- SilentJay74, on 10/13/2007, -11/+7Good read and good points.
- spanner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1He has missed one of the crucial problems with blogging software that realates to how much you should blog.
Old entires in blogs are effectivly lost. They stop getting read and lose effectivenss as income earners and google indexing.
Personally I would'nt recommned to anyone seriously getting into the internet to use the blogging structure. It has far to many limitations and weaknessess that are easily overcome with vanilla html pages or forum software. Old posts can still be good posts and should be indexable on their own and structured in a format that they are easily seen and indexed.

- houstong74, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24I would rather see two or three quality posts per week as opposed to 5 lower quality posts
- PATSCRU, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5who the ***** dugg you down?
Blogging is at times the cancer of journalism...and any improvement in the medium is more than welcomed. - worldsbestgamer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I don't know. I think I just read a bad quality blog posting about bad quality blogging.
I can't take the article serious.
"Like oh my god. everyday posting is sooooo 1.0. I mean duh we are in 2.0 now and have been for 12 months."
- PATSCRU, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5who the ***** dugg you down?
- vango, on 10/13/2007, -13/+7buried - practice makes perfect. the idea that writing is so sacred is a foolish one. would you want your gf to say she only wants a few "quality" sessions as opposed to as many as you can get? blogging should be no different - do it whenever you can.
- bingobongony, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2IF you area blogger, talking about quality sessions with your girlfriend is a fantasy. The point is, no one cares, or ever will care about your feelings on anything.
13 year old girls have enough sense to keep their diaries private. You apparently don't have that same sense. - luckyllama, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I'm not sure what "session" means but there are times when a few "quality" sessions would be preferred by your significant other. Would you rather talk about the weather everyday or talk about something meaningful every other day? Would you rather have sex daily but never orgasm or have sex once a week that was actually satisfying.
I believe that is the premise the author is going for. - PATSCRU, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Practice makes perfect, indeed, but no great writer publishes his practice....it's a personal experience, and when ready, the writer can publish his final product.
- bingobongony, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2IF you area blogger, talking about quality sessions with your girlfriend is a fantasy. The point is, no one cares, or ever will care about your feelings on anything.
- axisofphilippe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5211. No one cares about what you think.
- nicko68, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I totally agree. Web 2.0 - It's all about ME!
- nicko68, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1BTW, I'm not saying it's literally all about me, I'm saying that Web 2.0 seems to be geared towards everyone talking about themselves.
- nicko68, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I totally agree. Web 2.0 - It's all about ME!
- groundctrl, on 10/13/2007, -9/+3very good post, seriously. really enjoyed it
- DangerMouse9, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Hey, the National Enquirer just called. They said "No one gives a *****."
- ryanknapper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I update my blog annually and I've never been more popular!
- NonpareilNagle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Quantity over quality... at first
- DocHoliday22, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I don't mind reading blog entries if it's not crap. Most of them are. Occasionally you will come across a blog where you end up liking it, then you check all the previous entries.
- orlyfactor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Dugg down for the asshat "Web 1.0" comment.
- skweaz, on 10/13/2007, -11/+1Dugg down for using "asshat"
- vofuse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30Buried for saying "So web 1.0".
- bingobongony, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3This article is EXACTLY right. However, it is unclear what they meant. It means Every day you should not blog. Every day for the rest of your life, you should not be blogging.
Trust me...you wqill be happier for it 10 years for now. No one has EVER said on their deathbed "If only I had blogged more."- gajillion, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I did.
- staffrocket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8They forgot the #1 reason: No one reads your blog
- wonky73, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Buried for some dude rambling on about things being.. "soo web 1.0."
- slunktoday, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Buried for the irony. The name of the site that hosting the article: "Marketing Prof DAILY FIX Blog"
- mahela, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Quantity over quality... at first
- IsmaelZ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Funny that the website itself says 'daily fix'...
- MrUnderbridge, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Is this a spoof, or did that moron just talk about the impact of frequent blogging upon the 'blogosphere' without a hint of sarcasm?
- BassXXX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0His ideas should be given a name.
- briankoenig03, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This coming from a site that has "dailyfix" in its URL....
- HanSolo69, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1headline should read "I'm a lazy ***** and don't feel like updating my blog everyday."
- JamesZB, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Hmm I don't remember when Firefox opened up on me and asked if I wanted to download Web 2.0 a year ago.
- worldsbestgamer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This guy is a joke. I wonder if he posts everyday.
"Like oh my god. Everyday posting is sooooo 1.0. I mean duh we are in 2.0 now and have been for 12 months." - thejoshuablog, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Oh, Thank God. I'm exhausted. I'm taking tomorrow off. Period. End of story. Unless I read something that pisses me off.
- IntaglioSunSet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I don't know what to say really, I think what the guy was trying to get at was quality over quantity better yet I think you should just aim to have good content that hopefully readers find interesting.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Most significant point;
"
#8 - Frequent posting will push corporate bloggers into the hands of PR agencies – As they struggle with bandwidth constraints as well as peer pressure to join the blogosphere, more and more companies will resort to partnering with their PR agencies to create blogs. The blogosphere will in turn lose some of its effectiveness and value.
"
>> I translate that as "Blog Spam" -- it will be kind of obvious, like; "Interesting article about Anna Nicole Smith being spotted at a swank restaurant in Boca Raton -- with pics." Then you get to the blog and it mentions how blogger "SixGuns" got something grown and something shrunk with this miracle ointment.
You can already see this all over You-tube, as people and "independent" marketers seek to propagandize other humans. Or we can see it on Wikipedia, where candidates, the CIA and Crook Inc. deputize myriad employees to "massage their image." Between the lobbyists efforts to create a two-lane highway on the internets; fast for business, slow for truth, and the various "protect the children" laws that do nothing to protect children, it seems very clear that our society is circling the drain.
Creating huge amounts of content -- like frequent blogging, is pointless. There are only so many eyeballs -- and more of them are blogging themselves, when they aren't actively acting like pimps for some PR firm, that is. So Quality is the only thing that matters -- the cheap thrills and low hanging fruit, can be gotten by company B, or pimply kid Z.
But I do see a silver lining in all this, when I have a long day of stressful work, and a good rant on a web blog, I like to put an end to anxiety with a nice cool glass of refreshing Coca-Cola. Me and my homies always got time for our drinks -- word! - MikeonTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2stick to these rules and you will be an xpert blogger? *****! Quality, no matter the amount of post will decide your blogs fate. waste of time read friends.

http://www.greymatterindia.com/ - crossers, on 07/22/2008, -1/+0here are first 5
1.Traffic is generated by participating in the community; not daily posting
2.Traffic is irrelevant to your blog’s success anyway
3.Loyal readers coming back daily to check your posts is so Web 1.0
4.Frequent posting is actually starting to have a negative impact on loyalty
5.Frequent posting keeps key senior executives and thought leaders out of the blogosphere
