- mpind007, on 01/12/2008, -5/+15Great lessons! Especially from Warren Buffet "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it."
- arcooke, on 01/12/2008, -2/+5Thanks for repeating what we just read...
- jdpalite, on 01/12/2008, -0/+3And thanks to the internet, your ruined reputation has never been easier to find...
- jquipp, on 01/12/2008, -7/+4Steve Jobs says it well. Anticipating the needs before hand is key.
- irgeek, on 01/12/2008, -0/+3Well yeah.... That and working capital. Otherwise u can anticipate all day and no one will ever know.
- Jorge777, on 01/12/2008, -0/+3I like how Michael Dell contradicts it in a way with his quote right after it.
- irgeek, on 01/12/2008, -0/+3Well yeah.... That and working capital. Otherwise u can anticipate all day and no one will ever know.
- alexander13, on 01/12/2008, -1/+20I love this quote from Einstein "INtellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them."
- ToeCracker, on 01/12/2008, -5/+2An excellent collection of mega rich people who can teach all of us a thing or 2 about success.
- supernova17, on 01/12/2008, -2/+10Branson is the man.
- bamafun, on 01/12/2008, -2/+3Branson is my favorite too - he has some awesome business videos up at youtube
- ToeCracker, on 01/12/2008, -2/+2And people mocked him when he started for 'dumb idea'. Who are the dumb asses now.
- bamafun, on 01/12/2008, -2/+3Branson is my favorite too - he has some awesome business videos up at youtube
- Burento, on 01/12/2008, -3/+10I love Rockafellers approach.. Teach average people to do above average things.
- porcelainduck, on 01/12/2008, -2/+2I think his quoters outdated - the average people don't want to do above average things
- agentmedia, on 01/12/2008, -1/+6He forgot to add "while managing them with a national ID card"
- funk49, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1If the average people are doing the work of superior people, wouldn't that make THEM superior people?
- jentech, on 01/12/2008, -5/+1Very good collection!
- DeskFlyer, on 01/12/2008, -3/+9Docstoc sucks goat balls.
- alexkolokol, on 01/12/2008, -0/+6Nothing new, they did not say. All lessons are well known.
- my8bird, on 01/12/2008, -4/+2Steve Jobs quote is so great. It shows that he does not care or value what we, consumers want. Instead he is going to give people what he thinks they want.
- gator2000, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1So far so good with that, huh.
- adooga, on 01/12/2008, -1/+1Cold.
- jessecrouch, on 01/12/2008, -0/+7These were good.. but what the hell is Ayn Rand doing in this collection?
- albinorhino101, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1my thoughts exactly
- D3koy, on 01/12/2008, -2/+3Take home message:
the best way to succeed in business is to hate women, even if you are one... - fastupfront, on 01/16/2008, -0/+0I think they needed a token female.
- cowtipper179, on 01/12/2008, -1/+6That's all trump had to offer? "Think big."
lame- adooga, on 01/12/2008, -2/+1When has Trump ever offered anything else?
Also he looks slightly gay in that photo.
- adooga, on 01/12/2008, -2/+1When has Trump ever offered anything else?
- Nougat, on 01/12/2008, -0/+7Since when is Ayn Rand a business master?
- Bodhinature, on 01/12/2008, -1/+4Ayn Rand is a hack.
- NAUreport, on 01/12/2008, -0/+13"Some even believe we (the Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure---one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."
--David Rockefeller, Memoirs, page 405- devinjohnson2, on 01/12/2008, -2/+2When will people wake up?
- ThyLabyrinth, on 01/12/2008, -1/+3The ignorance that drips from that quote is both infuriating and disheartening.
These 'internationalists' -if successful- will be the only ones to profit from the global integration.
Reducing the rest of the population to a numbered, chipped, rabble.
The individual, dehumanized, forever confined to his/her tiny urban dwelling while Rockefeller and Friends roam the planet and dispose of it as they please.
The ultimate form of totalitarianism if you ask me.
- agentmedia, on 01/12/2008, -0/+13Am i the only one who hates those flash pdf viewers, especially when its being used to display 12 quotes.
- adooga, on 01/12/2008, -0/+2No, I share your hate. You are not alone.
- fastupfront, on 01/16/2008, -0/+0Me three. It took me a minute to realize where the rest of the quotes were.
- adooga, on 01/12/2008, -0/+2No, I share your hate. You are not alone.
- MrLeEx, on 01/12/2008, -2/+1anyone got this to download? cbf reg.
- forestyaser, on 01/12/2008, -4/+0严格来说,这不属于新闻
- 6c602, on 01/12/2008, -2/+0Very good collection!
- adooga, on 01/12/2008, -0/+4Very insightful comment!
- flawlessjess, on 01/12/2008, -2/+1would one of those lessons be don't throw chairs?
- zymase13, on 01/12/2008, -1/+5These aren't lessons, just random quotes... Worthless
- fastupfront, on 01/16/2008, -0/+0I also was disappointed that there wasn't more information. A quote isn't really that much to go on.
- Ebeach, on 01/12/2008, -1/+0its a link to a link to a link....***** that, buried
- honestpen, on 01/12/2008, -0/+2Ayn Rand? You've got to be ***** kidding me.
- anchor, on 01/12/2008, -1/+1Thank god everyone else agrees that Ayn Rand has no business here... ***** you "The Fountainhead"!
- WhoDoneIt, on 01/12/2008, -1/+1So Jobs basically says don't listen to the customers wants and needs and Dell, the next quote in line says you need to listen to the customer and do what they ask.
Got it. This should help me. /sarcasm - jdpalite, on 01/12/2008, -0/+3The Jobs and Dell quotes are very interesting. Dell takes what most people want and sells a ton of them. Apple pushes the envelope - and has had some product failures in the past. Both companies have completely different marketing plans and segments but both are quite successful.
- SIRBERUS, on 01/12/2008, -0/+2My favorite quote is from billionaire founder of Kinkos, Paul Orfalea:
"The A students work for the B students;
The B students lease their offices from the C students;
And the D students dedicate the buildings." - sensoukami, on 01/12/2008, -0/+2I love all these people complaining about Ayn Rand. Granted she is not a "business master" but her work and influence have long outlived her in a profound way. Can't say the same thing for the people complaining about her...
- CY13ERPUNK, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1ah, finally a voice of reason, and well said
- bloatedbelly, on 01/12/2008, -1/+0And all those super-wealthy folks are able to do what they do while standing upon the backs of countless millions who grow and harvest and transport the food.
While others build and maintain the infrastructure.
And, where would those wealthy be without their workers?
If those uber-wealthy are so wonderful I want to see them divest themselves of their workers and run the biz alone.
It takes team work to create a society/country but it's the "coaches" who get the greatest portion of the rewards while the "players" too-often scramble for the leftovers. - plumfan, on 01/12/2008, -0/+2who dugg this crap?
- farffa, on 01/13/2008, -0/+0Nice! Thanks for sharing. Those guys really know what they are talking about.
- Nomad3486, on 01/20/2008, -0/+1Ayn Rand's philosophy has helped build many successful businesses, whether directly or indirectly. The most important thing to remember, though, when considering Objectivism seriously is to be careful of everyone you step on, on your way up, because you'll meet them all again on the way down...
- sketec, on 01/21/2008, -0/+111, there are 11 and they aren't that great. I'm doing fine without their "lessons". My lesson to you all would be: "Go against the norm to bring in a crowd, but keep the crown under control." Basically, you need to realize who and what your up against (competitors) and do something different, or something they aren't doing at all (or do it better) and don't mess up early in the game by not meeting customer demand.
- cheapmattresses, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0http://astore.amazon.com/cheap.mattresses-20/
http://astore.amazon.com/buy.cheap.scrubs-20/
http://astore.amazon.com/buy.cheap.rugs-20/ - drarlene, 9 hr 39 min ago, -0/+0All makes sense to me. I agree, Branson has them all beat hands down....and he was no trust fund baby either. He was just smart.
