- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+13I wish we had retired Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton's numbers before the Sonics moved.
You will always hold a special place in Seattle's heart Mr.Kemp. - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+13His sons in college?!?! I feel old.
- inactive, on 12/07/2008, -0/+13He was a serious high-flier before he put on the extra pounds. Him and Dominique Wilkins were two of my favorite dunkers of that era.
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+12Shawn Kemp, man I remember him from back in the day. I still think of professional sports like they were when I was a kid. It is not the same.
- futurepro9, on 08/06/2008, -0/+6I always respected Shawn Kemp's game. I still have a poster of him, from Sports Illustrated for Kids, dunking in the 1992 NBA All Star Game in Orlando up on my wall. That thing has been up there for 16 years......wow
- canewediggit, on 08/05/2008, -0/+5someone get the glove over to italy too! gp/kemp remix!
- lynx44, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5Wow, I didn't realize SLAM was still around. I think I have that exact issue that he's holding in his hand at the end. That was a great time for Seattle basketball when he was on the team and I didn't realize he was so popular outside of this area.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4...and a special place in everyone's heart who ever loved the game of basketball. :-)
- nickbr00tality, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4I haven't read Slam in a long time...Makes me wanna go pick up an issue.
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+4He's looking really good right now. It's too bad he doesn't have the same hops at 38-years-old!
- wezults, on 08/05/2008, -1/+4He was one of the top players until Sports Illustrated made him the poster boy for the reckless behavior of NBA players when they released an article about his partying and having a dozen or so children with a dozen or so different women. Then he ate himself out of the league.
- n3tfury, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3he and payton made me watch basketball. haven't watched much since.
- AddiX, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3i still have his first skybox basketball card, isnt worth anything but it looks cool.
- asus2000, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2I actually understand what he's saying clearly. No poser talk "knowhaimsayn" or other crap stupid talk. Quite inspiring!
That was awesome! - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+2Shawn was always the bitter rival to my late 90s Bulls, but for some reason, I still really liked his game! :-)
- Optiks, on 08/05/2008, -1/+3Nice. Very candid and forthcoming. Until the subject of parenthood comes up. Then it's, "You'll never hear a story about me not taking care of my kids."
Every time this subject comes up Shawn Kemp talks a lot, but says very little. Maybe he needs the money now that his kids are reaching college age. - ru1dt, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2he's so articulate
- mariowario, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2And the Seattle SuperSonics select Robert Swift...
... .... - rodo75005, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2Remember that 1996 NBA final against the Bulls when the Sonics won game 4 & 5 ?
At the time I was a huge Sonics fan, great memories ... - Riggo, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1I followed Kemp back in the day as well. He sounds like he has his act together, which is a nice change from most professional athletes. I hope he does well.
- actuel, on 08/06/2008, -1/+2fck youtube. use Vimeo.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1No more reign on the cover, but plenty of action still going on with the best basketball mag in the game.
- rillo561, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Well said GP and Kemp were awesome for them. Both will be forever Sonics.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1One of the best point guard-big combos in recent history.
- KovoSoccer, on 08/06/2008, -1/+2He was a heck of an athlete
- nkife, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Kemp was my favourite player growing up. Just watching him dunk on everyone and put on a show every game was exciting to watch. I'm glad he's planning on playing again.
- Uflairer, on 08/19/2008, -0/+0I don't know if Kemp can do well in Italy even if his shape is at average or better level.
I can't remember of him scoring from the middle and having a good post play...
He cannot think to jump over opponents as he did in the old times... - ZeeZee2k, on 08/06/2008, -0/+0How many kids is he going to have in Italy?
- guidofw, on 08/08/2008, -0/+0Well, I loved Shawn back in the day...but the only thing that this video confirmed for me is that he really is an idiot. "Let's not talk about our kids?" Why not? Cuz you can't remember how many you had? "I always played hard"? Maybe, but obviously you didn't practice hard if you were coming into season 40 lbs. over weight.
- flashingcurser, on 08/06/2008, -1/+1Uhhh... no.. not really.
- ccourt23, on 08/06/2008, -3/+2Warning.. Never start reading in the middle of the paragraph...
this is what i read:
"I used to love this guy when he was with the Sonics" - funnelweb, on 08/06/2008, -2/+1Those 2 dunks against Golden State are still 2 of my favourite....pity he lost the plot and ruined a good career
- zboyet, on 08/06/2008, -5/+1So do you still live with your parents?
- warlax27, on 08/06/2008, -6/+17 illegitimate kids with 6 women....EPIC FAIL!!
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -7/+2Right on...no audio......Glad I could hear what he said.......use youtube!
- santiago23, on 08/05/2008, -13/+3He was a great player...good to see he's coming back... him and Payton were quite the team if I'm correct... anyways
