- rwbrinso, on 05/04/2009, -3/+26First of many.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -6/+22No surprise, but how far will he take the Cavs?
- buenit, on 05/04/2009, -2/+17Ha are they really gonna give him a Kia? That'll look pretty bad ass next to his Maybach.......
- ternto333, on 05/04/2009, -1/+13Lebron is a man-beast, well-deserved of the honor
- natemac42, on 05/04/2009, -3/+12ok guys let's stop fusing math symbols with english
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -5/+14This could be trouble for mamba fans. This might just be LBJ's league now.
- ABip13, on 05/04/2009, -2/+10Using your logic, Kobe didn't deserve the MVP last year since the Lakers lost in the finals to the Celtics. The Celtics also stomped the Lakers by 13+ both meetings last year in the regular season.
The West is weak compared to the East and it is starting to show it more as the playoffs go on. The 3 and 4 seeds of the West lost in the 1st round. All the top seeds in the East advanced. The East also had 3 of the 4 best records in the NBA. And all of those wins weren't against the likes of Sacramento, LA Clippers, OK City, Memphis, Minnesota, and Golden State who had 6 of the 7 worst records in the NBA.
LeBron deserves the MVP. The second best player on that team is Mo Williams who begged to get into the all-star game. Kobe has Gasol and Odom to take some pressure off of him. No contest this year. - JCEEZ, on 05/04/2009, -1/+7So you can't like players from other teams?
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -3/+9Yep, he definitely deserves this and will likely get a couple more before all is said and done. Now, it's all about the rings.
- kuyamon, on 05/04/2009, -0/+5Something like, "That's a nice championship ring you got there Mr. James."
- toastybeast, on 05/04/2009, -15/+19LBJ >> Kobe
- iliveincoto, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3Please explain, because you sound exactly like every other hater out there.
If you were a real basketball fan then you would enjoy watching both players. - Janinco, on 05/04/2009, -3/+6Yes...ALL the way!
I live near Denver and my son works for the Nuggets (he did an internship with them last season and this year gets paid...too have fun! lol) - wakeboardertj, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2Kobe put Lebron in his place during the 2 matchups this season. His rainbow over Lebron was absolutely sick. All lebron does is charge at the hoop like a bull and slams them home, who wants to take a charge from Lebron? When he brings finesse into his game and has the swagger and clutch moments like kobe and Jordan do, then you can come talking. Oh yea, and when you get a ring, which will not be this year.
Lakers in 6 - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2he deserved that kia with all his hard work
- ryansmith18, on 05/04/2009, -2/+4Hmm... I had always thought LBJ = Lyndon B Johnson.
But I guess now you're allowed to take two letters from your first name for initials. - BallJoint, on 05/04/2009, -1/+3To all you people complaining about Kobe and LeBron.
I am from Cleveland, and I will be the first to admit that our city isn't great. This is probably the best news involving Cleveland since the Browns came back.
So please, let us just have one. - CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2Are you an idiot BMc?
- CB810, on 05/04/2009, -15/+17Much better that it's King James than Prick Kobe.
- Ne007, on 05/04/2009, -5/+7You mean Kobe the Rapist Prick.
- momomathew, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2Seeing as how the Heat got their ass handed to them last night, they must be one of those sucked less lower bracket teams.
- momomathew, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2Kobe would not have won his without Shaq
Shaq would not have won his without Kobe or Wade
Duncan would not have won his without Robinson or Parker
Jordan would not have won his without Pippen
Who does Lebron have to help? - no one. - CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2Lol, because Nene and KMart are soooo long, right? Lol, Denver and Houston will be lucky to win a combined 4 games against the Lakers...
And I'm a Cavs fan - Janinco, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2I like great games and hope to have a great series!
Good luck! - Phatern, on 05/04/2009, -2/+3Eh he didn't rape her. She settled out of court for, you guessed it $$$$$. Oh he had sex with her, but that ***** was consensual. If you ever paid attention that bitch was all about the money. She had sex with the main eyewitness who claimed he saw her come out of the room looking all upset. His, and two other people's semen were on her panties. She couldn't go through the actual legal proceedings, until she was getting money in a civil suit so stfu.
- CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1iliveincoto: Outside of the playoff teams, the WC is utter garbage. The reason the West is 'stacked' is because they have so many punching bags.
Memphis, OKC, Sacramento, Clippers, Minnesota, Golden State....
There are 6 teams out West that finished with under 30 wins... only one in the East.
East also won more games against the West. - iliveincoto, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1@momomathew - Lebron hasn't won a ring yet, so your argument is invalid.
I find it funny that people talk as if Lebron makes up the entire Cavs team. You are a fool to think the Cavs have no one but Lebron. You forgot that Mo Williams is an ALLSTAR. What exactly would the Cavs do without Ilgauskas, their 7'3" big man who can also shoot?
By your logic, the Cavs will lose this year. Basketball is a TEAM sport, and there is no time when this is more true than the playoffs, just ask DWade. - CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1I'm sure he can't wait to play on a team with Laura Hughes again!
- CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1Same with Lebron last year, had better stats than Kobe and CP3 but Cavs only won 45
- Rahaz, on 05/06/2009, -0/+1Kobe is a great facilitator. His game is about more than stats. He can easily take over and make a 30+ point game whenever he wants but he can also play a game where he just eases up and lets the hot player take the lead.
Lebron is still having to carry the team and his play style shows it. He can't beat out Kobe just yet. In a few years once Kobe is on the decline and Lebron starts to peak he'll be the clear choice but for now its all Kobe. - magnum2544, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1And his team is still in the playoffs. Wait...oops.
No disrespect to D-Wade, WAY more deserving than Kobe Bryant. - jankind, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1I hate the Lakers but after the clowning and dancing this season, I hate the Cavs way more.
David Stern will have his dream match up... Go Lakers. - iliveincoto, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1Wade didn't get it for the same reason they gave it to Nash instead of Kobe a few years back. You need a better record to get the MVP.
- DrVic, on 05/04/2009, -1/+2ROFL!
- CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1Haha, I just looked at the OP not the response... "All I have to say is "Go Nuggets"!"
Bury me BMc! - wakeboardertj, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1seriously, the media has lebrons dick so far in their mouth its ridiculous. OMG LEBRON SLAMMED DUNKED, WITH NO ONE ON HIM! OMGZ . So tired of seeing mediocre dunks by Lebron on every news site after every Cavs game
- mastercosby, on 05/04/2009, -1/+2There are only two that I can think of that did it single-handedly, DWade and CP3. The other teams weren't carried by a single player the whole season, they either had a balanced team skill-wise, or in the case of the eastern conference, the lower bracket teams sucked less than the ones that didn't get in. Do you watch the NBA?
- mastercosby, on 05/04/2009, -1/+2Did you by chance watch any of the lakers vs cavs games this season? Kobe certainly proved that he is still he best player in the NBA.
- CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1God, when are people going to realize how the MVP has been given out for the last 349867 years?
If it were simply the player with the best overall stats, Lebron would have won it for the past three years and Kobe for like 5 before that.
It's best player on best team. DWade had 0% chance of winning the MVP. - CFFL23, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1LeB-OMGHADABETTERFG%THANKOBE
- morgino, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1As a Laker fan I am ok with this, close but I get it
- magnum2544, on 05/04/2009, -4/+5Anyone who disagrees with Lebron winning the MVP has little-to-no basketball knowledge at all. I don't even have to be biased being that I am from the Akron area. This thing was a no brainer from game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals last year. Kobe saw his last. This is Lebron's league now and for years to come.
Oh and for all you "compare Kobe's career to Lebron's from a championship standpoint"ers, This is Lebron's 6th year in the league, and Kobe's 13th. Give the King some time. Besides, Kobe didn't win anything without Shaq, and Shaq then moved on to Miami to win another with D-Wade. Lebron is doing it with a less-than-dominating (but still one of the top 5 point guards) player in Mo Williams and other role players. When he re-signs with the Cavs this summer (yes, he is staying, if you don't believe me then watch his interviews on NBA.com or ESPN.com when he mentions "I've been here for 24 years, what's 5 more gonna hurt?") after winning his first, he will be well on his way to more.
Go Cavs!
(^Don't tell me I lost credibility for adding that) - xxmjumpman23xx, on 05/04/2009, -1/+2Also a laker fan, I don't care about regular season MVP anymore. Lebron deserved it this year. Kobe needs to win Finals MVP this year.
- Janinco, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1BMcClure937,
No actually I just made a mistake...I was going to say, he is having too much fun to get paid...but shortened it.
Sorry...I'm impressed some one caught it. - ABip13, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1LeBron had even more absurd stats than Wade. 1st in points, 5th in rebounds, 4th in assists. And his team had the best record. Props to Wade though, he had a great year. But this year belonged to LeBron.
- Phatern, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1Come back when LeBron can take over a game like Kobe can. Just look at the stats for game 4 against the Jazz. If the Lakers as a team play decent and you piss Kobe off, it's a done deal.
- pixelate, on 05/04/2009, -1/+2Not with a 1.29 assist to turnover ratio in the playoffs, he won't. (compare to 5.00 for LeBron, 5.40 for Rondo)
