- hotjava23, on 05/18/2009, -0/+25You have to hand it to the Celts though for playing with toughness and grit to get as far as they have without KG. Would have been a totally different outcome if KG was playing (much props for the Magic though) and who wouldn't have wanted to see a complete Boston Celtics team facing off against the Cavaliers with Lebron playing like an MVP should be and his teammates matching his play and intensity?
- anklesnap, on 05/18/2009, -6/+30Both Game 7's today weren't really all that close or exciting. At the end of the day it won't really matter who plays the Cavs in Eastern Finals as Lebron should make quick work of these teams.
- KittySpark1es, on 05/18/2009, -1/+21I believe the Magic have 9 or 10 wins in the last 13 times they played the Cavs, so that's something to at least take into consideration.
- dawgshel, on 05/18/2009, -0/+15The magic match up well against the Cavs. I don't see Lebron getting his way in the paint while Dwight Howard is down low. They will slow down lebron but seeing as how the magic have no real identity, it's gonna be a tough series to call.
- teamr, on 05/18/2009, -0/+14As deep as the cavs are, its generally accepted that they would barely (if at all) make the playoffs without lebron. Evidence can be found in statistics where he leads the entire team in points, rebounds and assists.
- morrissey79, on 05/18/2009, -3/+16The Cavs are a solid and deep roster. They are no longer the King James show...with all due respect to the MVP.
- ocharry, on 05/18/2009, -5/+18This is all well and good but they stand no chance against the Cavs. I like the Magic but I'm afraid that losing Jameer Nelson seriously hurts their chances. I just hope they give them a good fight.
- TinfoilHats, on 05/18/2009, -2/+12I can now rest knowing Marbury isn't getting a ring.
- EricaWeasley, on 05/18/2009, -13/+21I was just happy to see the Celtics be PUT IN THE GROUND. That last buzzer was a sweet, sweet sound.
- chamorro, on 05/18/2009, -1/+8Valiant effort by the C's especially playing without their big man KG and Leon Powe.
- hotjava23, on 05/18/2009, -1/+7If the Magic stay consistent and play the way the same way tonight against the Cavs, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to see them advancing to the finals. The Magic are tough to beat when they're making threes and Dwight hustling for the boards down low.
- zzzpoohzzz, on 05/18/2009, -1/+7that long huh? a whole series?
thats a while... - pat0neill, on 05/18/2009, -0/+6dude didnt even play
- jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -3/+9uhhh he's been benched the whole playoffs.....
(which is probably the difference in this series) - arizona01, on 05/18/2009, -0/+5Bruins haven't won a cup in 3 decades.
- bagofbeef, on 05/18/2009, -3/+8Gotta disagree there. He's a fine point guard, and a deserving all-star. But Nelson did not single-handedly change the entire culture of the franchise through sheer force of will.
- sirswatalot9, on 05/18/2009, -1/+6Then why did the Celtics just get booted? The Celtics Cavs was the ECF the NBA wanted but it didn't get. Explain that one.
- hotjava23, on 05/18/2009, -0/+5Penny Hardaway was an exciting player to watch during his best, sad he got a career altering injury. Him and Grant Hill would have made great superstars if they didn't face such bad luck.
- hotjava23, on 05/18/2009, -0/+5The Cavs are in the playoffs? I seem to forget since they just ran through the first two playoff rounds with ease.
- ohhaiitsryan, on 05/18/2009, -1/+6really? the defending champion celtics sans their best player forcing game 7 is overrated?
- dawgshel, on 05/18/2009, -0/+5Tough matchups for cleveland : Lewis, Turkoglu,
Tough matchups for cleveland : James - Pietrus(excellent defender)
and Howard down low, whose gonna grab more boards : Howard, Ilgauskas or Varejao ? - NovaCloud, on 05/18/2009, -0/+5I would what??
I didnt know Boston won the 2008 stanley cup. All those sports sites must be wrong saying the red wings won - EnderSaveUs, on 05/18/2009, -2/+6Looks like digg is pro-Cleveland... but look at the teams Cleveland faced in the play-offs so far. Sure I expect them to make quick work of Orlando, but I think they'd be hard pressed to beat the West. The Nuggets are a very deep team and/or if the Lakers show up and play like they did in the early season (play some defense!) it's going to be a dog fight 'til the end.
I love LeBron for the player & person he is, but I'm not ready to hand him a title w/o a fight. - chuck667, on 05/18/2009, -0/+4Yeah GO SUNS... oh... wait..... *****.
- sirswatalot9, on 05/18/2009, -0/+4Charles and C Webb agree with you java. They said the Magic are the most talented team left. They match up extremely well against the Cavs and this series will be much closer than everyone thinks.
- chuck667, on 05/18/2009, -1/+4I love it how all LA fans assume they're in the Finals, Considering the Nuggs have been powering through everyone, and LA needs 7 games to finish off a severely undermanned Rockets team... I would say LA are far from a sure thing.
I look forward to seeing Billups v LeBron in the final. :) - inactive, on 05/18/2009, -19/+22***** boston
- bagofbeef, on 05/18/2009, -4/+7Jameer Nelson's good. But youre seriously comparing him to Kevin Garnett?
Really? - ScottyAnimal, on 05/18/2009, -6/+9Rondo was only averaging a triple double through most of the playoffs.
You can take that Emu looking Pau Gasol and eat a dick. - sirswatalot9, on 05/18/2009, -0/+3I don't think you understood my comment.
- hotjava23, on 05/18/2009, -0/+3I saw their analysis of the series as well, this is the best possible Eastern conference finals matchup for us fans to enjoy and I hope both teams can deliver something as special as the Bulls/Celtics first round series. On a different note, who in here loves TNT overtime with Charles, Kenny, and Ernie? I look forward to their segment more than the games they're covering most of the time.
- sirswatalot9, on 05/18/2009, -1/+4The Cavs Magic series is going to be a lot closer than you think. The Magic match up against the Cavs very well and have beaten them 8 of the last 11 times they played. That includes 2 beat downs this year with one game being so bad the Magic were up 40. In fact 2 of their 3 worst losses this year were by the Magic.
- ohhaiitsryan, on 05/18/2009, -2/+4except the nuggets are going to beat the lakers.
and if they dont... lebron will ***** on the lakers. not to be confused with the cavs ***** on the lakers... just lebron. - guruboyguru, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3Hey man ***** you I'm from New Hampshire!
...go UNH? - mogglas, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2there goes my $50 combo...
- calcio0fan, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2Thanks for the original analysis
- hotjava23, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2I think what's key for the Cavaliers in this upcoming series is Maurice William's level of play. The Magic are going to focus on defending Lebron and not giving him a clear lane to the basket but if Mo Williams is able to exploit Rafer's defensive deficiencies (he got lucky in the Boston series to guard Rondo who's inconsistent with his jump shot) then it will be a swift series win for the Cavs. For the Magic on the other hand, it will be getting big games from Lewis and Hedo on every game and exploiting their advantages against opposing defenders is key here. Quality bench production from Courtney Lee and Pietrus would be a big plus and could swing the series advantage to the Magic.
- dawgshel, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2Agreed Java but thats a big "IF"
- SirVantes, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2Eh, re-read it...
- SmallBalls, on 05/19/2009, -0/+1thats why they lost
- CtrlAltDan, on 05/18/2009, -2/+3Yeah it doesn't matter who wins as long as the Cavs and Lakers win...wait what?
- TinfoilHats, on 05/18/2009, -2/+3you're wrong.
- Murfshay22, on 05/18/2009, -0/+1hahahaha! Oh how I wish roxgod was telling the truth. Seeing the Bruins win the stanley cup would've been great... too bad it wasn't true.
Also, I'm pretty sure the Revolution haven't won the championship yet. I know they've lost the championship game 4 times in like the last 6 or 7 years. - thetruthis, on 05/21/2009, -0/+1Injuries are part of the game, lets not make excuses. Celtics are done.
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -0/+1uh.. no
- aguywithnobeer, on 05/18/2009, -1/+2MVP Vs. Superman
- agentsrecord, on 05/18/2009, -1/+2***** the Magic. I love the Celts and without Garnett they had little chance.
King James will take care of these ***** like nobodies business. I'm seeing another 4-0. - johndatserakis, on 05/20/2009, -0/+1there is no chanting on digg!
- Fender757, on 05/18/2009, -1/+2 Blue and White Ignite!
