- sratiug, on 09/22/2008, -29/+209Great news! Chuck Baldwin has pledged to end the "New World Order".
- csiprun, on 09/22/2008, -13/+149The press conference he refers to in the article can be watched here: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=H4SYfaNWvAU
- Razmear, on 09/22/2008, -15/+98We also have a chance to elect a Ron Paul Revolutionary to the US Senate representing South Carolina and Dump Lindsey Graham in the process.
Bob Conley is polling just 9 points south of Graham even tho Graham has over $4 Million in his war chest and Bob Conley only has about $1000. Add to this that almost 30% of those polled had ‘no opinion’ of Bob, meaning they have not yet heard his message, and we have a real shot at winning this one!
We have just started a money bomb for Bob over at RonPaulForums.com
Please help out by visiting http://aimhighwithbob.com/ and sending a donation today. Even $5 would help rid the senate of a neo-con and replace him with a Ron Paul supporter in the US Senate. You do not need to be a South Carolina resident to donate to Bob’s campaign.
I will be supporting both Chuck and Bob in November!
eb - inactive, on 09/22/2008, -21/+102I think he felt it was the right Time to endorse a challenger and for all the right reasons....
- NtrmDscrptr, on 09/22/2008, -56/+132Ugh.
This sucks.
Ron Paul built a huge coalition of people with diverse political beliefs. I don't see them as a whole supporting Chuck Baldwin, because he's waaaay too religious, and anti-immigrant. His stance that abortion should be outlawed at the federal level will /not/ sit well with Ron Paul's supporters on the left.
I guess it's time to do some research on whether I can vote for Cynthia McKinney, the Green candidate... - paulotto2007, on 09/22/2008, -9/+71I understand Ron Paul's desire to reach out to evangelicals and help them realize the benefits of sound money. It's important work. However, I still wish he had remained neutral despite Barr's blunder. Because there are many libertarians - although I certainly can't speak for everyone - who are very uncomfortable with the religiosity expressed in the CP platform.
Please don't bury me for this comment... burying people who aren't trolling, but just have a difference of opinion does not make the CP or Baldwin supporters look any better (and vice versa for LP'ers)... I think Ron Paul is great and I respect his decision, I'm just stating my opinion in response to it. - barbsat, on 09/22/2008, -12/+70 Being a left of center libertarian I understand what you are saying. At the moment I don't care about abortion. Let's forget one issue voting and attempt to save our nation and our Constitution. We can work out the small stuff later and compared to saving our bill of rights it is all small stuff.
- tracywood, on 09/22/2008, -43/+98Ron Paul, Champion of the Constitution, THANK YOU!!!!!! You could not have picked a better man.
- dbt21, on 09/22/2008, -27/+79I was voting Chuck before the Barr fiasco! Go Chucky B!
- juankovo, on 09/22/2008, -18/+61You need to learn the difference between being against immigration and against *illegal* immigration. Also, if we ended our welfare state, immigration wouldn't be a problem, because the only people who would come here would be those who were coming to be productive citizens. Welfare states need giant fences.
Abortion cannot be outlawed at the federal level any more than it should be legalized at the federal level. There are a lot of people on both sides of the abortion debate who agree that it should be a state matter, not a federal one.
What, exactly, has Baldwin said that struck you as waaaaay too religious? It's okay for politicians to be personally religious as long as they understand (as I believe Baldwin does) that you cannot use the power of the state to favor a particular religion. - phoobaar, on 09/22/2008, -25/+67This is the first time I've ever buried a Ron Paul story. As a hardcore libertarian and die-hard Ron Paul supporter, I feel totally betrayed.
The Constitution Party is openly theocratic (read the party platform). Chuck Baldwin is a paleoconservative, NOT a libertarian (read his campaign platform).
I was going to stubbornly write in Ron Paul. Now I'll just spoil my ballot with a big X.
(This is where the radical fundamentalist evangelical Baldwin supporters and pseudo-libertarians bury me for being a true constitutionalist and voicing my opinion.) - Felix1085, on 09/22/2008, -21/+61Ron Paul has chosen wisely. Watch all the YouTube videos about Chuck Baldwin, awesome.
Search for "Chuck Baldwin if I were President, part 1"
"Chuck Baldwin if I were President, part 2"
Watch this and your choice is simple. - PAFreedom, on 09/22/2008, -25/+64I love Dr. Chuck Baldwin and he is the closest to Dr. Ron Paul.
- Stryder81, on 09/22/2008, -12/+47Time to start researching Mr. Baldwin.
I only know that he campaigned for Paul, This is going to be an even bigger fight now. * Grabs his guns *
..... The Revolution Continues >:-) - jfreeman, on 09/22/2008, -2/+37Ron Paul will never try to tell you *who* to vote for. If you want to vote for Cynthia McKinney, I'm sure he would be just as pleased that you are voting third party.
- WeavingSpiders, on 09/22/2008, -9/+42"The point is, new devotees to the freedom philosophy are more likely to come from the left than from those conservatives who have been convinced that God has instructed us to militarize the Middle East." - Ron Paul
Come on Obama supporters, join the REAL freedom revolution. Learn about Ron Paul asap. - diggduggjoe, on 09/23/2008, -4/+37He is also very anti-porn and would likely allow states to regulate the Internet against content that caters to prurient interests. That is not first amendment support in my book.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -19/+50:) YES!
- odigity, on 09/23/2008, -8/+38I'm a pro-choice aethiest, so I clearly have some differences with Mr. Baldwin. But in the context of what his powers and priorities would be as President, I have almost no disagreement. In that role, he's very close do Ron Paul.
He's got my vote. - Archos, on 09/22/2008, -9/+38Chuck Baldwin on the New World Order

Chuck Baldwin Endorses Ron Paul
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c84pJ6E7BYg - NtrmDscrptr, on 09/22/2008, -14/+42I see what you're saying, but I'm not down with sacrificing one freedom for another.
A woman has a right to choose, period.
A prisoner has a right to habeus corpus, period.
If you support Chuck Baldwin, then I wish you luck. I don't think I can, for these reasons.
Edit: I just don't see this type of subjugation of women as "small stuff". I'm still on your side, supporting politicians like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, but I just can't support this. - inactive, on 09/23/2008, -5/+31Out of the options, perhaps he couldn't but Chuck Baldwin appears to e a "christian extremist". The man worked for Jerry Falwell in the 1980s, according to one of the youtube videos linked. What more do you need to make you feel a bit iffy about supporting him?
Ron Paul should have ran as a 3rd party. Period. - juankovo, on 09/22/2008, -16/+43Is Chuck Baldwin on the ballot in your state? Click here to find out: http://www.ballot-access.org/ballot-chart.html
Baldwin is on the ballot in 37 states. These states are where he is *NOT* on the ballot and you'll have to find an alternative: AZ, CA, CT, GA, IN, ME, MT, NH, NY, NC, OK, PA, TX, and D.C. - juankovo, on 09/22/2008, -10/+35Correction on my above post about ballot access, in case you missed it.
You can WRITE IN Baldwin in the states where he did not make the ballot. Because he is registered as a write-in candidate, your vote should be counted. Check with your state's elections board to make sure how to do a write-in correctly. - jfreeman, on 09/22/2008, -3/+26He's not telling anyone who to vote for. He's just saying who he will be voting for. He doesn't expect all of his supporters to follow that lead.
- tmlee, on 09/23/2008, -7/+30Wow. After doing some research I am becoming more inclined to vote Baldwin instead of Obama. While I don't think he will win thanks to our screwed up 2 party system, I think that a vote is an act of expressing my freedom and not a simple matter of choice.
- greencoat, on 09/22/2008, -5/+28Wow, just wow.
- noyritus, on 09/22/2008, -14/+36I have a few minor differences with Baldwin that was keeping me from supporting him all out, but.....
Baldwin08 it is!!
I'll be writing his name in from Texas. - inactive, on 09/23/2008, -2/+24"Once legally defined as a person, insisted Baldwin, every infant in the womb would thereby be guaranteed the right to life--under the U.S. Constitution."
- http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Chuck_Baldwin_Abor ...
yep, that sounds like a federal pro-life ruling to me - NtrmDscrptr, on 09/22/2008, -8/+29Chuck Baldwin's page on *immigration* (not "illegal immigration") says only one thing: "The first day Chuck Baldwin is in office as President is the last day Ramos and Compean spend in jail!"
Source:
http://baldwin08.com/Immigration.cfm
That reeks of xenophobia, and is inconsistent with his religious "sanctity of life" arguments regarding abortion.
Speaking of abortion, from his site:
"Under my administration, we could end legal abortion in a matter of days, not decades."

Don't get me wrong. I'd really like to support the guy Ron Paul just endorsed. I'm not dismissing him outright, and will do further research, but these two issues really make me hesitate. - PColaChic, on 09/23/2008, -12/+31I can't believe there are so many people in here who like Bob Barr! This is the same man who shunned Ron Paul's press conference to praise Bush's 9-11 "leadership". This is the same man who voted for the Patriot Act, the same ex-CIA agent who fought for the Drug War for years, the same fake Libertarian who used to support the Iraq War. Wake up, people!

- rmtatum, on 09/23/2008, -11/+28You are wrong.
"If I were President, I would use the bully pulpit of the White House to encourage Congress to pass Congressman Ron Paul's Sanctity of Life Act. In short, this bill would do two things: First, it would declare that unborn babies are persons under the law. Second, under the authority of Article. III. Section. 2. of the U.S. Constitution, it would remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the Court. In essence, this bill would immediately overturn Roe v. Wade and end legalized abortion."

- Charlotte_Web, on 09/23/2008, -0/+17Obama has voted with his party over 94% of the time -- most of the time when there is disagreement, he will vote "present" rather than buck his party. His VP choice is about as much of a Washington insider as you can possibly find. Obama even had ties to Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac.
People need to stop deluding themselves that Obama represents "change". Obama is just another Washington politician. - Burnse, on 09/22/2008, -13/+30Fantastic News!!!!!!!!!!!
Chuck Baldwin will be getting my write in vote!!!!! - toughpatriot, on 09/22/2008, -14/+30Woooooohooooooo
Im glad he made a decision and understand his logic. It was perfect. Im stoked!
Baldwin 08 - inactive, on 09/22/2008, -15/+31Friend Chuck on Digg!
http://digg.com/users/ChuckBaldwin - Meiun, on 09/23/2008, -1/+17Same here. I'm liking this Baldwin guy the more I hear from him. It seems he has an emphatic voice and doesn't dodge and issue or massage it politically. Tell it like it is Chuck!

BALDWIN IS A ***** PASTOR!! - rbrownclown, on 09/22/2008, -4/+19He will be a write-in candidate in most of the states you listed, so write-in votes for Chuck Baldwin will be counted.

- Jamsie567, on 09/23/2008, -2/+14You are not helping your country...
- arisenagain, on 09/22/2008, -8/+20Amazing, Amazing! Another vote for chuck here.
http://www.ronpaulplanet.com/ - huskerflyguy79, on 09/22/2008, -5/+17I just hope that through this Ron Paul and Dr. Chuck Baldwin with help from the Constitution Party can bring our country back to the Constitution. Back to our roots and foundation. Release us of the strangle hold that the status Quo has on the american people. Wake up America....
- digitronix, on 09/23/2008, -3/+15Murder isn't even handled at a federal level. Constitutionally, moral issues are to be handled at state levels, not the federal level. This is what Dr. Paul has been saying all along.
- vbullinger, on 09/22/2008, -11/+22Oh, come on, don't bury him because you disagree with his ideas. He made important points. I don't agree with him, but I'm not burying him.
Besides, a vote for Cynthia McKinney is a positive thing. She was at the press conference, too, and she's a wonderful person. One less vote for Obama. -
