http://doganalglands.com/ - centran, on 06/23/2009, -1/+5This is actually very good advice. Just make sure not to only follow the social media or job search ideas. You need to get out and do something. It is not only for your mental health but interviewers hate to see long breaks in your employment history. If you have a break of more than 2-3 months then expect to be asked about it.
I am currently unemployed and decided to go back to school full-time since I never got my degree. It is the first time in 10 years I haven't had a job. I am a little worried how that will look on a resume but hopefully the excuse of "I was getting my degree" will offset it. I hope it doesn't come back to bite me on my ass.
Late 20s and still in college... is that a bad or good thing? - Pinkertinkle, on 06/23/2009, -1/+5cry yourself to sleep every night
- sockpuppets, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Anyone looking to hire a puppet?

- Hpot17, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2wtf...
- robmilmel, on 06/23/2009, -2/+4Yeah! It pretty much assures a future employer that you'll spend your work day on important stuff... not trivial, time-wasting crap like work!
- ShyGuy91284, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2The harder task is staying marketable while working a job to pay the bills that doesn't really take full advantage of your education or have you doing what you would really like to do.
- singlecoach, on 06/23/2009, -2/+4Use of social media is the perfect one!
- Barackalypse, on 06/23/2009, -1/+3Half of these are really just some form of marketing yourself which is not keeping you marketable as the article suggests. Keeping you marketable involves using your existing skills or gaining new ones, not networking to try and drum up job prospects.
- grantmoore3d, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2Good, it shows you have initiative, that you've matured and are now seriously about your career.

- AraleNorimaki, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Look, I've boned a lot of fat chicks in my time, sure. But, as far back as I can remember, I've never fornicated anybody.
- Elranzer, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1That doesn't mean dicking around all day on Facebook and Digg, though.
- AraleNorimaki, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Do you mean sexual?
- Nickolassc, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Die in a fire!
- recruz, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1wait until you're 40 .... haha just kidding- naw, you can be all that and more- keep it up!
- jcweezy, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1Great ideas especially for those stay home mom out there and for whose unemployed. thanks for sharing!
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -2/+2Wait, there's a recession going on and employers expect people to not have breaks in work???
wtf???
Further proof that the process of employing people to work for you needs drastic changes and alterations in thinking processes, good god... - hpodity, on 06/23/2009, -1/+116. Take technical training in areas that don't require a lot of time to earn certification, such as IT and small electronic repair.

- buu2, on 06/23/2009, -2/+1Wow. I'm a student and I'm doing all of them. I'm ahead of the game (for those wondering how I can take classes and teach at the same time, you could be a TA. I happen to teach special lecture one-off segments)
If I could be active at 19, surely those in their 40's with more experience should be able to do the same. - rsmith32, on 06/23/2009, -3/+112. Breast implants
