- IDIGTHEDIGG, on 04/23/2008, -1/+19damn at first I thought it was fake but the net moves differently after every shot
- mcfly99, on 04/23/2008, -1/+5At first I thought it was woody allen...
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1I was looking at his hands and arms to make sure there was some variation after every shot.
- jaalin, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1this guy is a basketball legend
- GerbilKing, on 04/23/2008, -6/+2I wonder how often he jerks it.
- gamer31, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2Why would the net moving different every time change anything....they could still cut out the misses if they needed too.
- BIOHazard87, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1their point was if it was the same shot every time, copied or not.
- djqxero, on 04/23/2008, -2/+10HAX
- Cumella, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Nope. Grandpa got game
- Dominicc2003, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1was i the only one who noticed the "71" go straight to a "73"?
:O
PS. Amazing man!
- drinkdrankdrunk, on 04/23/2008, -0/+16But can he dribble?
- dzw120, on 04/23/2008, -5/+0Can he pee?
- xBreakdownx, on 04/23/2008, -7/+2not like Chris Paul
CP3, MVP - anagoge, on 04/23/2008, -3/+1I can dribble, but only after my fifth beer.
- consoneo, on 04/23/2008, -1/+3I'm sure he can, most old people are good at dribbling. (Little bit of a Futurama reference :P )
- readysetno, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2with a shot like that, he doesn't have to.
- phazon88, on 04/23/2008, -3/+5But will he blend?
- expert01, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1Come on, that was funny! Hell, I restored the tab to come back and digg that comment.
- twertyto, on 04/23/2008, -24/+2Man successful loops himself shooting a 3 pointer on video 209 times. Give that man a hobby!
- rufus12, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1Would you really want to watch a 45 minute long video of someone shooting 3 pointers? I sure as hell don't.
- blackcloud333, on 04/23/2008, -1/+3Like shooting a basketball?
- funkytommyman, on 04/23/2008, -2/+23He facepalms when he misses (8:38)
- gabrielbeug, on 04/23/2008, -1/+6lol, this is from when shaq played for orlando..
- Xproject01, on 04/23/2008, -7/+39209 3-pointers....congrats. But the question is can he sustain an erection?
- TheStooge1, on 04/23/2008, -1/+37That's what you're wondering.... REALLY?
- CDoug03, on 04/23/2008, -12/+16I'd like to see him do that again, this time with a 7-foot dude standing up in his face
- Scottievm, on 04/23/2008, -2/+13That's not the point.
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -11/+3Well, it kinda is the point. On the free throw shooting, great, make fun of NBA players who can't shoot at least 75%. But he'd never get off a 3-point shot the way he brings the ball down to his chest before releasing. Great for the sake of just getting them in. But in a real game, even guys 7" shorter than him would be able to block his shot.
- uziko, on 04/23/2008, -0/+14No that is not the point, he says he can make a lot of free throws in a row. Not "i am a good basketball player" YOU missed the point.
Him not being good at basketball does not subtract from the fact that he is the best person in the world at making free throws. That's like saying tiger woods isn't good at golf because he's not good at mini golf.- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -6/+1I simply made a factual statement that while it's great that he can shoot free throws and he could successfully teach that technique to pros, his 3 point shooting technique could not be used in the NBA as it would get blocked. I didn't write anywhere about him not being good at basketball or him not being the best in the world at shooting free throws, now did I?
- readysetno, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1not the point whatsoever. he criticizes nba players for free throws, yes - but what does that have to do with him not being able to hit 3's in the NBA? the free throw is the easiest field goal in the game - effortless points. considering how long some of these NBA players have been playing, newman has every right to criticize them for missing a FT.
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -4/+1Okay, if you actually read what I wrote you would see that I completely agree that he has a right to criticize NBA players for not hitting free throws. However, you couldn't teach an NBA player to hit 3s like that because in a real game, it would be blocked, that's all.
- dafragsta, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1He's not being interviewed about the threes, moron. Therefore his criticisms do not automatically extend to how well NBA players shoot 3 pointers, just because you repeatedly insist that they do. It's like seeing three guys on the bench, one of them being you, and someone saying "that guy is a jackass." There is no insinuation that the other two guys on the bench are also jackasses. He even admitted DURING the interview that no one can just stand and shoot in a real game.
- uziko, on 04/23/2008, -0/+14No that is not the point, he says he can make a lot of free throws in a row. Not "i am a good basketball player" YOU missed the point.
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -11/+3Well, it kinda is the point. On the free throw shooting, great, make fun of NBA players who can't shoot at least 75%. But in a real game, even guys 7" shorter than him would be able to block his shot.
- npurscelley, on 04/23/2008, -2/+14I'd like to see most 7-foot dudes in the NBA make 2 free throws in a row with no one in their face.
- Lutremi, on 04/24/2008, -1/+4I think with the exceptions of Tim Duncan and Amare Stoudemire, you're mostly right.
- paulmike3, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Duncan - 6-11, 68% career FT%. Stoudemire - 6-10, 75% career FT%.
FAIL.
- paulmike3, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Duncan - 6-11, 68% career FT%. Stoudemire - 6-10, 75% career FT%.
- Lutremi, on 04/24/2008, -1/+4I think with the exceptions of Tim Duncan and Amare Stoudemire, you're mostly right.
- Ashed, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0Yao Ming?
- Scottievm, on 04/23/2008, -2/+13That's not the point.
- MattNF, on 04/23/2008, -3/+23Epic old man is epic.
- anagoge, on 04/23/2008, -1/+4Old epic man is old. ('96!)
- AristonH, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0Epic man is 2(old).
- Cowmin, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1I don't see what you did there.
- AristonH, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0Epic man is 2(old).
- anagoge, on 04/23/2008, -1/+4Old epic man is old. ('96!)
- allahuakbar, on 04/23/2008, -9/+2Wow - I wonder how much time he wasted practicing for that...
- uziko, on 04/23/2008, -0/+12and what do you do? masturbate and make jealous comments on digg
- jerrolds, on 04/23/2008, -1/+24If Isiah was still in charge - this 60 yo man would get a $55 million dollar contract to the Knicks
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -2/+3Sadly, of all the money he's spent, it would probably be his best move!
- xtekian, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1C'mon, the only thing he can do is shoot!
- matthughes, on 04/23/2008, -1/+17he's like the rainman of basketball
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1Yeah, at the minimum he has to have some OCD issues.
- Labourer, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1"i'm a very good basketball player, I'm a very good basketball player , I'm a v......."
- z3r0c0O1, on 04/23/2008, -8/+3First off: Computer Programmers FTW!
And secondly; they should have blind folded NBA basketball star on the that show. - devsolberg, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3where was he 30 years ago?
- omercyme33, on 04/23/2008, -6/+2Does this mean that 25 years from now, Shaq might actually have a chance of making a 3-pointer?
- dolphonia, on 04/23/2008, -1/+11He's a basketball coach. His job is to teach the perfect shot and so it is pretty much ingrained in his head.
- uziko, on 04/23/2008, -1/+4hey idiots he skips the part where he walks back to the 3 pointer line, it's not a loop
- reknaps, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1Was anybody claiming that besides twertyto?
- uziko, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1good point, i guess i just kind of skipped the rest of the comments expecting everyone to chime in with him
- Nichiren, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1Yeah the guy was just so consistent that it would be hard to tell save for the fact that the net swishes differently with every shot.
- reknaps, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1Was anybody claiming that besides twertyto?
- Bonez, on 04/23/2008, -6/+3Orlando center Shaquille O'Neal omg, this thing is at least 12 years old.. which means by my calculations this guy has already shot a thousand 3-pointers in a row.. or he's dead (most likely the later)
- fucknuggets, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1but there was a news clip in there from the 70s too. maybe he can shoot free throws through time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
- whoomp123, on 04/23/2008, -5/+0would be more impressive if they were nba 3's
- ModernChem, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1no *****, sherlock
- thestranger, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3It would have been more impressive if he was blind, it was 500 shots, and they were full-court.
- tung353, on 04/23/2008, -1/+5was this college 3-pointers or NBA 3-pointers?
- thestranger, on 04/23/2008, -2/+2It was worse....It was WNBA 3-pointers!
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/23/2008, -3/+1Well it's definitely not NBA 3-pointers. Looks like college. Even if they were free throws, however, it's impressive. Again, he'd never get a 3 point shot off in a game by bringing the ball down so low (because it would be too easy to block), but he could obviously use it to shoot free throws.
- uziko, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1that's actually a valid question, nba 3 pointers are further than college and highschool 3 pointers
- Cowmin, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2Thanks for that little known information.
- mwalker05, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1at the time the NBA three point line was closer than it is now. they moved it back out in 1997-98

- jerryparid, on 04/23/2008, -1/+4He is a CalTech coah, oh the Irony. Look up their team if you have to.
- anchorman, on 04/23/2008, -3/+1This story is more impressive. (not a rick roll)
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-818944862 ...- uziko, on 04/23/2008, -2/+3dam. a google video error, that *is* impressive
- anchorman, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3Dang it... I'm an idiot. Please see my post below with the correct link. Thanks uziko for pointing out my lunacy.
- drewfer, on 04/23/2008, -2/+2In all fairness, 60 isn't that old...
- thestranger, on 04/23/2008, -1/+3In all fairness, 209 shots in a row is a lot of shots to make.....
- Andrwmorph, on 04/23/2008, -0/+5WITCH!
- Kakemonstere, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0"I've always liked records, how big, how wide, how many, how fast. I guess it's the little kid in me."
- billiamboy, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1My mavs need this guy right now.
- murraj2, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1I doubt he plays much defense, which is what the Mavs actually need. It's not by chance they can't do crap in the playoffs when defense rather than scoring wins games.
- jroowizzle, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0Actually, the mavs have become known for their defense more than their offense since getting jason kidd. the playoffs just have to do with the fact that they cant stop chris paul, which even the best defensive team in the league couldnt do. guys a beast.
- murraj2, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1I doubt he plays much defense, which is what the Mavs actually need. It's not by chance they can't do crap in the playoffs when defense rather than scoring wins games.
- TheSchalter, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1I'm calling BS on this - he stepped on the line about half of the time!
- kettch13, on 04/23/2008, -0/+4Don't hate on a retired guy shooting hoops for fun.
- JohnDavis730, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1talk about practice makes perfect
- greeniemeani, on 04/23/2008, -8/+1Video of all 209 3-Pointers or it didn't happen.
- harusp3x, on 04/23/2008, -0/+4What the ***** link did you click?
- greeniemeani, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1Sorry guys. I read the youtube comment and assumed that some of the footage cut out of the whole 45 minute tape were some of the 3 pointers in question. I didn't actually want to sit there for 9 minutes and watch it all...
- CaviMike, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2There's more to digg than the headline
- jroowizzle, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1fail.
- harusp3x, on 04/23/2008, -0/+4What the ***** link did you click?
- RedSaber, on 04/23/2008, -4/+4That's why I prefer hockey.
A sport for real men. ;) - Seeki, on 04/23/2008, -0/+5Props to this guy, I couldn't even get 2 in a row. I think I will stick to rugby
- Aurabolt, on 04/23/2008, -0/+9And they say WE have no lives...
- bluerei, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1INCREDIBLE ATHLETE!
- emptyo, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1put a business card on your screen while you're watching the video. line the bottom of the business card up with the top of the arc of his shot. It hits the exact same place almost every time. The man is a machine....
- Tishiablo, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3I fast forwarded to the end just so I could watch him miss...
- Chalks777, on 04/23/2008, -1/+3That... was incredibly boring. I mean seriously, are you that starved for entertainment that you'll watch a man throw a ball in a hoop the exact same way 209 times? I got to about throw number 7.
- Cowmin, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Then you missed a super awesome news report, 70's game show, and some Japanese thing.
- anchorman, on 04/23/2008, -0/+6I screwed up with my link above. Sorry about that. This is the video I meant to post that is, imho, much more impressive. (not a rick roll)
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-818944862 ... - junkin07, on 04/23/2008, -2/+0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdHcZB3L3uA
- curiousgrge, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0I didn't know that Setshot Buford is still alive.
- Zapple, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2I love that. "My time was running out, I have to go to work in 10 minutes so I guess I rushed the shot."
xD - rjc1187, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2I wonder if Peja can do better?
- Cowmin, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1considering that in an NBA 3 point competition you get 25 shots, and no one has ever hit all of them, I'd say no
- TheGooseyOne, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1At first I thought it was real NBA 3-pointers. But, this is still impressive.
Crazy to think hes 70 now. Wonder if he still has it. - PeckerSlap, on 04/23/2008, -1/+0lol.
- Peumaman, on 04/24/2008, -1/+0I've seen that guy a bunch of times in the gym, never once saw him miss. The urge to sneak up on him and try to startle him is almost overpowering, as you can imagine.
- DeWallen, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1But does he blend?
- JFallon126, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Not surprised by this at all. My girlfriend's father is in his sixties and shoots baskets everyday. He gets pissed when he gets
*only* 100 in a row...Still impressive though! - bloggerjul, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn6O42a5vl8
- upick, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1nice!!!! age aint nothing but a number
