Clearly, had we heard about “sin-eating,” “knocking up” or any of these other fine ways to make a living, we would have eaten more paste and focused a little less on our permanent records.

  • thejokker, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4there are a lot of other career paths besides the basic professions as we know them, but this is really a joke. Even in my 20s i still am surprised at all the different ways people make a living in this country.

    think of all the niche markets small business owners fill. I mean going through school you wouldnt think that the garbage man, or the guy that does the lawns make good money. In reality the lawn guy or pool guy could own the whole business and do some of the work also, and be raking in much more than the guy that spent 4-8 years in college and grad school.

So they would pick up a (usually) foreign boy at a faraway port who would be paid. Butt, the boy was actually used for more than his official role, which was to swab the aft deck. They would routinely warm up the child using a series of ever larger "pegs", which were inserted into his anus to prepare him for the torpedoing he was scheduled to receive. Pegboy led a loose, and windy life at sea, with numerous late night submarine rides.
