- SooperSonic, on 10/22/2009, -0/+18Now maybe MLB will let him own the Cubs.
- ScooterG, on 10/22/2009, -2/+19I agree 100% with Mr. Cuban. Steroid hysteria is grounded in ignorance and antiquated notions of retaining the "purity" of the game.
- Bricoop, on 10/22/2009, -4/+15A drug that helps people heel more quickly. If they approve this, whats next? Stem cell research support. Stop Cuban!!!
- penguinofspades, on 10/22/2009, -0/+6pretty sure that was the original point...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anabolic_steroid#Medi ... - Phroday, on 10/22/2009, -0/+6what retard doesnt support steroids in medical treatments? I never thought that was the issue. Its about the ones guys take to beef up their performance thats the problem.
- frequentFlyer, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3I know a guy who does this under a doctor's supervision. He has no zits or rage and he looks like he came out of a Marvel comic. The ones who screw it up are the ones you hear about.
- depro9, on 10/22/2009, -2/+5Capitalist LOL
- Nitrodist88, on 10/22/2009, -1/+4Yeah, no way that anyone would have emotional problems, weight problems and acne without steroids!
- mustache, on 10/22/2009, -1/+4*heal
- paulvq, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Mark Cuban owns an NBA team. He's not in baseball...yet.
- calcm, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1is he talking about such products as Androgel?
http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/archives/fdaD ...
AndroGel contains testosterone, a Schedule III controlled substance as defined by the Anabolic Steroids Control Act. But I don't think it is truly an anabolic steroid. - inactive, on 10/22/2009, -1/+2Harmless like Marijuana? Seriously? No drug, whether it be Marijuana to Advil is harmless. Marijuana causes severe memory loss, distorted perception, difficulty with problem solving and critical thinking skills and more. Im not againts marijuana but im tired of users making it into something that it isnt.
- heynow21, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1If it weren't for pro sports anabolic steroids would (still) be legal for prescription recreational use. Don't underestimate pro sports insidious PR and lobbying efforts in numerous areas.
- JigoroKano, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1How long did he take steroids for poison ivy? It shouldn't have been that much.
Those kinds of long term effects generally come from long term use, like people with bad asthma not poison ivy. - b1gm1ke, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1what's this???
http://www.biomedexperts.com/Abstract.bme/18079075 ...
On the subject, despite the purists' naivete, imagine the highlights in sports if most athletes are under a doctor's supervision and taking roids! - milobennett, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Shut his mouth - he has no right to an opinion. Right?
- Phroday, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Not severe memory loss. Theres some short term memory loss, much like when drinking, mostly caused by a shortened attention span. There are no real long term effects though. Mostly harmless. Like with most drugs, be it booze, coke, caffeine, or tobacco, the harmfulness is determined by the frequency and timing of use. If used as an accent, even a daily one, it serves no detrimental effects in the long term.
- Tyrghast, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1so... how does Cuban stand to make a profit off this new stance?
- filldeviant, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1You're right. Correlation is not causation.
- scoottie, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1I dont know about sports but steroids (in some form) are already used in medicine. I had a third degree burn and they gave low dose steroids along with the pain killers.
- bandomac, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Just say no to saying no. No is so negative.
- bandomac, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1No, just a clean, mean, mind altering machine.
- milobennett, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1No! Deny people the right to normal medical procedures cause they are jocks. We have too damn many jocks anyway.
- bandomac, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1There are some drugs that are poisons, like alchohol or mushrooms. There are others, like Cannabis, that simply alter our states of mind through our natural chemical receptors. You can die when overdosing on poisons, but you really with non poisonous chemicals.
- bandomac, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Some of the best thinkers are erratic and crazy. That is why they succeed, and the safety thinker fail.
- bandomac, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1I have been prescribed a steroid for medical use. When I get the flu or a cold, my lungs are dangerously effected. Steroids, and a prophylactic dosage of antibiotics helps my lungs recover in about 2 days vs. 3 weeks
- depro9, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1http://chapter11studios.files.wordpress.com/2008/0 ...
- b1gm1ke, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1in a rare, unplanned moment of pure irony, the very next thing I saw on digg was this:
http://digg.com/d317wIz - keysersozejr, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Spinal steroid injections are quite common. They put you under a real time x-ray so they don't jab you in the spinal cord. As soon as the steroid is injected you feel a tremendous pressure in your hamstrings, almost as if someone is ripping them out. Not once did I hit a home run in the days after the injections...even though I did have a strong urge to buy a #13 Yankees Jersey.
Toradol or Ketorolac as well as Marcaine or Bupivacaine are the most abused injected pharmaceuticals in sports today and they take away all your pain, make you feel like Superman and are way more harmful than steroids. - Lonandubh, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Naw, man, you want people to toe the line and do whatever you tell them to, and if there's a drug to make them do that...
- mlvassallo, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Cuban needs to learn the difference between Anabolic Steroids and Corticosteroids.
- bandomac, on 10/22/2009, -1/+1Oh, I get it Joker Cat...? Anarchist humor...I am all for anarchy, but that doesn't have anything to do with capitalism. Try getting anything done without Capital. I guess you could make crosses out of palm leaves, sell them to unsuspecting beach walkers. Good luck with that.
- bandomac, on 10/22/2009, -1/+1What the hell is that supposed to mean? I think the communists had their share of Steroid use in their athletics programs too.
- rwbrinso, on 10/22/2009, -7/+7Does marijuana count as a steroid?
- dynamitshikoku1, on 10/23/2009, -0/+0buried for lack of knowledge on cannabis
- camaroz06, on 10/22/2009, -2/+2TRY TO BUY THE PIRATES FOR GOD SAKES!
- Arymo, on 10/22/2009, -3/+2thank god someone in baseball gets it
- inactive, on 10/22/2009, -1/+0can this guy just keep his damn mouth shut for once..
- mrzack7, on 10/22/2009, -3/+1good, also medical marijuana must be more available. and don't take the big pharma vaccines. don't get dumbed down. filter your water.
- filldeviant, on 10/22/2009, -4/+1I'm not for or against this, but I am a little wary of using steroids for medical use. My friend had a severe case of poison ivy as a boy, and he was prescribed steroids. The long terms effects: emotional problems, lots of weight gained, and a very bad case of acne. My personal view of it: research it more; make it safer. Stuff like this tends to have some pretty bad side effects; why don't we start endorsing the medical use of... oh, I don't know... something harmless like marijuana?
- T8erT0T, on 10/22/2009, -6/+2"I'm not an expert in the subject..."
Mark Cuban, a one man epiphany factory. - Cole2026, on 10/22/2009, -6/+1It is sort of cool that he graduated from my high school, even in acknowledging how erratic and crazy he can be.
- nepidae, on 10/22/2009, -6/+1Dare to say no to drugs.
- arkwald, on 10/22/2009, -7/+1oh no.. it's a medical steroid... really that is why he looks like the incredible hulk now...
Never trust money... Mark Cuban is a goddamn idiot just looking to line his bank account.
