- UNCCEJ1010, on 03/17/2008, -1/+11Why is it that without fail people come into the every single popular sports thread and waste their time telling us they don't care?
http://digg.com/settings/topics
Turn the sports section off, or maybe just the sport you don't care about.
Or if you really have nothing better to do, get a hobby. - ccdigg1, on 03/17/2008, -0/+5I'd like to meet this UNC guy sometime.
- Ryan2845, on 03/17/2008, -5/+10ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
- AgentMull, on 03/17/2008, -0/+3Yeah, It would be an awesome final round to play Texas again.
- jstohler, on 03/17/2008, -0/+3Not if they play like they did in that ACC championship game. I'm all for the Heels, but they won't last the 2nd round if they play like that.
- UTKevdawg, on 03/17/2008, -1/+4I can understand Tennessee not getting a 1 spot, the other teams are just as deserving. But it is crap that the team with the highest RPI and one of the toughest schedules got the worst two seed.
- tenster, on 03/17/2008, -1/+4ditto that brother
- AgentMull, on 03/17/2008, -0/+3***** A.
- badqat, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2Virginia is a commonwealth...
- gerbco, on 03/17/2008, -1/+3yeah... the bloomberg thing def made me do a double take... hey as long as its accurate.
- eric0213, on 03/17/2008, -2/+4What are you talking about? West Virginia made it.
- Ryan2845, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2As a KU fan I think it is pretty much a draw for which one of us should be a 1, but I think it definitely works out better this way for both of us. Hope to see you guys in the finals!
- canewediggit, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2yes, i'm spamming my submission, but if you want in on a digg bracket contest, check out;
http://digg.com/basketball/It_s_the_digg_Final_4_C ...
it's a yahoo league, so it's not like i'm getting any money off this. just thought it might be a fun contest. - SQFreak, on 03/17/2008, -6/+8While I know I'll get dugg down by the unbelievably huge legion of UNC fans...
Go to hell, Carolina, go to hell! Go to hell, Carolina, go to hell! Go to hell, Carolina, go to hell!
Also, go Wildcats! (No, not the Kentucky Wildcats -- the Davidson Wildcats, a 10-seed in the Midwest..) - evi1, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2I am actually glad Texas picked up a 2 seed in Houston over a 1 seed elsewhere. Littlerock, Houston, than San Antonio Baby!
- hutch113, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2I think Indiana's and more specifically Eric Gordon's struggles down the stretch run had a lot to do with the seeding.
I hate IU basketball, glad that you got rid of the cheater, hope that Eric Gordon is a complete bust in the NBA, but I do think IU should have gotten at worst a 6 seed. - ScottoGato, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2It's a tough call, but the Pac-10 was a fricken gauntlet this year. For the Pac-10 to only get 6 teams in, is the real problem. Arizona State should have been in as well, not just substituted for Arizona.
- menacingcheese, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Umm yeah. West Virginia is actually a separate state from Virginia.
- ScottoGato, on 03/17/2008, -2/+3Just curious as to who gets their sports news from bloomberg.com? I might have to send our submitter a few sports links so this doesn't happen again.
I can already see my Tivo hard drive full of games while I'm away at work. - nzezelj89, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Boilermakers probably won't make it to the Elite 8, however, I do see them in the Sweet Sixteen :D
As for the first first-seed team to probably fall, I'm guessing UCLA. Regardless of the teams that reach the Final Four, this is THE best season for sports. It's gonna be another exciting March Madness IMHO ;-) - Ryan2845, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Yeah it is more about location, the committee rewarded Tennessee by having them play as close to home as possible. Don't get caught up in thinking one 2 seed is better than another.
- drizzlelicious, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Unfortunately not big enough to get you dugg down into the negatives
- daivos, on 03/17/2008, -4/+5The Big East gets 8 teams?!?!?! And Kentucky, who was already in question, loses in the first round of their conference tournament, and still gets in over Virginia Tech.
Even more dumb? Arizona, who had a worse conference record, and two straight-up loses to Arizona State, gets in over Arizona State. - tenster, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1I don't think seeding is as important as location. All the #1's are great teams this year, so it doesn't really matter which one you are paired up against. Tennessee gets to play regionals in Charlotte which is better than them playing at Detroit, Houston, or Phoenix. I'd rather my school play close to the campus, so it's easier for the team and us fans to travel. In the end you have to beat everybody anyways.
- hinmanj, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Man... Indiana losing to Minnesota by 1 the other night really messed up our seed, a #8 seed?! nooo! I don't want to play North Carolina!
- kelsosmythe, on 03/17/2008, -2/+2Kansas State?
Bah. Jayhawks all the way. - inactive, on 03/17/2008, -5/+5I think UCLA's win over USC was pretty cheap. We'll see how they fair out when they play UNC (if they play UNC), should be a damn good game.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -0/+0Yeah they shouldn't of got number 1 after their dissapointing showing in the tourney, btw, do i know you?
- chlsmith, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1Grumbling over not getting into a field of 65 teams is sad. I'm a Hokie myself, but there is no reason to cry over being 66th. Bob Knight said on Sportscenter that there should be a round of 128, just so everyone deserving gets in. Come on! In college football, the 3rd place team bitches. If they made it an 8-team playoff, #9 would bitch. In basketball, there are 65 teams in the tournament! 65 out of 341! Almost 19% of the schools get in! If your team is barely getting into the top 19%, I say deal with the fact you're staying at home and, if you get in, take it as a charity gift. UK got in this year by way of charity...oh, and by going 12-4 in the SEC regular season.
There's always the NIT! From what I remember at Cassell, there were several NIT banners hanging from the rafters. They played in the A10 back then, yet they still sucked. - TheUnlearn, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1What's that? Tyler and Co. are blowing the refs, you say?
- eTronicGaming, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1I'm sure you would.
- chillmandan, on 03/17/2008, -3/+3Way to waste your time.
- imNotaCylon, on 03/17/2008, -0/+0Being a Kansas fan, I know Roy and the one thing I learned having Roy at Kansas is that he cant play physically tough, grind-it-out teams like, oh I dont know, a Bill Self coached Kansas team. UNC is good, but I can see them hitting a wall if it comes to a UNC-KU showdown.
- dwrecktion, on 03/17/2008, -0/+0Wow, that's the most logical thing I've heard from a fan of a school that barely missed it. Congratulations.
- badqat, on 03/19/2008, -1/+1Louisville FTW!
- cosimoto, on 03/20/2008, -1/+1
Best fake tournament team names: http://www.comedy.com/pages/brackets - quicksilver1023, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0Maybe if you were a dookie that would get you dug down, anyone else I can tolerate ;)
- tenster, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1Davidson is legit bracket buster here. I was so hoping they won't be in our region. KU fan here.
- ThunderKiller7, on 03/18/2008, -1/+0I think that it is crazy that NCAA Experts chose UCLA to win the FINAL FOUR read mine kinda the same
- UNCCEJ1010, on 03/17/2008, -2/+1So i hear.
- candyitself, on 03/18/2008, -1/+0How do i see all the free game taht we're in the ad?
- Punk27, on 03/17/2008, -4/+3Filled out my bracket. I have Georgia, George Mason and Kansas-State to the Sweet 16, with UNC-Kansas-Pitt-UCLA being my final four.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -2/+1Go St. Louis College of Pharmacy!
- bigfin10, on 03/17/2008, -2/+0Arizona is by far the better team. #2 SOS and 4 of thier losses were to #1 seeds.
- ryan899, on 03/17/2008, -7/+5I'm calling it now: KU will lose to Wisconsin. They have a recent history of losing to teams whose nickname starts with 'B'. Bison...Braves...Bruins...and now the Badgers.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -3/+1The entire state of Virginia got snubbed this year. The CAA wrecked some good teams the past two years.
- scoutmasterEd, on 03/17/2008, -2/+0This is anyone tournament! NC seems to have the edge! Pitt will makes some noise after their run through the Big East tourney.
- TheUnlearn, on 03/17/2008, -3/+0VTech was screwed over in the game against Chapel Hill. Some of the calls were absolutely unbelievable. Anytime "Psycho T" touches the ball the refs will call a foul on the defender and if he's defending they call a foul on the offense. it's complete crap.
- idiggsports, on 03/17/2008, -5/+2I created a March Madness bracket group for Diggnation -- http://www.armchairgm.com/Special:SpringSillinessG ...
Password is "kevinrose" (no quotes)
Go Huskies! - chillmandan, on 03/17/2008, -10/+6Obviously as a UNC student I'm biased, however I'm pretty optimistic that we're gonna take the title this year. Tyler and Co. are running on all cylinders.
