREAKING....
GET A LIFE!!!! It's just a word, good grief. You need more serious things to think about in life. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10Time to take our bat and ball and go home. Let the ***** rip each other to shreds.
- unknownpoltroon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7OK, Buh Bye!!
- sullyj, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Not to mention our super-duper $1 Billion+ dollar mega Haliburton Vacation Resort/US Embassy.
- IrishJoe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Bush says that we're only in Iraq because the Iraqis want us there. A survey of Iraqis showed that an overwhelming majority want us out. Recently the Iraqi Parliament voted for us to leave. Bush said we have to stay because Prime Minister al Maliki wants us to stay. But Maliki says we can leave any time we want, and the American People want our troops to come home. Why are we still there, Mr. Bush? You've lost your last excuse. The Iraqis want us out and the American People want us out. Must I remind you that you are an employee of the American People not a nation unto yourself? Do what the Iraqis and the American People want and let our service members come home to the families and nation that love them. NOW!
- endustry, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Cheney's hand must have become dislodged from the strings used to operate the guy's mouth. Give them a few days to "fix" the problem.
- 15charmaxwtf, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Yeah, STOP PRESS would be more fitting.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7And tomorrow, the Iraqi Prime Minister will have a tragic and bizarre "accident" involving a bullet and his head.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Oh, the White House knows alright. The problem you had just then was that YOU didn't know they knew.
- scottykempf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I was being sarcastic, in case you couldnt tell.
- superguysteve, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5GTFO!
- theNthDoctor, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7BROKEN!! World Politics!
- joe573, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Maybe....just maybe they are actually ready for us to leave.
- riverside71, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6yep.. ONLY after they win.. cuz otherwise they go like..
"Hey Abdul.. wanna bomb something in the USA?... Naaaaah Akhmed.. we've got plenty to do in Iraq.. let's kill some Iraqis.. that will teach the Crusaders and the Jews.." - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4How the ***** do we avoid reading a headline without avoiding reading *anything*?
- CoFRBrutus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The U.S. most certainly did put them in power CMOSLogic. In fact we were great allies with them during the Iran/Iraq war.
- Albionshores, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5If you think about it, that is probably where it belongs.
- Jeebugorn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4i hate to break it to you but the Senate is also part of Congress and that's what he is talkin about.
- Albionshores, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4This isn't about just liberals. It is about liberal, democrats, republicans, non partisans & military types identifying that the war is about authoritarian military-industrial-congressional complex greed and libertarians speaking up against it. (and no, libertarian does not mean liberal)
- chinaski, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8This is breaking news? Did I miss something?
Of course the Iraqi prime minister tells everyone he doesn't need any foreign troops to keep this country in control. Otherwise he would admit that he is not the one who is pulling the strings.
You can not evaluate the statements of a politician without including the context. Even al-Maliki knows that he will not be able to maintain a certain amount of stability if the US troops leave during the next months. - mishabear, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The people in Iraq have free will too. If they want another Saddam, they'll have it. We can't MAKE them embrace democracy. It's their lives and their war now. Let them fight it just as our forefathers did over 200 years ago.
- Satanael, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4What the hell runs through your mind that made you think typing any of that would make sense to us.
- kakapu4u, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This happens every time somebody uses BREAKING. The first person to slam the submitter gets dugg way up, but people don't seem to be getting the message; those kind of stories continue to be submitted. Maybe we could put a stop to it if we buried BREAKING stories as lame instead of digging some random commenter up.
- maxtangent, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Saddam was under the impression that the US backed his invasion of the one time Iraq province of Kuwait. Bush said it was okay, then backstabbed him.
