- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14LeBron may have made 23 points but the team as a whole beat china by 46 points, and that's huge.
- illegalchuck, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Do you remember 2004?
- movienut, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11USA USA USA
- frogpelt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9What does where the sport was invented have to do with it? Golf was invented in the UK, yet Americans are by far the best.
- bobbyddog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think this will be the turning point for the US internation effort. Kudos to coach K. he is the man!!!!!!!!
- poonannie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3While both are very talented players, you always have to take into account how many calls they get going their way in the NBA simply because they are stars. NBA ball is alot different than international play but this team is good and its going to be more players than those two winning the games.
- Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yao's parents play(ed?) professional basketball in china. They were huge as well
- scoot87, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5damn, lebron with 23 points? USA beating China? I am Shocked!
- Egotrippin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Danm talk about a Spoiler. I was planning to watch the game tonight haha.
All I know is the World better prepare for some ownage by USA. - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4He didn't play for China because he's hurt
- KevinJ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I wish people could identify me by only my first name
- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2As much as I detest Duke, I must agree. He's a great coach, wonder if he'll ever make it to the NBA after that huge contract he signed.
Hell, for the money he gets paid and the athmosphere there (they basically worship him, I hear) I'd coach college forever too. - Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Anyone know if the NBA players are going to be representing the USA in the 2007 pan american games in Brazil? I'll be in brazil, and I'd like to check out a game or two.
- VMark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Two things are different from 2004: Wade and James. Both are now clearly the two best players in the world. Their athleticism makes this team look like the original Dream Team, where Jordan and Barkley basically dunked on everyone. I don't think we'll see a loss to Carlos Arroyo and Puerto Rico anytime soon like we did two years ago.
- djchester, on 08/10/2008, -0/+1If you don't watch it live, don't go online until you watched it!
- frogpelt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Lebron only had 22 by the way.
- xpaladin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Makes sense if you think about it. "James" is fairly generic, and it also sounds like a first name.
Plus "LeBron" has more "face pwnage" value, IMO. - merdiesel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I wish people could identify me by only my first name"
Score +6,000 career points at age 21... - EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2umm, mrhan, your information is incorrect, Basketball is a Canadian game, with a Canadian inventor, James Naismith, look it up, get your dam facts straight!
- canewediggit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3next time, can we hide the result in the headline? us winning isn't a suprise, but i wanted to watch without knowing. a spoiler warning? something? when we do lose a game, i want to find out from watching. not from digg
- merdiesel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Do you remember 2004?"
Wade, LeBron, and Mello were all coming off of their rookie seasons... This was a team that was not put together well at all.
I dont care where your from, you have to be an idiot to think that anyone is beating USA this time around. The have stomped the ***** out of China and Puerto Rico by atleast 40, my perdiction is that next week Korea is getting beat by 60 and USA will break the all time points record. - Pash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm a big fan of Lebron and D-Wade. I hope they do live up to expectations in the upcoming tournaments.
- Doubledown, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3yeah... that 7+foot Chinese basketball players sucks... you know the one from Garmond GPS commercials
- EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Does this surprise anyone?
- kirashira, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0in the article it says " China didn't even have its best players.
Besides Yao, NBA veteran Wang Zhizhi sat out with a torn ligament in his right knee. The other Chinese players struggled against the physically superior Americans. Yi Jianlian, a 6-foot-10 center considered China's next NBA prospect, had 14 points, while Du Feng led the scoring for China with 18. "
Not saying even if they had Yao they would win but im sure the score would be a lot more respectable -_- - sinfree, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Never let the facts get in the way of a good story ;).
- cantabro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Spain 96- China 49, and that was the last week. China is not a rival.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2soccer wasn't invented here - therefore we suck ass. (just trying to push the theory further)
- mrhahn, on 10/12/2007, -17/+6This just in: Americans do well at a sport they invented. Movie at 11.
- festriaqua, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2idk if thats something to brag about......since china sux at b-ball, its like playing with a 2 year old
