AT&T to Add 3,000 Jobs, Invest Up to $18 Billion

cnbc.com — AT&T announced plans on Tuesday to add approximately 3,000 jobs in 2009 in order to support customer demand in its wireless, broadband and video businesses.

What they give you now is two tiers of support - the first level is someone with just really basic training who can deal with just really basic problems. The second level costs you min. $99, and it's "Fork out the cash now. No, we can't put it on your bill."

    (I got lucky and finally figured out that I had a problem with old Symantec files interfering with my Internet access, and fixed it with the Symantec removal tool. But if I'd had an extra 99 I probably would have wasted it on AT&T tech support or wasted money taking in my computer because of the wrong diagnosis from the "first tier" guy.)
