- nmoline, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8haha this is Digg, their are only about 5 of us who care about the NCAA tourney. Everyone else is too busy soliciting prostitutes in Second Life. On a lighter note this system is very nice I used it last year, beats the hell out of paying DirecTv for the games.
- Rub3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Used this last year, the waiting sucked, but the video quality wasn't terrible and it was awesome to see so many games. We had three TVs going with basic cable and this setup.
It's great to see a broadcaster step up and do something like this for free.
Get a clue MLB and NFL, it means more people are into your product and more people are watching commercials. - Erowid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Umm... Mac & Linux users can have the internet too? I didn't notice any mention of having to install anything.
- ImOscar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I guess you'll have to leave work and go watch at a bar. Poor you.
- wendelgee2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I hope this works on my Wii.
- chanelm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I don't know what yall are thinking, but millions of people watch the NCAA tournament and many of those include office drones. This is a great way for CBS and the NCAA to come into the "Internet Age" and actually do something that helps the consumer. I just hope my Florida Gators can repeat.
- UTChris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah they've looked great recently.
/sarcasm
Go Vols! - andysrc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I did this last year too and signed up for the VIP pass. I got right in while my friend who didn't have the pass had to wait at least 20 minutes to get in and watch the games, sometimes longer. The only emails I got from CBS after signing up was a comfirmation, and then another email this year to remind me to get another VIP pass.
The only problem was last year sometimes the connect would suck. Hopefully they've fixed that a little this year. - tcybulski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wow. had no idea this existed. and it's great, because i was assuming i'd have to go searching for a sports bar to catch some of the games i would potentially want to see, or pay for something.
cbs got it right. - sporb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you're so wrong. enjoy the long lineups!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2free service is always going to somewhat suck, but it's free nonetheless
- nmoline, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They did this last year, it is nothing new and you better get a VIP pass if you don't want to spend the first 20 minutes of a game in a waiting room.
- ImOscar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I used it last year and the lines weren't that bad. I'd get in line, go about my work and wait a few minutes to hear the game in my headphones. I imagine they're in the process of tweaking this to get the lines as long as possible without people leaving, and setting the right price to get people to sign up.
- jened, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1awesome baby!
- wonderboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Do VIP passes cost anything? I didn't see anywhere to sign up.
- jread2, on 03/20/2009, -0/+0Unfortunately, it doesn't work in Linux, so it does me no good.
- Cornedbeef, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0CBS has almost all of the March Madness NCAA basketball games covered.
- moser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I can tell you, this works fantastically for those of us who can't get out of work during the opening days of the tourney. (and this coming from a former, slightly-disgruntled employee of CBS Sportsline).
- sonician, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Interesting how valid Canadian postal codes don't work on the registration page.
- drrichardindiaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Duh people, it sucks and it's slow, especially if it's a popular game and it's close. Just watch your game on regular TV and run your March Madness pool on http://www.tourneytime.com
- bud05, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Thanks for this, now I get to watch 2 games at once and I'll drag a TV into my room for the national game. =)
- leebones6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This will help: http://venturebeat.com/2007/03/12/roundup-march-madness-starbucks-start-ups-zannel-and-more
I just read about some company that will send you a free text message anytime during the tournament when an upset is ABOUT to happen - so you can watch the last 5 minutes. Pretty cool idea! - dkellt, on 11/28/2008, -0/+0a good site is http://www.freesportscasts.com
they have other pro and college sports too. - COUGFAN77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Does anyone have an east coast VIP log-in so that I can watch my local games? I will trade my west coast VIP log-in and Password for it.
- Kredi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Thanks for the stream. http://www.trkredi.com
- str3ama, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0lol limited release yea right. It's actually available for everyone, they're are no limited spots because it only starts March 15th, so don't worry about signing up right now unless you really want a lot of spam (from NCAA 'affiliates'). You can't watch anything currently, it doesn't start till mid March and it's going to be restricted to US only (similar to CBS/ABC innertube tv show replay system)
- thefoxtrotter, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Michigan State University all the way
- Mrexample88, on 10/12/2007, -11/+0NCAA IS GARBAGE
- EustaceTilley, on 10/12/2007, -15/+0Thats great and all, but what about thoes of us who don't use windows...
