- woofers07, on 01/14/2009, -4/+27The Blazers didn't do anything. This was blown WAY out of proportion. They didn't flat out say, "Sign Miles and we'll sue you." like everyone is claiming, other teams were talking about purposely signing Miles for the sole purpose of ***** the Blazers salary cap, and facing them to pay a $9million luxury tax which goes to, you guessed it, every other team in the league. The email wasn't the best way to handle the situation but, it was mainly just an "empty threat" to get those other d-bag owners to second guess themselves before "maliciously" signing Miles. ***** the Haters, go Rip City.
- inactive, on 01/14/2009, -5/+22Portland is the *****.
- StealthSnake832, on 01/14/2009, -1/+6The Blazers actually tried to claim Miles of waivers, but luckily the NBA stepped in.

- inactive, on 01/14/2009, -0/+4Miles injury was way to much for a comeback. Memphis has a bad record, but they are in the western conference which explains alot, they made there mistake trading Pau Gasol for 7 dollars or whatever else they did. A front court of Pau and Marc Gasol along with Rudy Gay and the back court of Mayo and Mike Conley should be a tough team to mess with, and in the east they would be a 5-8th seed. Either way, go rip city!
- skippyoh, on 01/14/2009, -0/+4I keep seeing articles about Portland on Digg.
Someone tell me...where is this magical land? - PxCxG, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3Sports stories seem to be making it to the front page more often these days, even though they still don't get that many votes. Perhaps digg gives sports a little boost to try and broaden its appeal beyond IT guys and atheists?
- CroatSensation7, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3Don't even joke about that...
- DreamVsPs2, on 01/14/2009, -1/+4well, grizzlies play the blazers in a few games, they should let Miles play for a few secs and that should punish them
- akshay626, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3They traded Pau for Marc so how would they play together?
- ph1sh55, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3They did not threaten to sue a team that was signing Miles with a legitimate interest in what he brought as a player. In their letter they explicitly said they would pursue litigation only if a team signed him "with the express interest of hurting the blazers salary cap blah blah blah". Stupid email, stupid to send it, but technically nothing wrong about it. Everyone leaves that qualifier out of the 'threat'.
- ImperialSoren, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2once again, portland cums inside of the league's quivering butt cheeks
- thethunderbird, on 01/16/2009, -0/+2But somehow, Sean Avery get's fined and suspended by the NHL for calling Elisha Cuthbert sloppy seconds.
- abhi2223, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Wasn't he already getting paid from the insurance company instead of Trail Blazers?
- diemunkiesdie, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2I don't understand, are they required to pay him the $18 million as well? And if he comes out of injury retirement, wouldn't he be back with his old team?
- djholybolt, on 01/15/2009, -0/+2Yeah, we like our privacy, as MrGreenwood says... So stay off our lawn!
- jonnypockets, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Twelve miles through Candy Land, seven cart wheels over the rainbow, and a left at Burnside.
It's well worth the journey. - GwingWong, on 01/14/2009, -1/+2i dunt trust what miles said: " i just wanna play basketball"
- Cpd4224, on 01/14/2009, -1/+2he was pretty good in The Perfect Score...
- make7upyours06, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1So... I move out of Portland and the Blazers start playing basketball for once. What the hell.... I use to throw away free Blazer tickets. Godamn it.
- kizio, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1Impossible! Such things make me a bit crazy http://petsjournal.info
- adamchristopher, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1He'll get the remaining 18 mil in his contract regardless.
- MrGreenwood, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1Its hidden, just the way we like it.
- terrachronos, on 01/14/2009, -3/+4No surprise here, the NBA is full of punks and thugs and is run by the same type of people.
- ajUCI, on 01/14/2009, -3/+3This will make Darius Miles a very rich man. Collusion in sports never ends well for team owners.
- laurenkim6, on 11/24/2009, -0/+0well i guess youre honest about jumping on the wagon?
- lavinpratap, on 01/17/2009, -0/+0Buy or sell NBA,NCAA,NFL,MLB,theater, concert tickets in this web site.
http://nomoso.110mb.com/deal/entertainment.html - inactive, on 01/14/2009, -3/+2In the business world, that's illegal. Very illegal. With your logic, insider trading is blown out of proportion because of how simple the crime is.
- redslash, on 01/14/2009, -4/+1this is so bush league!
- Branchex, on 01/14/2009, -6/+2What the hell is the NBA doing with this utilitarian approach. The threat didn't stop a team from signing him therefore the Blazers are not punished. I'm sure the police treat threats the same way. Portland's actions still could have of stopped another team from signing him first.
- humpy, on 01/14/2009, -12/+3Sucks for the Blazers. The thing that's funny is they WROTE the contract that had this guideline in it, cut him, and threatened to sue any team that picked up Darius Miles for two games. The only reason the NBA isnt going to fine them is because they are going to take the cap hit anyway.
Congrats to Memphis for having the balls to sign him at the expense of another team. good game blazers, but you lose.
