- Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11@quic - funny, that's precisely how I feel about you!
- RexMaxus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Then why did you read it?
- Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8@dayz, TOO not two and also not to! For the love of everything holy didn't you pass the second grade?
- appletalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3To me, #3 is the most important of all
- brundlefly76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I never had a problem with #3 - I outsource everything.
#5 is the toughest lesson that I had to learn, and the learning of it never ends. - daofma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why is this getting dugg down? I thought the same thing until actually thinking about it.
- ray901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All of those mistakes boil down to a single issue: Not having enough money.
- animus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1as if digg is full of people who are capable of starting a business
- traffichoney, on 05/27/2009, -0/+0Living in the wrong area, which is in one of the comments above, may not always mean Silicon Valley. If your product is for the technorati yes. But if your mass market and revenue source is the non-tech savvy crowd being here may give your product vision blinders!
- Youtool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A common mistake is selling too much (#3). An Excellent product and high sales does it for me.
- phreak79, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They missed out the two pretty big issues.
#6 Make sure you have the right team. It's unlikely that you'll know how to do everything (or indeed have time to) plus VC's and other investors will look at your team above practically anything else. It's rare for sole traders to get big.
#7 Living in the wrong area. In order to attract the right team, plus other support services, you need to be in the right area. It's no surprise that places like Silicon Valley give berth to so many start-ups. - CChris89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0An excellent product and high sales does it for me also. Xango!! www.thatsgreatjuice.som
- malhombre, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2@skitzzo, you mean grade too?
- garths, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0#6 Messing around on digg when you should be running your business.
- SuperCUBE, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Could you have been any more vague with the title or description?
- DrPill, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I already knew about this stuff. There is like 1,000,000 start up mistake articles on the web...why did you write another?
- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Sounds like the 5 most comming mistakes in general.
- khag7, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2same :-/
- Dayz, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3me two
- fober, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5Damn, I thought this was about the Windows startup.
