- inactive, on 11/13/2008, -0/+14O.J. Mayo sounds like a white rapper
- nathanbutnet, on 11/12/2008, -0/+12He is looking like a strong player who just seems to have 'that' look. That said, some of the things he has done in his very young career such as treating his former college coach as a punk ('You don't call OJ, OJ calls you') and referring to himself in the third person all ready is very douchy.
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -1/+9what is it with the blacks and o.j.
- aaskin12, on 11/12/2008, -0/+7I'm from MN, why do we always do this? Drives me up a wall!
- Lagstorm, on 11/13/2008, -0/+7Vitamin C.
- HilaryMuff, on 11/13/2008, -0/+6My highschool played OJ's team (Rose Hill Christian Acadamy) when he was a 7th grade varsity starter. This kid was DUNKING on highschool seniors in MIDDLESCHOOL. Quite a sight to see, and everyone knew he was going pro back then.
- iamstudip, on 11/12/2008, -0/+4He should sign endorsement deals with Tropicana and Kraft. OJ and Mayonnaise. Yum.
- Vosona, on 11/13/2008, -0/+3Don't you mean purple drank?
- fakeplasticsnow, on 11/13/2008, -1/+4I went to high school with OJ when I was a junior and he was a senior. Seeing him and Patrick Patterson together on a team was incredible. I remember going to games where we would win by 50 with OJ dunking over 5 foot white guys. I must say, that was one of the best years of my life. I wish him the best and hope he can continue this.
Edit: Here is a video I took at one of the games:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ0_6OsxQQ0 - Digital.Totem, on 11/13/2008, -0/+3I knew he was good when I saw him playing high school varsity ball in 8th grade, but calling him a "superstar" is premature.
- AManOfLOP33, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2True, but that's mainstream media hate. This kid went to all his classes (that's right Matt Lienart: actual GE classes) in his short tenure at SC, got a 27 on his ACTs in HS, rarely ever seen out and about while he was in college, and is a real nice young man to virtually anyone who approaches him.
Sure, he is seen as a douche because of some friend telling Tim Floyd "OJ is playing for you", the ref incident in HS, the weed incident in HS, the repeating-8th-grade-just-to-play-another-year deal, the boosters at Southern Cal...... I know you may think he is douchy from how ESPN likes to portray him, but I assure you he really is a good guy and maybe once he becomes a star, the media will dive deeper into his character.
But yes, he def has the look and determination to be a stud for sure. - randmcnally, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2dugg your comment, haha funny, then I was like: JewSlayer WTF?
-1 - IIECONII, on 11/12/2008, -0/+2OJ and mayo. Sounds like a rather kinky night for me.
- brycelb, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Before everyone gets carried away and to put things in some kind of perspective, I think Mayo is older than Andrew Bynum. He was 20 last year
- brycelb, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2I guarantee you he won't be. He doesn't have the work ethic to get it done. Rose is already much better.
- mcspeakeasy, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2I'm waiting for him to hit the freshman wall before I annoint him. If he doesn't have a significant drop off after the all star break, then its safe to say this guy can hang it up with the big boys. Who wouldn't want a guy who could go 28/5/5/3. Those are kobe numbers.
- DickyT83, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Atleast you got Kevin Love................
- boardthis, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1still tastier than OJ miracle hwip.
- cmjM67, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1my favorite rookie by far
i don't know if its his appearance or style, but he caught my attention - ZeeZee2k, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1we're gonna shut him down today!!! just kidding...
- Jeffler, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1hhehehehehe
- ALink2ThePast, on 11/13/2008, -2/+3Nice, he's on my fantasy team.
Anyone else? - brycelb, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1I think you got the much better deal in Miller and Love. Love is going to be very good. I watched every single one of his college games and most of Mayo's and Love was better. Time will tell on the NBA level but Love is going to be very good.
- pennvneff, on 11/13/2008, -1/+2OJ Mayo for Kevin Love, that was just brilliant. Cue the Bowie/Jordan references now.
- boardthis, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1why hasnt memphis changed their team name yet? grizzlies in tennessee? you're doing it wrong!
- bruin8uclap, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1He also broke his teammate's jaw while at USC. Publicly it was said it was an accident, but insiders say it was a sucker punch.
- jfg84, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Thank Kevin McHale.
- flammenwurfer, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I don't think so. KU's second round pick Mario Chalmers, who is on the same team, has been outplaying Beasley.
- nathanbutnet, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Fair enough point AManOfLOP33. I am keeping an open mind about the guy - I do hope that he and Rose (my boy) develop into stars to keep the league going along with the King.
- hermizzle, on 11/13/2008, -1/+2Only 2 weeks into the season!! Wait a few season before calling Mayo a star.
- credential101, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1I drafted Mayo and Derrick Rose in my fantasy league at what seems to be now a bargain (7th and 9th rounds)...it's paying off pretty well.
- pennvneff, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Except she didn't, OJ stands for Ovinton J'Anthony.
***** you're an idiot. - CYR1X, on 11/13/2008, -1/+1Really? Haven't seen him get any notice on ESPN.
- Koushiro, on 11/13/2008, -2/+2Worst name ever.
- bigtimslim, on 11/13/2008, -1/+1My rookie of the year vote goes to Roy Hibbert just because he even kind of looks like Dr. Hibbert

..................................., - iwantmuscle, on 02/24/2009, -0/+0what a idiot... kevin love suxs. Hindsight is a bitch
- beatz106, on 02/24/2009, -0/+0Minnesota Timberwolves McHale will be kick himself till the day he dies. No Mater the NBA needs more stars, more excitement... http://www.betphoenix.com/basketball/nba/
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -0/+0Ahh, if only the Knicks had him.
- tombofdoom, on 11/14/2008, -0/+0..is probably injured as we speak.
- tombofdoom, on 11/12/2008, -2/+1Totally agree. He's helping to make the Grizzlies watchable again. Riding on back to back 30 point games (earlier in his career than Lebron did), he is becoming a force for this young team.
Now why in the world wouldn't Iavoroni give him the ball at the end of the game last night? Check it... http://tombofdoom.blogspot.com - tokabowla, on 11/13/2008, -2/+1What? No love for Cranberryjuice Mustard? What about Prunejuice Ketchup?
The nurse should of popped his mom in the face when she wrote down "O.J. Mayo" on the birth certificate. For ***** sakes! - nepidae, on 11/13/2008, -2/+0What a badass, I bet he will murder the competition.
- inactive, on 11/13/2008, -2/+0This kid is great. He played amzing for the Trojans!
- JeffH, on 11/13/2008, -3/+1Greg Oden.
- WorldLeader, on 11/13/2008, -4/+1Still no Micheal BEASLEY.. I guarantee you he will be the best NBA player from this freshman class. After watching him in person during his season at K-State let me assure you that this guy is absolutely a freak of nature. We schooled OJ and the Trojans when they went head to head, and our mediocre guard basically shut OJ down.
Mike > OJ
