- embeemb, on 05/07/2008, -0/+5Being officeless, I work in coffee houses most of the time. It's mighty hard to tell people not to show up when I'm working there. Just because I don't work in an office, doesn't mean you can interrupt at all times. [/rant] Excellent read though.
- philojustin, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2good stuff
- allaboutdatiki, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1working at home kicks ass =)
- domfosnz, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1I love working at home and couldn't give a ***** what people misconceive. Good article.
- rhcerff, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0Worked at home... got an office job so that I could actually go home! Much prefer it that way.
- jdroth, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3I just started working from home two months ago. So much of this article is spot-on.
At first I felt guilty to be home writing instead of slaving away in some office. But it only took a few days to realize that now I was slaving away for myself, in my own office, and for longer hours. It was kind of a wake-up call to realize one day that I'd sat at my computer from 7am til 5pm, working the whole time. I'm printing this article out and sticking it on the wall above my computer to remind myself that I don't have to work ALL THE ***** TIME. - Johneeeee, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Great article
- dognose, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1I work at home. I don't think most of these are misconceptions.
- timusca, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2"7. You’re rich.
Maybe this is just my own experience, but it seems that when I tell people that I’m my own boss, I must be making bank. Completely untrue. Although I think I do pretty well, I’m not by any standard wealthy. I pay my bills, and that’s about it."
No... you're rich if you're paying your bills by the world's standard. Most people in the world don't have anywhere close to any of us that can afford such luxuries as internet.
I don't mean he's rich by his own country's standard... it may be plenty hard for him to keep up with his bills. It's just that he said he isn't rich by ANY standard.
Just sayin'... - manresaclara, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1I really agree with this guy. Thanks for clearing up all of those misconceptions!
