- victorguttmann, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Speaking as someone who has been using Fatwallet and Slickdeals for a few years now, they do not save you money but rather cause you to spend much much more.
Example from last week: "A Cinderella toaster that burns the image of her shoes into the bread and plays a song from the movie for $11?!?!? That's a steal!!!!" (I ordered 2)

- Fuzi, on 05/22/2008, -0/+3yeah, you need a lot of self control if you frequent those hot deals sites... anytime you see something you have to ask yourself do i really need it and you need to decide quick or it's out of stock or the deal is over.
- teddyrux, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2How much confidence can we really have in a company whose stock was worth 11x more in 2005?

- reignbow, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2Is there really a lot of investment from the eurozone? Investing in the US right now is a bet on the dollar; since your investments pay back in USD, you need to believe that it will not drop against the EUR much further than at your time of investment. I'm not willing to make that bet yet, so I haven't put money into the dollarzone in a while.
- Birdoftruth, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2Don't forget the sinple dollar and zenhabits.net

- arlok789, on 05/22/2008, -5/+1I feel like the huge amounts of money pouring in from Euro investment is going to help things stabilize. People need to just calm down. We will be alright. We are too important to the global economy to fail, China WILL bail us out if things get ugly. Then again, we might be too big to save too. It won't matter when we are all under water cause the icecaps melt now will it?
- bmcnally, on 05/22/2008, -9/+4I tend to use freegiveawayoftheday.com for software - they give away a different licensed software program each day for free.
woot.com is good once in a while, though you find your house quickly filling up with random crap
