coedmagazine.com — Will Farrell showed off the basketball skills he learned as Jackie Moon on the set of Semi-Pro when he faced basketball legend Bill Walton in a game of H.O.R.S.E.

- FameMoney, on 02/29/2008, -47/+7Will Farrell is the king of gays with that shorts.
- CerMakAlot, on 02/29/2008, -2/+21Is that what the other kids call you during recess?
- undershirt, on 02/29/2008, -0/+13I run in shorts like those. ***** liberating.
- YoctoYotta, on 02/29/2008, -0/+8Right on brother, sometimes I wear nothing but a trench coat and expose myself to large crowds too.
- had3l, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Nice legs.
- soloride, on 02/29/2008, -12/+42Will Farrell is awesome but I feel like he is taking over digg. His funnyordie videos and old spice ads are everywhere on digg. It would be funny if he created his own digg account and started submitting his own content.
- joeanon, on 02/29/2008, -9/+2Well, unfortunately for you(and me), I visit Digg at least once a day and I have to content your claim there is so magical surplus of Will Ferrell stuff here. It's just not true.
There is a surplus of fact less political news, fanboy driven apple propaganda, stories about boobs, and tons of marketing.
There is not a surplus of Will Ferrell and the reality is Ferrell has a very limited amount of content to push around anyway. I've never seen a day Ferrell has 2 of the top 10. However..... many a day you see Obama love stories stake 3 of the top 3 diggs, or McCain hate stories, or Apple ads disguised as unbiased reviews.
When Apple release a product, we suffer digg bombardment as the popularity content peruses.
Perhaps you're just tired of Ferrell's rather similar approach to comedy in all he characters and your expressing it through Ferrell intolerance which makes you exaggerate the facts like an indicted republican in court.
Surf Digg a bit more and you'll find vastly more things to dislike about the content and users than just comedy video. I find the pointless videos the most meaningful thing here. At least they are honestly just stupid entertainment, not grass root marketing disguised as users opinions. We don't have to worry that Ferrell is using digg to spread misinformation or abusing digg to gain popularity. Ferrell is all over google video and you tube, so there is no reason he needs to try to gain popularity on digg. There are just a lot of casual diggers out there who like Ferrell most likely and so you'll see more or less a ad or 10 for every new movie he puts out.
What you don't see is where people conspire like Apple fanboys or Ron Paul supports to abuse digg and get popular to try to make it look as if their agenda is being completed and create a false source for momentum under the premise that if we gain internet popularity that will translate into the read world as some kind of popularity momentum.
Face it, user driven sites are doomed to be a giant pile of corrupt marketing. Only sites like wikipedia with strong editing and moderating will survive. Corporations are already paying people to blog and digg as a means of marketing, politicians are using it now, anon has gotten FAR too much digg support for a mere hack of Scientology and a lot of tough talk that went no where. If Anon want to do something useful, try attacking an organization that's actually hurting people and not just some rich people's delusional past time. I mean, for all we know, Scientology was all that was holding together the few threads of sense these people have left.
If you belief in freedom of religion, regardless of how much you like seeing hackers attack Tom Cruise, what they are going is wrong, pointless and may result in a backlash of increased interest in Scientology and increased membership. Most of the time that's all you get out of trying villanize a religion.
So of all the ***** on digg, I find the comedy the only thing universally appealing among the diverse population of lifeless freaks that post on digg. The rest of it is popularity contest usually with the occasional dying trend of posting something that's actually important news like police abuse or unheard political scandals. Those are the stories that drew me here, but more and more this site is a joke to be made fun of as is it's users opinions or grasp of history. As digg gets bigger, rather than represent the intelligent liberals looking for technology articles and to thwart mass media control, digg beings to represent the average population of non-voting, undereducated, armchair experts who feel every right to post their opinion as sheer undeniable fact while slandering anyone who disagrees.
It's a forum for people to bitch about things, just as the defunct yahoo chat was. What people post is meaningless most of the time and almost never gets read because there is no useful substance or civil discourse. Without moderation it always breaks down into popularity contents and shouting matches of insults, racial slurs and rampant blame. So.. in that sense, digg represents American society well, but I preferred when it represented intellectual American liberals. Now it's just whatever dumb ass has the time to bitch about something. Just like all the useless morons posting on youtube and google video because they want to be famous. Conversation was such a more interesting art form when only smart people had the balls to speak their opinions. Like a democracy of retards sometimes free speech means well, but just harms us overall though sheer innate ignorance.- scrimaxinc, on 02/29/2008, -0/+7The award for most unnecessarily longwinded response to a simple digg observation goes to....

- gebsta, on 02/29/2008, -5/+67Farrell may be on Digg a lot but you can not deny the basketball skills he displays in the video - his Larry Bird behind the backboard swish is pretty incredible.
- capiCrimm, on 02/29/2008, -6/+26or reshot until he got it.

- zunkus, on 02/29/2008, -3/+3Not really, anyone who has played a lot of basketball(or horse for that matter) knows that's one of the first shots you go to because it's an easy shot. Also there is no shot clock or any obstructions over the basket.
- capiCrimm, on 02/29/2008, -6/+26or reshot until he got it.
- jodofashodo, on 02/29/2008, -12/+4I heard the movie is eh..but this is great
- Harbinger67, on 02/29/2008, -0/+5It's quite good, go see it. I caught a screening last night; it's on par with Anchorman.

- RaysinX, on 02/29/2008, -2/+92H.O.R.S.E should be one of the events during the all star game
- Future2, on 02/29/2008, -9/+4It would never end. NBA players are simply too good.
- zunkus, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1Soo true.
- mizatt, on 02/29/2008, -0/+5They actually had it at the NBDL All-Star weekend. I think a 21 or 1-on-1 competition of some kind between NBA players during All-Star weekend would be great. But instead they'll probably keep feeding us that celebrity shooting stars ***** that nobody cares about every year so they can promote the WNBA

- yohhan, on 02/29/2008, -8/+0Holy crap that would be so boring. As if the All-Star game isn't already enough of a joke of a competition.
- Future2, on 02/29/2008, -9/+4It would never end. NBA players are simply too good.
- gregatron, on 02/29/2008, -6/+10Will looks remarkably good at Basketball
- apc3161, on 02/29/2008, -2/+11Seriously...you think this was edited or was he really 4 for 4 including the behind the backboard shot?
- swi288, on 02/29/2008, -2/+2Coulnd't have been 4 for 4. Walton got his own shot at the behind the backboard first. Will would have had to miss for him to have a shot.
- dudefaceguyman, on 02/29/2008, -1/+3I don't think they were really worrying about playing H.O.R.S.E at that point. They were talking about the Larry Bird behind the hoop shoot thing at that point and they both just gave it a shot.
Regardless, I'm getting tired of Will Ferrall. Every movie he has the exact same stupid character just in different clothes and setting...
- ligyron, on 02/29/2008, -1/+0You best be joking
- apc3161, on 02/29/2008, -2/+11Seriously...you think this was edited or was he really 4 for 4 including the behind the backboard shot?
- n0t0kayipr0mis3, on 02/29/2008, -6/+16Bill Walton is old and horse doesn't really show off your skills too much.
- undershirt, on 02/29/2008, -0/+7I remember somebody from the audience beat Steve Nash at horse.
- CerMakAlot, on 02/29/2008, -6/+4He must have been really working on his guns. He must have done nearly one thousand.
- ReyX, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1He sculpts them in his office.
- bryik, on 03/01/2008, -0/+1Moar like OVER 9000.
- blackrage, on 02/29/2008, -7/+10Bill Walton is a blowhard hack. He always was, and always wil be.
- matyrice, on 02/29/2008, -0/+9Did you see that game where Walton went for 44 points on 21 of 22 shooting for UCLA? Yes he may be obnoxious with his overexcitement and exaggerations (example: "Throw it DOWN big man") but he was a great college player who unfortunately was plagued by injuries during his professional career.
- evo5racer, on 02/29/2008, -6/+1Walton looked goofy in that uniform at his age
- p014k, on 02/29/2008, -8/+1http://www.coedmagazine.com.nyud.net:8080/sports/6 ...
- xpose, on 02/29/2008, -6/+3Bill Walton ankles have no flexibility because of playing days, among many other problems I'm sure. His bones were fused together someway. Notice how he walks? Though Ferrell showed good range inside the ARC! :)
- nyr633, on 02/29/2008, -8/+3they don't know the rules... article says farrell had a HORS lead... he only had HOR... Far from beating Bill Walton at horse
- diggbk, on 02/29/2008, -7/+8You guys know this was set up right?
- ligyron, on 02/29/2008, -2/+0Wait, are you suggesting that is not Will Ferrell's true identity, and he's not a pro basketball player?

- endearingGirl, on 02/29/2008, -2/+4he got game! nice video
but i would have enjoyed it more if there were more "interesting" skills (reverse, between the legs lay ups, dunks...)
normal jump shots are O.K, 3 pts shots would have been great
nevertheless, Farrell has good fundamentals, good shooting technique - joshf52, on 02/29/2008, -1/+5I can't believe almost everyone above has spelled his name Farrell.
- joeanon, on 02/29/2008, -2/+1Why ? Names are probably the least phonetic and therefore easiest things to misspell in the world. If a person was going to misspell anything, it would most likely be someones name. I can see where Ferell could be spelled at least three or four different ways and sound the same to most people.
I blame him for having some non American sounding name (damn foreigner) :P If his name was Will Smith, you'd have no spelling Nazi authority.
Oh, by the way, most people look like asses when they make a post merely to critique spelling or grammar.
Unfortunately for you and the rest of us, America schools don't focus on content, as your post shows, but rather editing.
It's just many times easiest to teach the rules of witting than to teach someone to actually communicate and express themselves. So... think about that when you offer one line critiques of people. First off, you look a bit like an ass. More importantly, though perhaps not as much in a name situation since it's more of a matter of m memorization no phonetics, if you have a tendency to critique people like that you present a negative stimulus to communication in general.
I'd rather people say, sincerely, what they have to say with substance and content and rely on the well known fact that the audiences brain transparently corrects grammar and spelling mistakes without you even knowing usually. So, unless it makes the post unreadable, it's more or less bad manners to make a post that has no other purpose than to critique grammar or spelling.
It's a long time hobby of the assholes of the net, people who have nothing to say, but readily critique what everyone else says. If your have nothing to say, say nothing. Corrections are for editors or at least authors.
Far too many American's can spell and have minimal, but working, grammar skills yet they have absolutely nothing to say and very little grasp on the facts around them or history. So, when they do say something it's just a testament of their brainless lack of original though and imagination and regurgitation of meaningless procedure they've been taught. Many great authors existed before the time of standardized spelling and used what are today unaccepted spelling and grammar, but none the less, their content changed the world.

- MajorLeague, on 02/29/2008, -2/+1Walton couldn't hit a jumper in '80... still can't today.
- steelaz58, on 02/29/2008, -1/+0If Bill Walton was Half as good today as he thinks he was when he played, Ferrell never would have beat him
- TwoLOUD, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2I loved the hair addon for walton..looks hilarious.

- pimpofpixels, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1I believe that like I believe Bush didn't know he was lying about WMDs.
There were cuts between each shot. - elcaminos, on 02/29/2008, -2/+4Colin Farrell called, he wants his name back.

- aaapples, on 02/29/2008, -1/+2It's a shame. Anyone who's seen stranger than fiction or even that woody allen film he did knows what I mean.
But if I got paid much more money to do projects where I just dick about, hey I probably would to. I'd still be a whore, though. Just like Colin here. - binnis, on 02/29/2008, -2/+1"Then he sunk an impossible, behind the glass, Larry Bird inspired shot to go up H.O.R.S."
In a traditional game of H.O.R.S.E, a person would get a letter AFTER he attempts a shot his opponent made. Bill Walton never attempted the behind the backboard shot after Will so he only had H.O.R. - DontUKnowImLoco, on 02/29/2008, -1/+0Don't act like you're not impressed!
- MCCULLAH, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1old man i dont like!
- Tyrghast, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1not only do i hate the buzz-term 'after the jump', these idiots did not even use it correctly...
- Roguecop, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1We would like to thank ILM for post production work on this clip.
- Elliuotatar, on 02/29/2008, -2/+1I started watching this and was all like "What the hell... Ferrel is losing!" cause I thought he was the funny looking one with the absurdly huge beard, and amusingly unkempt appearance.
Then I realised my mistake. - jbschusty, on 02/29/2008, -1/+2''I've still got some eligibility left...''
- zunkus, on 03/01/2008, -1/+1Me too and I could ***** Will "not funny" Farrell up. Walton would be sooo much sweeter to hang out for a day and play HORSE with.
- speakingdreams, on 02/29/2008, -1/+4This is not "honest" footage. It's a promo.
- paddyosmith, on 02/29/2008, -1/+2"Then he sunk an impossible, behind the glass, Larry Bird inspired shot to go up H.O.R.S."
i bet there are more impossibler shots than that. i mean, he hit it. kind of revokes the use of the term impossible, no? - solid12345, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1The crew at Coed-Magazine are nothing but a bunch of tools. How anyone can read this wannabe Maxim is beyond me.
- zunkus, on 02/29/2008, -2/+2Would have been much, much, much, better with more Bill Walton and less Will Farrell. Sorry, i'm just not a Farrell fan.
- zunkus, on 02/29/2008, -2/+2Would have been much, much, much, better with more Walton and less Farrell.
- thinboyslim, on 02/29/2008, -1/+0Ferrell as in Beryl
NOT
Farrell as in Carol
CHUMPS - baggedhemi22, on 02/29/2008, -1/+0So idk what to think...I mean Walton is atleast 106, and they could have edited it to make it look like he's good, but he does play in a league, granted a celebrity league. I'm sure its the scotch that helps him. Scothy, scotch, scotch....
- zunkus, on 03/01/2008, -1/+2Will Farrell is not funny. I loved SNL with him, his movies are no better than mediocre at best.
- fuxjoey, on 03/01/2008, -1/+1He sucked in the old days anyway... I'm not surprised.
- napk, on 03/03/2008, -0/+1Damn, ol' Will can play some ball
