- rstarr, on 02/14/2009, -2/+13Extremely aggressive, short arms, and their tails keep getting stepped on when trying to dunk.
- Depthfunction, on 02/14/2009, -4/+15Whatever. O'Neal is long past his prime and Marion is one of the most overrated players in the league. Neither team will improve.
- aduric, on 02/13/2009, -2/+12As a raps fan I like this move. Matrix is a solid player. Now if we can only get Nash...
- FirstCuts, on 02/13/2009, -4/+14good move for toronto. bad for miami. wade will bounce in a few years
- irfanmp, on 02/13/2009, -2/+9Bad for Miami? Let me tell you, everyone in Miami is rejoicing now that we got rid of Marion and Marcus Banks' contract.
- ethanator1088, on 02/14/2009, -1/+7The Raptor have a ton of talent, especially now. Why can't they win?
- fcruz1331, on 02/14/2009, -2/+8Idiot?
buried. - DickyT83, on 02/14/2009, -1/+7Because their stars seem to constantly be injured.
- thezoner, on 02/14/2009, -3/+8i agree--i think it's a steal for the Raps.
- JerkNowitzki, on 02/14/2009, -0/+4The Raptors' roster does not contain any Canadians....
- TalSiach, on 02/14/2009, -1/+5I think we are going to see a better Rap soon..
- swhite76, on 02/14/2009, -2/+5An amazing trade... if it had been made 5 years ago.
- HabsChick, on 02/14/2009, -3/+6this should be better for the Raptors
- pkon, on 02/14/2009, -0/+3Why would you even bother to comment then if you really don't care? Freaking troll.
- inactive, on 02/14/2009, -0/+2klak, hi, you just got owned. by the way it is is spelled "they're"..that was a freebie. owned.
- overlords, on 02/14/2009, -1/+3clever girl
- marvinvenis, on 02/14/2009, -0/+2Because Calderon is a problem?
- mowe, on 02/14/2009, -0/+2Yeah, but Marcus Banks was the problem. He was making almost 5 million for the 2010-11 season.
Considering Miami never played him, that's WAY too much. - shagey36, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1ouch. I agree that JO is past his prime but dont let marion's stats fool u...he is still a solid player
and both teams needed to do something to mix it up cuz they weren't doin too great anyway - inactive, on 02/14/2009, -1/+2the heat at the bare minimum get cap space for 2010 plus a 1st and a 2nd round draft pick.
the icing is if o'neal stays healthy, then they have a post presence and along with haslem at his natural 4 spot and wade (the best scorer in the league), miami can go deep in the playoffs until they run into boston. - canadamike, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1With Marion a free agent this summer the raps clear 17.8 million off their cap. For those of you who don't know, that means they have an extra 18 million they can spend on another player without going over the set limit imposed by the league - great deal for the raps
- inactive, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1white: it is about 2010, nitwit.
- laserdog, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1"Be more constructive with your feedback, please." -Jermaine
- Silverskater145, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1Michael Beasley won't be playing 3 for Miami. It's not an option. Which is why there's a bit of a problem, considering co-captain Haslem is on the team. At some point, either they will be forced to start together, or one of which will be coming off the bench. And that's if they re-sign Haslem, who has meant alot to the Heat and the community. You would hate to see him go, even if it's to allow Beasley to start at the 4.
- tape, on 02/14/2009, -2/+3Headline not worthy of an exclamation point!
- smokewater, on 02/14/2009, -3/+4I didn't know raptors took hostages, and now there trading them? Smart bastards.
- mdisc, on 02/14/2009, -2/+3Toronto gain perimeter defense but lose interior defense (all of it).
- FZero68, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1No defense and no rebounding will do that.
- blackbelt88, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1This is a great move for Miami. Now they have a guy that can actually play center, and they're rid of Shawn Marion, who has played like crap ever since he got to south beach. Look for this move to help the Heat's chances to go somewhere in the playoffs.
- RiMac, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1Sounds like a job for Maury.
- joolsca, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1Klak, the illiterate cretin....you mean like Steve Nash? The 2 time MVP who actually is Canadian?
- Gurmo, on 02/15/2009, -0/+1agreed have to play Beasley at the 4 he is too slow to guard the 3 position, not to say he won't be a good pro, but if I was Reilly I would let teams know he is available and see what you could pickup. You can do a lot worse than Haslem as your starting 4 and he will be much cheaper then Beasley in the long term.
- ElAmo, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1Don't forget cash
- WiseGuy1020, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1Wade is not going anywhere. Miami is going to pay him whatever he wants. This trade was a plus for Miami. They finally got a big inside man. Not to mention 1rst and possibly 2nd round draft picks.
- ian47, on 03/26/2009, -0/+1Too bad no one wants to play in Toronto.
- JerkNowitzki, on 02/14/2009, -1/+2Man, I'm so tired of EVERY SINGLE trade being criticized by geniuses who ALWAYS know better... Just what would you have done?? Continued struggling with the exact same team while your shareholders, fans and the rest of the league criticized YOUR every move?? Tell us what a better solution would have been, please!!
- inactive, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1wrong. this is the best move possible for the heat.. do you use any logic or just pull stuff out of your ass? now they have room to give wade a max deal plus sign another max player in 2010. how would this extra space hurt them? oh and now they have a post presence.. you're a twit.
- marvinvenis, on 02/16/2009, -0/+1Calderon is putting up similar numbers, has a friendly contract, has played 9 less season than Nash and has yet to hit his ceiling.
The Raps need to go get a better two or a tough center. Calderon doesn't need to be replaced. - BluesFan, on 02/14/2009, -4/+4I hope the Rumors of Bosh leaving Toronto aren't true.
- inactive, on 02/14/2009, -1/+0wrong. somehow i think pat o'reilly has much better bball knowledge than your sorry ass.
- Silverskater145, on 02/14/2009, -1/+1If you don't know anything about basketball. Then don't comment.
Miami essentially traded Marion for O'Neal, Moon, and a first round draft pick. Pat Riley must have turned into Billy Mays.
Perfect set-up for the 2010 free-agent signing. Where the Heat will have enough money to grab Wade, another superstar, and have a potential 2010 first-round draft pick (along with their other one). Dwayne isn't leaving Miami. It's the opposite. Every Free Agent will want to move to Miami full-time.
Edit: Not to mention now there's enough space to possibly re-sign Haslem in 2010, if they choose to keep him. - Jamescraza, on 02/16/2009, -0/+0It's really nice article, I think it should be useful for raptors.
http://www.equines4us.com/Breeders/ - whitemage, on 02/14/2009, -2/+2Marion's contract ends this year while Jermaine O'neals contract has another year worth 23 mil.
- brownsound00, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1you just insulted yourself if you are american, italian, spanish, croatian, or french. but not canadian. i WISH the raps had some canadian.s
