If you are ranked at 100,000 that just means that there are 99,999 sites that Alexa Tool Bar users use more often. You may be getting twice as many or ten times as many visitors as someone ranked at 200,000. Even Alexa says that there is no way of knowing. Also just because a site gets more visitors doesn't mean that it's a better or more informative site. It just means that the site has better SEO or SEM or has been around longer or some other of the many factors that raise a site in the rankings. There are sites ranked under 10,000 at Alexa that are just old and have tons of links but their content is mostly junk. Look at many of the article directories, they get tons of junk articles submitted every day and most of them rank under 100,000. Of course most of their traffic comes from article submitters and not that many people actually go there to read the articles.

That is true about Alexa ranking (read the post carefully) as to number of visitors.
Is important to understand that only site visitors with the Alexa Toolbar count towards that Ranking. - shirleyjohn, on 05/26/2008, -0/+0Thanks for the information. When you have completed your research I'm sure you will have the answer to your questions. Can't wait to find out.
