- EMFK, on 04/06/2009, -0/+46Great to see The Admiral and Stockton get in as well. Class acts on and off the court.
- chicagojack, on 04/06/2009, -3/+31That should be "...Hall of Fame"
I am a dope - sizzzzlerz, on 04/06/2009, -2/+29He deserves his own wing of the hall.
Wing 1: Pre-MJ
Wing 2: Post-MJ
Wing 3: MJ
Nobody like him. - Smokeydabear, on 04/06/2009, -3/+27Space Jam was dope, yo!
- harrisbradley, on 04/06/2009, -0/+20Biggest shoe-in ever
- Anand999, on 04/06/2009, -0/+18You have to be fully retired for 5 years to be eligible for induction. His last game was in April, 2003 so that meant he just became eligible last year.
- inactive, on 04/06/2009, -1/+17this will be one of the best HOF classes ever
- cousar, on 04/06/2009, -0/+16That wing's reserved for Wilt Chamberlain.
- UselessTrivia, on 04/06/2009, -1/+16I assume this was the first year he was elligible?
Would it have come sooner if he hadn't come back for those encore seasons? - anexanhume, on 04/06/2009, -0/+13Yes, The Admiral was awesome and was actually a role model for children with a stable family and no crazy off-the-court behavior. Sadly, that's the exception rather than the rule.
- Jsmuli2, on 04/06/2009, -2/+14Who? Sounds like a real nobody.
Wasn't that the name of the rabbit in Spacejam? - punkbl182, on 04/06/2009, -0/+11Oscar?
- blue11storm, on 04/06/2009, -0/+11Your thinking of Jerry West, he got into the Hall of Fame in 1980....29 years ago
- Ewreckshun, on 04/06/2009, -0/+11Jerry West is the logo...
- Maccc, on 04/06/2009, -0/+11Definitely cool to see Stockton and Robinson get in. Neither of them is the kind of guy who lobbied for attention while playing, they were always team first and class acts, so it's good to see them get the ultimate individual recognition.
- Jokaroni, on 04/06/2009, -0/+10Well deserved for all three of them.
- form3hide, on 04/06/2009, -0/+8That special something? MJ's marketability.
Kobe is too arrogant.
KG isn't all that appealing.
And LeBron? Only time will tell about him... - kobescoresagain, on 04/06/2009, -3/+11Shouldn't have taken this long. They should have inducted him while he was still playing.
- mikerad86, on 04/06/2009, -3/+10MJ should get some kind of special differentiated award. Like the title of "Greatest All Around Player in Basketball History."
- form3hide, on 04/06/2009, -0/+7You do realize that Barkley is already in the Hall of Fame, right?
- PooderKing, on 04/06/2009, -3/+9Just seeing a man leap from the foul line and soar over everybody in the way was just magical.
- tubbyanimations, on 04/06/2009, -0/+5I thought it was Hall of Fun. Thanks for clearing this up
- logstaa, on 04/06/2009, -4/+9pff whatever. Call me when he gets into the baseball hall of fame. That was his main sport, right?
- audiblesilence, on 04/06/2009, -2/+7For me...MJ WAS the NBA. When he left the Bulls (for good) the NBA lost me as a viewer.
Kobe, KG and LeBron are good...but there was just something special about Jordan. - hudy23, on 04/06/2009, -0/+5Go Stockton!
- mikerad86, on 04/06/2009, -1/+6You must not watch basketball...
- Greengoo, on 04/06/2009, -0/+4I Believe I can fly really ought to have won a Grammy.
Oh wait, no. I'm sorry. I'm thinking of ANY OTHER SONG. - form3hide, on 04/07/2009, -0/+4MJ wasn't exactly faithful either, leif77. Also, MJ suffered his own demons with gambling, as well. Both guys are far from saints.
- martinherrera, on 04/06/2009, -1/+5Actually, you are a dope because it is the Basketball Hall of Fame, not the NBA Hall of Fame. There is no NBA hall of fame.
- leif77, on 04/06/2009, -0/+4Yeah... that... and the infidelity...
- browe07, on 04/06/2009, -1/+5If those 3 were on a team right now that team would be in the playoffs. Even with their age.
- BMcClure937, on 04/06/2009, -3/+7Jordan should be inducted in a special ceremony all by himself...
- inigomntoya, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3Utah gets no respect. The Jazz have 3 people inducted into the Hall of Fame and they still get overlooked by everyone.
OK, so maybe its because they can't seal the deal at the end of the game.
But still, you would think that more players would be interested in playing for a coach who has more wins with a single team than any other coach in the NBA. A record that will likely never be broken by any coach in the future. - fishcalledwanda, on 04/06/2009, -1/+4Yes...so happy to see my man Stockton get in...He was the gentleman baller :)
- wizardzatz, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3My earliest memory of NBA Basketball was MJ hitting the game winning shot in the 98 Finals vs. Utah. I saw it on a TV at a Bowling alley while at some kids birthday party and thought to myself "oh cool, he won the game, whatever."
I didn't realize at the time just how spectacular that moment was. - Danktolker, on 04/06/2009, -1/+4Maybe he only watches baseball
- ruforealz, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3***** profound
- osteor10, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3Thats just turrable.
- vegx, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3I don't know, there's something to be said for people like Gretzky and Lemieux, who were such shoo-ins that they were inducted before they were even eligible.
- Chapman9110, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3No the rabbit in Spacejam was named Elmer.
- DirtyBinLV, on 04/06/2009, -2/+5John Stockton was widely regarded by his peers as one of the dirtiest players in the league. I don't think he set one legal screen in 18 seasons.
- ZachiusMaximus, on 04/06/2009, -1/+4DON'T TALK ***** ABOUT STOCKTON
- Ljay90, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3Wow, I bring shame and dishonor to my family for forgetting that.
I shall commit hari kari as penance. - ZachiusMaximus, on 04/07/2009, -0/+3Yea man I was hooked on the stockton/malone duo ever since nba jam came out in '95 on the genesis
- cyoder, on 04/07/2009, -0/+3I thought he was talking about Bill Murray.
- lynx44, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3Perfectly cromulent comment
- cromulent742, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3It's a crime that Jerry Sloan has never won coach of the year. He becomes the first coach ever to go into the Hall without winning that award.
- obiwanpr, on 04/06/2009, -0/+2Yeah right, keep dreaming.
- cromulent742, on 04/06/2009, -0/+2Fact.
- SnuKs, on 04/06/2009, -0/+2co-signed.
