- bbodine1, on 06/02/2008, -1/+13The effect of a boycott on one of the 9 supermajor oil companies will be big because the boycott will allow Americans to continue buying gasoline (because we have too) but still hurt the top guy... currently Exxon Mobil. The only cost to Americans in the boycott is some minor inconvenience in some cases. Just got to the gas station across the street.
- inactive, on 06/02/2008, -1/+10I've looked into this more than once and not sure if it will work, But I'm willing to boycott and see if it goes anywhere, if anything they will lose money on their 'Mart' sales that must also be very lucrative for them.
We must try something to change things. - Surferess, on 06/02/2008, -1/+10I have been boycotting Exxon for 20 years, but ok I will continue.
- CoolHandLuke70, on 06/02/2008, -1/+10I have been talking about doing this for a while now. In fact I have been doing it already since I do not like how Exxon(the double cross--yes there is esoteric meaning in that boys and girls--research it) has continued to screw over all the people and animal life affected by the Exxon Valdez spill! This protest might not have as much of an effect as most people would think, but it is STILL worth it, and it still is a pretty good kick in their jimmy! Shout this far and wide and make sure that we stick to Exxon Mobil!!
- freedomwv, on 06/02/2008, -1/+9I hope the word really gets out because this will work if people start doing it.
- lazerus9, on 06/02/2008, -1/+8This is an interesting article that some of you may have missed:http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/mar/19/venezu ...
- inactive, on 06/02/2008, -1/+8This boycott is a great idea.
In the words of Thomas Jefferson, “Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”
Peak Oil theory is a fraud created by Shell Oil in the 1960’s.

If the populace were just aware of how immoral and amazingly criminal the power elite are, there would be a revolution by morning(paraphrasing what Henry Ford said about the banking industry)! This is why it is not hard to understand why the dumbing down of the populace, using psychological and chemical methods, is so important to THEM and why the majority of society is a bunch of drooling imbeciles that are about to be culled! I laugh when people tell me it is just about lust for money because the power elite have more money than they can count or spend in several lifetimes. Most forget that they are the ones that have created the money systems as well as guide and control them, set the price of gold each day. The ones who lust for money are not at the top! It is all about control! And there is an obvious move towards a HUGE imminent change, which the rising price of oil is an integral part of, that they are implementing as they guide things towards George H.W. Bush's favorite catch phrase, A New World Order! This ain't no joke folks!
- Jimmyb207, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4The greed of Exxon Mobile goes beyond my comprehension. From the interviews I have read recently of Exxon Mobile and Shell CEO's ....They claim that the outrageous price of gasoline and oil "is not their fault" and it is absolutely NOT their responsibility that millions are suffering around the world. And at the same time they will do NOTHING to help the situation. It is painfully obvious that EM feels they are "entitled" to their obscene riches. Their overkill profits, so much so that they don't have trucks big and fast enough to get the money to the bank without drowning in it. It has become their sickness now, their diseased and rotten morals for the world to see and suffer by.
I would like to think that a boycott would hurt them, I want them to suffer the stress of not being able to afford to heat their homes. Of not being able to afford the gas to get to work. Suffer because they can no longer afford to by decent food. Decisions....warm house or pancakes for dinner every night washed down with water. It's happening in America, more and more everyday. Your corporate TV news will not let you know about it. TV is NOT reality. It's all smoke and mirrors and lies.
Cool Hand........"a pretty good kick in their jimmy!" ???? : ) - TYRONEBR549, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1I have been boycotting Exxon ever sense they got they damages awarded to Alaska dropped for Valdez spill. So unfortunately nothing new here. Good idea for others though to join in.
- EJohn54, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1Wow you are really going to boycott ExxonMobil? So you are throwing away everything in your house made of plastic, rubber, or synthetic fibers? Did you know chewing gum is made of butyl rubber, the same thing as your tire? I guess that goes too. Good job guys.
- gigione, on 06/02/2008, -3/+3Besides the boycott we could also decrease consumption(and their profits) by driving 55-65 on the nations highways.
