- hermizzle, on 04/28/2009, -2/+58Should never happen in a playoff game. What an embarrassment.
- inactive, on 04/28/2009, -2/+35It was also reported that if they would have scored 1 more point that they would have in fact broke that record.
- Duvali, on 04/28/2009, -0/+23New Orlean's game plan: here is the ball chris, do something.
- MCLennon93, on 04/28/2009, -1/+22what happened to chris paul? 4 points and 6 turnovers?!
- kooredaan, on 04/28/2009, -2/+19Nuggets went on a 121-63 run.
- hayden.evans, on 04/28/2009, -2/+18Growing up in Colorado, I never thought the Nuggets would ever be good in my lifetime. Guess i was proven wrong
- trapper2530, on 04/28/2009, -2/+17i still think the bulls 96-54 win against hte jazz in the 98 NBA finals is worse, it might have been only a 42 point win but holding a team with john stockton and karl malone to 54 in the finals is 100X more impressive
- bigthree, on 04/28/2009, -7/+20what happened to that NO team from last year that showed so much promise? The nuggets are not this good.
- Dodey23, on 04/28/2009, -0/+12Moving Allen Iverson was the best move Denver has done in decades.
- wallitron, on 04/28/2009, -0/+11I heard that if they scored 2 more points, they would also have broken that same record.
- TomGfromCanada, on 04/28/2009, -0/+11Billups made this team what it is.
- anderzole, on 04/28/2009, -0/+11Billups is a beast!
- BossKey, on 04/28/2009, -0/+10And boom goes the dynamite.
- kooredaan, on 04/28/2009, -0/+8Well considering they had 2 of the best defenders in the history of the game on the team.... It's not that surprising. Add Rodman and Ron Harper, defensively.
- alittleroy101, on 04/28/2009, -0/+8Also tonight, Dexter Fowler ties a modern-day rookie record with five stolen bases as Rockies win 12-7 over the Padres.
Good day for Colorado sports. - pableaux, on 04/28/2009, -1/+8I just got back home from that game. It was PATHETIC! Every Hornet had a horrible game. They were not hustling, they were missing easy rebounds, throwing errant passes, taking crappy shots. Plus, it just kept getting worse as they got more desperate. The officiating sucked (more than usual) and most of the calls were going for the Nuggets, but that wasn't the main cause of the collapse. The Nuggets were certainly good, but they weren't record-breaking good. It was mostly that CP3 was off & absolutely nobody else was able to step up.
- NMed04, on 04/28/2009, -1/+8That score sounds like it belongs in the first round of the NCAA tourney... as in the play-in team vs. the #1 overall seed.
- cMXR, on 04/28/2009, -0/+7MELOOOOO
i think we know who got the better of the billups iverson trade - woofers07, on 04/28/2009, -1/+8Why couldn't Posey just make one damn free throw that last game in the season. Then it could be the Blazers mopping up N.O. instead of struggling against Houston.
- kooredaan, on 04/28/2009, -0/+7Ummm, sure it does. Especially in a 7 game series.
You don't think the Hornets will have the drubbing in the back of their minds? Or the Nuggets will get over confident because of it.
The Nuggets lost game 3 in a close game. They had every thought they could hang with the Hornets in NO.... And they did more than that. - HarrisonBn, on 04/28/2009, -1/+7Definitely an embarrassment.
An awesome embarrassment. - knubblet, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/1998 ...
124/59 ~ 2.102
that's gonna be hard to beat - macapplejobs, on 04/28/2009, -0/+5It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile....
- Hardrockshero, on 04/28/2009, -3/+8Watch a game this season. The Nuggets ARE that good.
- adrenaline33, on 04/28/2009, -0/+5amen man
- mizatt, on 04/28/2009, -1/+6The Nuggets have been awesome for the last couple of months
- bigstinky, on 04/28/2009, -0/+4It was so nice of Dumars to give Denver Chauncy in exchange for that bitch Iverson. Brilliant move. The Pistons were on their way out anyway, but at least with Chauncy, they could have gone out with a shred of integrity.
I wish Mr Big Shot the best of luck...Thanks for the Championship. - trapper2530, on 04/28/2009, -4/+8wait there is a team out west thats good beside the lakers?
- stormgren, on 04/28/2009, -3/+7In fact, -tougher- teams in the east would, if you think about it, result it worse records. The east is a hell-hole with 3 of the best 4 teams in the NBA. Decent teams out west easily breeze to 50 wins. In the east we claw for every game.
- rompom7, on 04/28/2009, -0/+4Really? That's not what I heard. I heard that if they scored 1 less point they would not have tied the NBA All-time Record.
- AlienHairball, on 04/28/2009, -0/+4Dunno why you're getting dug down unless like me there are Avs fans here that would rather not be reminded of the abomination that was their season. ;-)
- duggdowncatisad, on 04/28/2009, -1/+5Seriously who would ever have guessed (all in the same year):
Avs -- last place in the Western Conference
Rockies -- No playoffs for you
Broncos -- Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
Nuggets -- Pwning in the NBA playoffs - doomchronage, on 04/28/2009, -0/+3Unfortunately, that's exactly how it is. They need Pargo back and new big men.
- bobdigi, on 04/28/2009, -0/+3Whoever missed that one free throw must be kicking himself.
- johnmicheld, on 04/28/2009, -1/+4it's great news.
- bladzalot, on 04/28/2009, -0/+3Look at the stands in that video clip...there are like 11 fans still remaining...they could easily refund the 11 tickets :-)
- BossKey, on 04/28/2009, -1/+3Huh? It wasn't easy for the Celtics last year. They had to claw their way through the series just the same way they are this year. They went to six games in two series and seven games in the other two. After dragging themselves through 26 of 28 possible games, it's a wonder that the Celtics still had any energy left to humiliate LA in the finals like they did. Though this year it looks like Cleveland and LA in the finals.
- hoojx34, on 04/28/2009, -0/+2Pity on CP3...
- himthatwas, on 04/28/2009, -0/+2Winning coach fired?
- tmeaster, on 04/28/2009, -0/+2Agreed. To not even show up is horrible. All of the fans that attended should receive a full refund for those tickets.
- loaded123, on 04/28/2009, -0/+2This is so true. The Hornets need another big time scorer, preferrably a big man.
- BrettSchu, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1You must not watch that much basketball.
- bpm2000, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1yup - this state of the NBA is why i have pretty much ceased to watch professional basketball
- inactive, on 05/01/2009, -0/+1You want to know the biggest beat downs ever in sports check out this: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/115947-the-top- ...
- kingamoon, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1Hey dumbass .. He's not serious. He's simply referring to the 100-0 coach who got fired.
- redfred18t, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1The bulls won twice in OT, both times by such a small margin that one or two bad calls in the refs would have resulted in the celtics winning. I dont think they are struggling at all, especially considering they dont have Garnett or Powe. If they did, the series would have been 4-0 celtics IMO
- bladzalot, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Real Mature
- skippy562, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1did you get your money back?
- Neiby, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1What's scary is that the game wasn't as close as the score would indicate. If the Nuggets had applied just a tiny bit more pressure in the fourth quarter instead of slacking off a bit, especially on offense, this could easily have been more like 132-57 or something like that. The Hornets flat out quit. It's like they weren't even trying. Then again, the Nuggets were playing some freaking amazing defense last night. I've never seen them play like that.
