- CatalunyaBob, on 02/13/2008, -0/+64Ha, just try passing one of these off at the corner market. Its hard enough sometimes with a $2 bill!
- Escamotage, on 02/13/2008, -0/+49"These bills would only be for the hardcore collectors."
Yeah. I'm a hardcore collector of money, myself. - inactive, on 02/13/2008, -4/+42no no no! Burns had a $1 trillion bill.
- KraftDinner101, on 02/13/2008, -1/+30Did the blogger really have to say that you can find the bills online in each paragraph?
- itsameericle, on 02/13/2008, -1/+26The unknown collection that we just happen to know about.
- m00kie, on 02/13/2008, -2/+23Try the Clinton $3 bill.
- crazybugger, on 02/13/2008, -0/+18I just remember $1 Million from Zimbabwe.
- Phernoree, on 02/13/2008, -3/+21CLERK: What I this a hundred thousand? I can't change a hundred thousand.
GEORGE: Why not?
CLERK: You got to buy more than that.
KRAMER: Here, get a newspaper.
GEORGE: A newspaper.
CLERK: That's not enough.
KRAMER: A Clark Bar.
GEORGE: Clark Bar.
CLERK: Keep going. - INDOAZZ, on 02/13/2008, -2/+14$100,000 BILL - GOVT. transactions only. Typical-
- jun2san, on 02/13/2008, -1/+12I saw one of these one the ground the other day. I got excited until I realized it was just a religious ad.
- highdef, on 02/13/2008, -2/+11What's sad is that you believe this. I get $2 bills every-time I go to the bank. I use them as tips at the bar. They are still being reprinted and are legal tender. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_two-dol ... . Perhaps you were referring to Woz when you made you're ridiculous statement - he didn't get stopped because he was using $2 bills it was because he bought them as sheets direct from the Bureau of Engraving and had them made into booklets. I recommend you get some $2 bills the next time you are at the bank. It's fun and entertaining.
- theangrybaby, on 02/13/2008, -1/+8Its funny that Grover Cleveland is on the $1000 bill, as he was strictly against inflationary policies and backed the gold standard (most of these higher up bills were released during the Great Depression)
- onefatfrog, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7Remember when that woman tried to pass a fake $1,000,000 bill at a Wal-Mart? Even if anyone would have believed that it was real, what kind of moron expects a Wal-Mart to have that kind of change! "I would like this pack of Wrigley's gum, do you have change for a million?"
- strangewill, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7Oh just wait, soon enough they'll have to bring these back into circulation. ;)
- Theisos, on 02/13/2008, -1/+7No - it isn't worth anything physical. It's worth your time and effort. I usually trade my time and effort for beer and chips.
- atbnet, on 02/13/2008, -0/+6It wasn't added to paper money until 1957.
- phosphenes, on 02/13/2008, -2/+8They were handing out million dollar bills with the statue of liberty on them at the flea market the other day. Those were real, right? Please?
- tango1110, on 02/13/2008, -2/+8Is that a young Wilford Brimley on the $1,000?
- dsmx, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5May I see?
- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5Sadly, many don't realize the truth to your statement.
- Enlightenment, on 02/13/2008, -2/+7yeah, like so what, old news that you find almost anywhere, f*cking quit making lists of known information, a$$holes. http://www.moneyfactory.gov/section.cfm/5/42
The best one that I've seen lately is the Bush $0 Dollar Bill. - kensavage, on 02/13/2008, -1/+6hardcore collectors only!
- Zain123, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5Are you saying I can find these bills online?
- yaroze, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5I think they are reserving that for GW Bush, since he like to spend that much.
- plundstedt, on 02/13/2008, -1/+5I was referring to this: http://www.digg.com/politics/Man_arrested_cuffed_f ...

I don't know why it's sad that I believe this...it actually happened. People are so foolish today that they don't even think a $2 bill is real? Give me a BREAK!
And yes, I have some $2 bills, but I keep them at home because I like to collect them. - jkirk7msa, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4I knew someone would notice besides me!!!!
- lolinyerface, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4Or step on one carton of cigarettes.
- shakbhaji, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3before he got the 'beetis.
- TedTschopp, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3Yes, yes it is.
- bigbill780, on 02/13/2008, -1/+4"The United States issued the printing of a one trillion dollar bill to make good on President Truman's Drunken Boast. It was then given to America's wealthiest and therefore most trusted citizen, C. Montgomery Burns."
- tomgibbons, on 02/13/2008, -0/+3Your post got messed up. Here's the link:

- shark72, on 02/13/2008, -1/+4If you work in retail and you pay attention, you'll still see silver certificates come by from time to time. They look remarkably similar to modern money. My guess is that they're still in circulation because occasionally grandma's mattress stash (no, not THAT kind) gets raided.
I'm pretty sure that you can no longer go somewhere to redeem them for silver. - vertigoblue, on 02/13/2008, -1/+4my great grandma gave me a $500 bill when i was like 8 or 9. i thought i was rich!
then i took it to the bank a couple years later and just put it in an account. i wish i knew it was worth more than $500. - franklymister, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2They're not dollar bills, they're a five hundred dollar bill, a thousand dollar bill, etc. Oh, and they're not unknown.
- theangrybaby, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2Yes man, cause that would be so radical right? Having to spend $1,000,000 to buy a loaf of bread, totally awesome!
- SSUK, on 02/13/2008, -1/+3*****.
*****.
Stop censoring yourself. - Nougat, on 02/13/2008, -1/+3That would make sense, seeing as how all presidents until now have been green.
- mugsoh, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2No, not all bills were. The first notes were called "Legal Tenders". Then there were the National Bank Notes issued by chartered banks with their own counter stamp. Also United States Notes were issued from the 1860s to the 1960s. Beginning in the mid 19teens Federal Reserve Bank Notes, then Federal Reserve Notes were issued. Most all of these circulated simultaneously.
- CaviMike, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2***** the Benjamins, it's all about the Wilsons.
- dave6, on 02/13/2008, -1/+3Yugoslavia once printed a 500 billion dinar note: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:500000000000_di ...
Also, here's 100 million marks from 1920s Germany http://www.usagold.com/images/hyperinflation.jpeg - mugsoh, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2 I guess George Bush is on the $9 Trillion note?
- rbond, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2Just start knocking beer and wine off of the shelves. Then you may get some change.
- Tgg161, on 02/13/2008, -0/+2You probably couldn't use these in a store, even if you wanted to. Stores are not required to accept all denominations of cash.
Cash is legal tender for all DEBTS, public and private. Creditors (like banks) can't refuse cash, but stores can. - inactive, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1"They then were then allowed to " ???
- Cherubim, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Flooding the economy with money simply creates inflation - the Fed is very good at doing this and charges interest on all this "borrowed" money put into circulation. As a result, the value of money decreases and we end up with price rises. The Fed should be abolished and Congress should be given back the right to issue currency.
- bagelmaster, on 02/13/2008, -2/+3I always thought it was illegal to photocopy any dollar bill. So how does wikipedia get away with having the two dollar on it like that? Just wondering
- karatekommando, on 02/13/2008, -0/+1It's sad to think that one piece of paper is worth more than I ever will be.
- asylumua, on 02/13/2008, -1/+2New antiwar motto. "Get out of Iraq to keep the $10,000 bill from going into circulation again!!!"
- Herostratus, on 02/13/2008, -1/+2All bills used to be silver or gold certificates. The writer seemed to be unaware of this...
