- BeShirtHappy, on 11/25/2008, -0/+7It is hard to believe a team could be this bad for so long. Btw, I don't know why the thumbnail didn't show up.
- inactive, on 11/26/2008, -0/+7Their football team sucked for like Forever and a day. Then about 10 years ago they started getting better and started going to Bowl games. Actually came one game away from a National Title 1 year. I remember it well. Some douche bet a dollar and was gonna win a million in cash if NU won. They didn't. Now they are just average. I guess the moral of the story is to always make sure that you use a letter opener to open your mail. Sure hope you learned something today. I know I sure did!
- inactive, on 11/25/2008, -0/+7They suck bad. Have they tried using their 1st string ever?
- inactive, on 11/25/2008, -0/+6Thumbnail didn't show up because....IMAGE NOT AVAILABLE. :-)

- inactive, on 11/26/2008, -0/+4Have you ever decided to quit talking about your string all the time?
- AmyVernon, on 11/26/2008, -0/+4When I went to NU, there were two things you could count on: the football and men's basketball teams sucked. It's just something we lived with. In fact, we took pride in their suckiness, because if you're going to be bad, why not be the worst?
- benhollister, on 11/26/2008, -0/+4Seriously, man?
Why do people go to concerts anymore? Didn't they invent CDs for you music people?
Why do people even travel anymore? Didn't they invent cameras for you travel people?
And ***** the Michigan fans: www.walmartwolverines.com - FatLoser, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2too hot to be real and on digg... probably just some spammer using a female pic to get more attention
- threemagic, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2Maybe you should talk to the coach. You might be onto something.
- threemagic, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2Hurray for Ms. Obvious.. we'd be lost without her.
- Pluckie, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2i've been a student at northwestern for four years and have yet to attend a single basketball game. few do. the basketball team, like the majority of northwestern athletics, is a huge joke.
- threemagic, on 11/26/2008, -1/+3SPORTING PREDICTION:
byukid's comment will lose more than any NU team ever... - bwjacket, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2I almost wish that they were out of the Big Ten with Notre Dame in their place. But there is something about them I sorta like. Whenever my Buckeyes beat down on them, it's like beating up your little brother... your purple-clad little brother.
- inactive, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2Aw, quit yer whining losers. If Florida State University's football team can find a Rhodes scholar and a good player to be on their team then you can find 6 kids to be on your team. Lazy fcks. Excuses are like *****. Everyone has one and you are one big *****.
- byukid, on 11/26/2008, -1/+3I figured it had to be said, and I'm the one to say it.
- lac29, on 11/26/2008, -0/+2Undergrad at NU was painful ... academically and athletically. And my friends wonder why I root for 'Bama ...
- dext3r, on 11/26/2008, -1/+2you figured wrong.
- daschmidty, on 11/26/2008, -0/+1NU students/fans, do something about it!
I live near Chicago, and go to the U of Illinois (NU is about 4 stratospheres above what I can afford) and I went to the NU/Illini game in Evanston last week. Even with NU at 8-3 and vying for a big-time bowl, the stadium was maybe 70% full, and 2/3 of that was in orange and blue! Go out and support your teams, and maybe the recruiting will go better. Especially for football when NU is one of only 3 schools in the state that play FBS collegiate football. (There is more competition for hoops, especially with the rise of SIU and ISU as powers in the Missouri Valley) I really hope Northwestern can shake this terrible streak some day (as long as it's not at the expense of my Illini!) - pkoerner, on 11/26/2008, -0/+1I am disappointed in you.
- LeftistPersona, on 11/26/2008, -1/+2C'mon Luckow, you gotta be more realistic than that. Why would anyone want to play ball here if there was no crowd to play for?
When was the last time you went to a football game? or a women's lacrosse game? or how about men's soccer? We're in the NCAA tourney for soccer, our football team when 9 - 3 this year, and our women's lacross has been the best in the nation for 4 years straight. Give NU a little more credit.
And say hi to Garrett! Lets do dinner again. - LeftistPersona, on 11/26/2008, -1/+2I too was at the game, it wasn't two thirds U of I fans. It was probably 50/50 (I am a student).
I do agree with what you're saying though. - pkoerner, on 11/26/2008, -0/+0It's tough for Northwestern to get the turn outs of other Big 10 schools. It's a fact that every other Big Ten school save Penn State has more alumni in the Chicago area than NU. That is how we get out sold at most of our home games in basketball and football against Big 10 teams having good years. As a lifelong basketball fan and current Northwestern student, it pains me to see a program I root for struggle so much, but I still go to all the games. I guess I am just holding onto a last little bit of hope.
- booktin, on 03/08/2009, -0/+0Love Books? Love Booktin.
http://www.booktin.com/ - Closso, on 12/24/2008, -0/+0That's just not true. I was at that game. Our student section was completely full, and there were more Northwestern fans than Illinois. Admittedly, not by much,
- inactive, on 11/29/2008, -0/+0The lack of tradition definitely seems to be the key here. With all of the talented high school players in the Chicago area, Northwestern could quickly turns things around with one or two strong recruiting classes. The Wildcats wouldn't even have to get the state's top prospects to be competitive, because even the second- and third-tier Illinois recruits are so good. It's just a tough chicken-and-egg issue: You can't win in the Big 10 without good players, and it's hard to get good players without winning.
- byukid, on 11/26/2008, -4/+3But with Obama in charge, all that's gonna change, right?
- jpreall, on 11/26/2008, -3/+2The Michigan fans sure like coming to NU, clogging our roads, and littering our parking lots just to see us lose miserably. Or so I hear, because I don't understand why you'd travel even 2 miles to see mediocre athletics. Or good ones, for that matter. Didn't they invent TV for you sports people?
