- Sfweb, on 10/03/2009, -1/+36lol, I can't believe you just said that.
- BrandonJM, on 10/03/2009, -1/+16Link to the actual article, why do I want to go to someone's blog and just read a paragraph?

- HeDiggMe, on 10/03/2009, -0/+12he's like the basketball version of Jim Abbot
- Snipz, on 10/03/2009, -1/+12the front page is getting a little out of hand lately
- Tubal22, on 10/03/2009, -0/+10Congrats man. For a one handed dude, you sure type a lot.
- LucidDr34m3r, on 10/03/2009, -1/+10This is a really inspiring story (reading the long article posted above: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/one-handed-b ... I'm actually one handed myself and it happened in just about the same way as it did for this guy. What he said is totally true. You might be good but people pass you right up because you are one handed and they don't think you can do it. I tried out for basketball in junior high at a really small school that I went to. I remember in one of the drills they had us go one on one, and the guy I had to go against was about a foot taller than me. I threw a hook shot from the 3 point line and got nothing but net. Anyway, I wasn't great but I was ok. Only about 10% of the people that tried out got cut (including myself), and I can't help but think there was a little bias. I mostly played soccer but they would usually bench me in fear that I would get hurt (I'm not missing my right arm, it just isn't functional and small).
Long story short, I'm glad this guy got his shot. He has something to prove, so he will probably shock a lot of people. - greenmacaw, on 10/03/2009, -0/+8This guy could singlehandedly win a game.
- inactive, on 10/03/2009, -3/+10He has one hand, not one arm, but it's still impressive nonetheless. His right forearm must be as strong as my bicep.
- larsonsm, on 10/03/2009, -3/+10And a looker too, I bet all the girls want his digits.
- mrdude4290, on 10/03/2009, -0/+6I gotta hand it to him, he's a ballsy beast. Hope he does well in college.
- PhAndrew, on 10/03/2009, -1/+7Went to middle school with this guy, he smashed everyone on the courts. Glad he made it this far.
- nicktomyskins, on 10/03/2009, -1/+6I've played against a one-hander before. You would be surprised how useful a nub is.
- mynameisteejay, on 10/03/2009, -0/+5Heyo!
- Speedy7, on 10/03/2009, -1/+5If he's good enough, then there's no 'arm in him playing...
- loki2552, on 10/03/2009, -0/+4I see what you did there...
- soze1, on 10/03/2009, -0/+4A part of me thinks he'll get destroyed playing D1.
- omgTHEPATRIOTS, on 10/03/2009, -0/+3i have a friend who has a prosthetic ankle and use of only one arm from a car accident he was in as a kid. he can drain 3's like nobody's business, and isn't a pushover to steal a ball from. basketball players who have disabilities learn to work with them in order to play a better game.
- LucidDr34m3r, on 10/04/2009, -0/+3Sometimes I type really long replies and then just throw them out. I mean, I don't want to get rusty...
- cdietschrun1, on 10/03/2009, -1/+3Playing guitar? REALLY?
- socomoddjob, on 10/03/2009, -0/+2a old friend of mine played d3 with one hand....
- TheScogg, on 10/03/2009, -0/+2This is really cool. I remember playing 3 on 3 pickup as a young teenager against a guy in a wheelchair. Thinking that a tough defense would be "unfair" to him, I gave him room to shoot. After he sunk the first 3 pointer I thought, "wow, that was lucky". After he sunk the second I though, "Hey this guy must be having a good day. I'd better guard him". After he sunk the third while I was literally standing underneath his front wheels, arms extended, I realized that he was just a great player, regardless of disability. I was so humbled by his skill and dedication that I didn't even mind getting my butt kicked.
- gkiltz, on 10/04/2009, -0/+2There have been a handful of one-handed players in the majors in the history of baseball.
Most recently Jim Abbot.
He did pitch in the American League, after the DH rule was put in. There were several others long before the DH rule.
Some people have made it to the majors with one arm so it's by no means impossible.
I wish him luck. - ddetina, on 10/03/2009, -0/+2This guy's not just an inspiration to people with disabilities. He is amazing.
- techdever, on 10/03/2009, -2/+3go back where you came from
- rdhogan7713, on 10/05/2009, -0/+1The best athlete at my high school had one arm. He played varsity football, baseball and basketball.
- whoreable, on 10/03/2009, -0/+1at least he has to the elbow so he can box people out.
- jagenigma, on 10/04/2009, -0/+1another story about how someone with a disability overcomes adversity and his disability. Let the media start milking this for all its worth to make us feel like *****.
- jgangstahippie, on 10/03/2009, -0/+1WooHoo goes to my college! Go Jaspers!
- Enlefo, on 10/04/2009, -1/+1I hope some rich person sees this and buys the poor kid a robot hand.
- lwoodnj, on 10/03/2009, -2/+1If this made you laugh, I sincerely doubt that is true.
- limabone, on 10/03/2009, -3/+2Not much on the internet these days can make me laugh out loud...bravo sir...bravo.
- augie5390, on 10/17/2009, -2/+0Hi Everyone,
First and foremost I would like to say Congratulations to you Kevin Lau. You have reached a goal in your life that most people would not even attempt. I would like to give a sort of "shout out" to my friend Ace Koski. He to has only one hand and is a guard though. He can ball too, for real. He's nice and will give you buckets all day, especially if you don't respect him.
Augie Johnston
http://www.thejump-manual.com - Absyrd2, on 10/03/2009, -5/+2Would be even more amazing if he wasn't 6'11.
- RussG, on 10/03/2009, -5/+1This guy is a splitting image of the protagonist in the manga, Slam Dunk
- brklynmark, on 10/03/2009, -7/+2What has nine arms and sucks? Manhattan College Basketball
