This article isn't about perspective, it's about sticking your head in the sand and pretending this is going to blow over because it has every other time. The world has never seen a time like this before, so we have nothing substantial to base our false hopes on.
- GRCcoach, on 09/24/2008, -0/+0As the song goes "the sun will always come out tomorrow." It is easy to get caught in the herd of panic but luck always prefers the prepared mind. It takes perspective to prepare for future opportunities. In all this turmoil is opportunity if you look for it.
Each new day on the planet is a day that the world has never seen before as a matter of fact it is unprecedented. - Coachelle, on 09/24/2008, -0/+0Actually, the article is not about putting your head in the sand, but actually moving on from what has happened. The events that have happened, have happened. It does not help to continually and unconsciously reel about what happened. It only prevents you from moving forward more quickly. As the famous quote goes: A true measure of a man is not how many times he gets knocked down, but how quickly he gets back up. In my experience, the longer you dwell on the past (what just happened), the more time it takes to recover. Stuff happens - and you move on. The power of this article points out that tough times have been upon us before - some tougher then others (i.e. world wars, the great depression, etc) - and as a country we have always survived, and ended up stronger. Defeatist thinking is what will keep us small. The commitment to move forward is what will have us overcome.
