- jayzenner, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1Smart advice in any market but in the shift from a sellers' to a buyers' market, it's also important to learn something about selling houses. In a sellers' market you stick a sign in the ground and put your listing in MLS and eventually it will sell. In a buyers' market the listing agent must become her client's marketing director not just a transaction facilitator. Virtually all the marketing training agents get is in marketing themselves...selling the house is a whole different animal.
- REbloggirl, on 04/06/2008, -0/+0"The opportunity during the current pause (and yes, it's a pause) is to find, one by one, the people who would benefit from hearing from you and then earn the right to talk to them. Earn the right to send them a newsletter or a regular update or a subscription to your blog. NOT to talk about what matters to you, but to give them information (real information, not just data) that matters to them." I love it. Thank you so much for saying it. I see hundreds of Realtors blogging about community events and how to make a perfect martini... if they just started blogging about what buyers and sellers want (i.e. real estate)... they'd see better ROI on their blogs.
