- micropizzle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+150I love how there is a Google ad for Wells Fargo on the side ------------------->.
- JimmyDushku, on 10/12/2007, -1/+94Did Wells Fargo's P.I.s watch him make this post on digg too?
- signal15, on 10/12/2007, -5/+96Wells Fargo ***** me. I got a second mortgage from them... The paperwork I signed said 6.5% interest (this was when rates were really low) and 15 year fixed. I read them twice and was told by the mortgage guy that this was what it was. I signed the papers, and asked for a copy. They said they would send me the copy, BIG mistake. When I got it, it said 6.5% interest... and at the top of the next page it added that it was the current prime rate plus whatever... I know those bastards switched it out on me, I'm 100% positive. The rate is sitting at like 10.5% right now. There is no way I would knowingly sign for an ARM, and because my signature is only on the last page, they could of switched any of it out.
I have no idea how to go after them for it. The guy that gave me the loan isn't even there anymore, and I think the manager at that branch left too. Of course no one higher up at WF believes me. - sylentmode, on 10/12/2007, -2/+66i don't see how Wells Fargo could be scared.....when nobody looking at this site can understand whats going on.
plus the site is ugly - twertyto, on 10/12/2007, -2/+64I can't understand what is the website is about. Note to Cyrus...format your site so that the average member of the general public can understand what message your trying to get across. All I can gather is that he's mad at Wells Fargo and ORIX (whoever they are) because they are "bad people".
@micropizzle
I wouldn't know since Adblock extension is on! - unlimitedorb, on 10/12/2007, -23/+74I love it when people stick it to the man.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+48From the About section:
This website is dedicated to all the victims of Wells Fargo & ORIX's predatory lending and discriminatory practices including;
1) All borrowers and guarantors who lost assets, were stripped of equity, incurred physical and emotional injuries, or lost their lives upon loss of their life-time earnings.
2) All investors who have lost their pension funds and retirement investments in CMBS bonds (certificateholders).
3) All tenants of the seized commercial and residential properties who suffered neglect and mismanagement at the hands of Receiver/Keepers of the seized properties due to health and safety violations, fires, shootings, theft or drowning.
Especially the owner of of Empire Center Dallas, who died of a heart attack after his property was seized as reported in ORIX' servicing report. Also, Justin & Daren Ruffin, twin brothers that drowned in a seized apartment's pool. - Anthem26, on 10/12/2007, -11/+50Very ironic, that out of all the banks, Bank of "America" is the one offering new special credit cards exclusively to "illegal immigrants".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I just closed my BOA account about 2 weeks ago and switched to Washington Mutal (no hidden fees REALLY) and have been VERY happy with my choice as I am reminded each day.
- Keach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35"He's currently being followed by their private investigators."
This should be called what it is. Stalking. - salmahayyek, on 10/12/2007, -6/+39Bank of America is even worse.
- masgrada, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33He needs to put his videos on youtube or something. Then every retard on there will watch it.
- gldfshnpcklejar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27Nope I keep all of my money at home in a mattress.
- thetallguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26I think this link explains why some people are hitting on Wells Fargo:
http://www.wellsfargoproblems.org/index.php?id=1441
As to why this kid is doing it, who knows! - LegalSatire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26Yeah - I fished around and read back a ways through the posts, but short of a pile of cases and "Picks of the Week," I couldn't find a layout of what this was all about. He makes some odd reference on the "About" page claiming that Wells Fargo effectively drowned a pair of twins through their practices, but no explanation as to how.
There may be some substance here, but until its pulled together, it won't be making an impact on much of anyone. - phlux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22how about a summary of what/why this site is up.
The About section on there gives only a little info...
The other pages dont seem to lead to a concise description of what/why predatorix is doing to wells fargo... - bigred, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I'm sure WF is now pretty happy it got dugg, because the site is down.
- BrownV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20My wife and I went through Wells Fargo for our mortgage and car loan. Both of which have been a horrible experience. Form their sales people to the customer service. When we tried to sell our home and were trying to get out of it quickly they drug their feet for months and wouldn't even return our real estate agents calls or faxes. We had all of our information ready to go and they were the key factor in what screwed up the sale of our home. Luckily I had a VA loan and the VA jumped on them because it was screwing with their paper work etc.
Needless to say I will never again go through Wells Fargo. - signal15, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Yes, refinance of only my second mortgage, with about another $20k added on for some kitchen remodeling. The story is actually a bit longer than what I posted above. Originally I called the mortgage department and applied over the phone. The woman on the phone said I qualified for a 6.5% 15-year fixed with no closing costs, which is unheard of for a second mortgage. They sent me a truth in lending statement, and then tried to back out of it. I threatened them with legal action, and this is when they called me into the local branch and "gave" me what I was originally told. Except, they switched out one of the pages on me after I signed it.
The woman who originally quoted me those rates was fired. - wonderchemist, on 10/12/2007, -12/+29Going to get dugg down, but:
Fees aren't hidden, they are clearly listed in the account rules.
For people who don't have time to read or understand the account rules I ask:
Why would you give your money to a bank without reading the rules? Or taking the time to ask questions on passages you don't understand? Do you care that little about your own money you aren't willing to spend a few minutes to read the rules? - sylentmode, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19how so?
I'd like to know because of friend of mine will be getting a mortgage loan through them. - toolow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15They actually refused to let us make a payment early. Go figure. I forget their reasoning, but they did.
- VhaidraU, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15If anyone can tell me exactly what is going on and exactly what Wells Fargo has done to this kid, please tell me as the web site does not make this clear at all.
- tfedullo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13site taken down
mirror for the late comers
http://duggmirror.com/business_finance/18_yr_old_kid_is_scaring_the_pants_off_Wells_Fargo/ - toolow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Wells Fargo aka "Option One". This is who I have my mortgage through and yes, they are horrible people. I can't wait to get my credit score up a little higher so I can go with another company.
- AnotherName, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13agreed w legalsatire, the first page should be a short overview of what the hell this is about in plain and simple english.
- SirGrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12The whole "being followed by Private Investigators" isn't something that only Wells Fargo does. My friend Brett Hanover (featured on Digg here http://digg.com/movies/Scientology_Censorship_The_Bridge ) had this done to him while he was at art school. The Scientology hired PI dug up enough information to blackmail him into removing his name from the documentary.
Evil. - JavertHolmes, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Why let facts get in the way when you can create a sensationalist headline and have people digg it up because they hate The Man (TM) and/or Wells Fargo? The fact that you're getting dugg down just for asking is a sign of who is appreciating this story. The headline should link to an article which explains the site/story better, or at least to an area of the site which explains *his* story better.
I'm sure this person has a legitimate claim to make, but the headline/article doesn't do it any justice.
As for learning more about his situation, even the About page on the site is contradictory, saying it's a page dedicated to the victims(1), while simultaneously having a disclaimer at the bottom saying it's a personal site to index various documents(2). It lists a group of people it's dedicated to, while listing none of the author's personal issues with the companies involved.
(1) - "This website is dedicated to all the victims of Wells Fargo & ORIX's predatory lending and discriminatory practices"
(2) - "*DISCLAIMER* This is my private information and opinion. This site is for my own use and benefit." - DonCarcharo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I had a small student loan around $3K that was financed through wells Fargo. I took the loan out back in 1999 and it was set to autopay around $75 monthly so I essentially forgot about it among my other student loans. Well sometime last year I was going through my finances and noticed I'd still been paying it. I'd since moved and I hadn't actually been receiving invoices so I called in and got my balance.
$5600
The autopay they set up for me not only wasn't paying off the loan it was increasing the principle balance the whole time. Granted I should have been on top of this and I should have caught it so I accept responsibility. But you just know this is happening all the time to people who don't know any better (or are inept like myself). - auxplage, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14@Anthem 26
That is because Bank of America was a bank founded by immigrants for immigrants to my knowledge. - bsmeteronhigh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Our congress and senate get a massive infusion of campaign funds from banks and credit card companies. Nothing will change unless change is made.

- c2y0r0u5s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I was waiting for someone who knew about CMBS and REMICs! Read the complaint and youll understand what they are doing! I think youll find interesting how they double (actually, its more like 10 times) their money by making advances to artificially respirate their B-Pieces which would have been junked due to foreclosures and liquidations of loans. They get reimbursed for their advances, plus interest. This guy, who is in on it, explains advances. They take money from one pocket and put it in the other. Everytime they do that, they get reimbursed. They get $1 as an investor from distributions and get reimbursed on their $1 as a servicer. Realistically, this is done on a millions-of-dollars-a-month basis.
Kovacevich is the return of Michael Milken!!
PS, im a junior at University of Houston (I began college at 15). I am finishing college ASAP! I will most likely have my masters by the time im 21 and I will then grab a law degree by 24 or so. - Run4ny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I have three bank accounts with three separate banks: Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Zions Bank (a bank in Utah). I am very unhappy with Bank of America and Wells Fargo. They are the only banks that have given me problems, outrageous fees and extremely annoying telemarketing calls with mortgage offers and so on. I plan to close my accounts and stay with Zions.
My advice: Stick with your local smaller banks. Screw the large national banks. - marinist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6WFC holds the greatest amount of subprime paper, in terms of market share.
I think they'll get bit hard as foreclosures mount.
http://tinyurl.com/27ymnh - ohmytodd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7haha! That was the worst reference ever and I loved it.
- Blackbow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I hate Wells Fargo with a passion. I hope he succeeds.
- c2y0r0u5s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I did the research and discovered the fraud/violations and started a site about it. Around the same time I (my company which had invested in securites which were being screwed/mismanaged by Wells Fargo) filed suit in the Federal Court of Dallas. They sued my 14 year old brother simply to harrass the family, as he had no involvement in the site.
Everything on the site boils down to this. Wells Fargo booked over $12,000,000,000 in Mortgage Servicing Rights (basically, they book the right to screw people as an asset) and issued shares to management. Little by little, they are diluting the power of shareholders (as they have rejected every shareholder proposal since 2002) and taking over more and more of the company by booking more and more MSRs yearly.
I would like to note that Wells Fargo wasnt always a bad company. It was taken over in 1998 by Richard Kovacevich who was the President, Chairman, and CEO of Norwest, who then integraded his crooked schematics into the company (which is why the logo for Predatorix is a Wolf in Sheeps clothing). - royceguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Ten years ago I sat in front of a Wells Fargo with a sign 'cause I was pissed they manipulated some overdraft charges from a legimate $20 to $220. It took four hours of talking to people walking in but they finally caved.
These kids put me to shame and are my new heros. - praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+6Why doesn't he just kill the P.I.s? Sure, he might go to jail...but at least Wells Fargo would admit they had P.I.s sent after him.
Maybe I've been watching too many movies. - c2y0r0u5s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7They countersued me and my website for no good reason. Anways, the federal judge rejected their claims "in its entirety". Wells Fargo = Happy - JavertHolmes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Right, and mortgage brokers won't rip you off. Please read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yield_spread_premium if you believe this.
To make it clear: their incentive is to charge YOU an interest ate higher than you qualify for. They get REWARDED for this.
You were right about reading the fine print, though. - c2y0r0u5s, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Hello everyone, I am Cyrus. There has been so much traffic that my site went down. I am contacting the host to upgrade my package (I had 50GB of bandwidth). There is another mirror of my site at www.predatorix.cn but I am not sure how long that site can hold. To contact me, email me at cyrus@predatorix.com and I would be glad to discuss anything with you. To see the original complaint filed in the Federal Court in Dallas, read www.predatorix.cn/files/SFEvsORIX.pdf

Yes, there are hidden fees that can be hidden to various degrees. One way this can work is a combination of two things that commonly happen individually but result in a hidden fee when combined.
* The title company typically gets you to agree to granting them or your realtor a "limited" power of attorney which lets them do stuff including like sign spaces you forgot to sign. This lets them add your signature to a page; apparently even one that wasn't shown to you at the signing.
* The bank can incorrectly prepare some documents (say, by putting a subordination fee on a loan that shouldn't have one) - and when called on it they agree to remove it. Then they conveniently "lose" the corrected one. This correcting & losing the correction can happen numerous times.
The two tricks can be combined so that you never see the fee return; because even at the signing with the title company the bank didn't provide the corrected document --- and they insert the uncorrected one after the fact. Typically the victim has no opportunity to fight it at that point because of deadlines in the terms of the closing of the property.
No doubt it's illegal somehow but the cost of the fee is less than the cost of a lawyer to fight it; so it doesn't get challenged; and it's profitable for lenders to keep doing it. - COINTELPRO, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7If you sue a company, they will do all kinds of crazy ***** to you. This is just the beginning, they will blacklist him when he goes looking for job. I would stay off the phone (random payphones), assume your banks accounts are monitored, and be careful of what you do online. They will also pay a visit to anybody that knows you asking questions.
Companies are evil SOB. - pirashkee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Cyrus has done a great job. If just a little portion of us had those guts, we'd be living in a better world.
