- ironeus, on 08/26/2008, -1/+35I remember the Kellogg's packaging w/ the original Dream Team. '92 squad is still the most legendary IMO.
- dpollitt, on 08/26/2008, -2/+29If it was 'since 1992' you would think it would at least include 2008
- ditka354, on 08/27/2008, -2/+20This slideshow is terrible.
- Stemnin, on 08/27/2008, -2/+19Space Jam had the dream team.
- chrissku, on 08/27/2008, -2/+19You could pack that whole team into Patrick Ewing's nostrils.
- Kamacurus, on 08/27/2008, -3/+18wheres the white guys? racist?? where is affirmative action when you need it?
- JoeRockEHF, on 08/27/2008, -1/+15The '92 Dream Team could beat anyone in their prime.
- nofate2029, on 08/27/2008, -1/+12there has never been a better accumulation of basketball players since the 92' dreamteam
- kyleforeman, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8Aren't we forgetting Larry Bird was on the 92 team as well?
- commiecat, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8You do know that before '92, European and South American professionals were allowed to play in the Olympics but not NBA players.
- atbnet, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7NBA players play for other countries too, you *****.
- drlha, on 08/27/2008, -2/+8Disagree. Olympics should be about the best people from each country competing. The pro/amateur thing was basically destroyed by the communists in the latter half of the 20th century.
- peruvianidol, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6That'd be a sweet lineup... if Hakeem was actually on the 1992 Dream Team.
- Pufflosz, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5I think John Stockton was on the original 92 team
- cawpin, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5No question. It was the best team ever assembled.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -6/+10PG: Magic Johnson
SG: Michael jordan
SF: Charles Barkley
PF: Karl Malone
C: Hakeem Olajuwon
Redonkulous. - sleze, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3As far as I am concerned, there was only one Dream Team. It was the original team 1992 and was the most talented team in sports history since Maximus Decimus Meridius led his "Carthaginians" in an upset of the "Romans".
Of course there was the other Dream Team led by Michael Keaton... - j4ck80, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3Every country that is competitive at all sends their pro players. Why have a competition to determine who is the best in the world and then exclude the athletes who are clearly at the top of their sport?
- Metadrew, on 08/27/2008, -0/+3Because it must take more than 5 minutes to take one picture of the team and write 100 words about them...
- sny1120, on 08/27/2008, -2/+5'2008' = 3 days ago. You already forgot?
- tdishman, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2As was Chris Mullin
- cawpin, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2It's ***** Patrick Ewing. What did you expect?
- TheR3dMenace, on 08/27/2008, -0/+22 words: Larry Legend
- pault107, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2Ban this troll, check his comment history:
http://zuubu.pcriot.com/?username=CoolStoryBro&sel ... - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -2/+4Hard to say. I'd certainly hope techniques and better technologies in training have improved in the past 15 years.
But the 92 dream team definitely have my respect as the team with most class and positive influence on basketball. - uracre, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2He is probably one of those guys who think black people are "genetically gifted" when it comes to basketball. That's what they teach at the local taverns.
- Cuchanu, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2So I guess African countries should be winning all of the Gold medals then?
Black people are good at basketball because basketball is played more in the innercities, there isn't room for tennis, golf, etc. There is no DNA that makes people better at basketball. - joepestro, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2I took it! It's actually really fun:
http://www.yardbarker.com/nba/articles/Name_the_19 ... - ethnicman, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2Plus it did not always mean a garanteed win. Look at 2004 when they came in third place despite of them having NBA stars on the roster.
- praisethelard, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2What point are you trying to make by bringing up black people?
- JDizzle614, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2Sarcasm homey...
- DrDragun, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2Barcelona is still my favorite Oympics. Might be the fact that I was 11 at the time, but starting with the ridiculous torch lighting and following through with the hype of the Dream Team at the peak of Jordan's career was incredible. I remember watching every basketball game that tournament and it was a total stunt show and spectacle.
Here is the INSANE torch lighting btw:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSA9xUUXj6E - AJRiddle, on 08/27/2008, -0/+2Redunkulous would have been more appropriate.
- failedpimp, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1It's not a slideshow. A slideshow doesn't link you to another page.
- ImperialSoren, on 08/27/2008, -1/+2you just took political correctness to a new level. yes blacks do have a genetic advantage in basketball. the fact they make up 12% of US pop but the majority of the NBA is no coincidence. and no it's not because "they play so much in inner cities"... being realistic is not racist, guys
- rald84, on 08/27/2008, -1/+2somebody please post that photo during 2004 athens with the bench dropping their mouths open during the puerto rico game.
- kineticac, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1Damn, I only got half, I can't believe it!!!
- Cuchanu, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1They were playing hockey.
- chubbybubba, on 08/27/2008, -2/+3They be the coaches.
- chubbybubba, on 08/27/2008, -3/+4I wish I was too, but only so I could bitch slap you right now :)
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1oh ***** thats patrick, my bad
- Kamacurus, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1who's Larry Legend?
- dpierce, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1Johnson: "I didn't come here to make friends. I've got enough friends. We came here to kick some behind, and that's what we're doing. We're basically taking a lot of countries to school."
- Cuchanu, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1Not to mention that was the NBA's heyday. You know when the worst of the starting 5 is Patrick Ewing that you have a pretty incredible team.
- uracre, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1And what scientific grounds you are referring to with that claim, imperialSoren?
- Dobiewonkenobi, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1"You heard of the dream team? Well were the mean team!"
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1Jordan, Bugs, Babs, Daffy, and Bill Murray against the Monstars featuring the talent of Barkley, Ewing, Bogues, Johnson, and Bradley?
