LeBron James shuts up cocky DeShawn Stevenson watch!
youtube.com — Initially down nineteen points, DeShawn Stevenson blows on his hand as if it's on-fire after burying a three-pointer on LeBron James. But this just adds fuel to the proverbial fire between Stevenson and the L-Train, as James promptly knocks down a three in Stevenson's grill.

- ethanator1088, on 04/22/2008, -22/+7THE STUPIDNESS has got to STOP! Quit messing around with LeBron James. He is the man. Do not taunt him. Do not say he is overrated.... Just work harder than him and soar further than him! This is going on the blog no doubt.
- theblueprint, on 04/22/2008, -0/+9As a lifelong Cleveland fan, I sincerely hope the Wizards keep up the trash-talk.

- BinaryDelt, on 04/22/2008, -2/+3Whoa...lay off the coke. I wasn't saying he said LeBron wasn't special. I was making a reference to a game where LeBron was inhuman and did what we just saw almost every trip down the court. It doesn't always take a slam dunk to shut someone up. - dreesemonkey, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Yes, that series really 'made' Lebron in many ways. Watching players like him and Kobe completely take over a game and carry the team on their shoulders is really a sight to see. As we go on, the reality of these guys having a place as some of the all-time greats is really secured. It's amazing the high level Kobe has played at for many years, and how Lebron has many years ahead of him, yet. I don't follow basketball all that much but those guys are a treat to watch when they're on their game.

- SuminderJi, on 04/22/2008, -10/+3Yep like the time when he played Toronto and Bosh's GF taunted him and he turned it on.
...what I didn't understand, if hes such a compeitor and able to do such, why does he need to be taunted and then show up people in the stands to "turn it on"
This is why
Kobe
Nash
A.I.
>>
LeBron
They got skill, and from what I see, never take a play off. Never need to "turn it on" because he got taunted by fans! Fans for god sakes!- krets, on 04/22/2008, -1/+6You do realize that LeBron averaged more points, rebounds and assists than any of those guys don't you? (Except for assists, Nash beat him there.)
- akademiks, on 04/22/2008, -1/+0You do realize that statistics has never shown who's the better/best player?
And just for the sake of argument, Lebron also takes the most FGA per game, has the highest percentage of his team's posessions and has his offense completely designed around him. None of the above can claim the same.
Only Kobe and KG are >> Lebron though.- krets, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1You don't think the Laker's offense is geared towards getting Kobe lots of touches?
- SuminderJi, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1I didn't mention stats once, nor do I care about stats. I know hes a great player. I was jumping out of my seat last year against Detroit.
The point is, don't decide to turn it on because of some fan heckling, regardless of a players GF or not. The point is, play hard. Play competitive.
I'm from Toronto, I know alllllllll about a player with all the talent in the world, and half the heart in the world. So LeBrons nature doesn't suit me well, sue me - or digg me down.
- akademiks, on 04/22/2008, -1/+0You do realize that statistics has never shown who's the better/best player?
- tatinthehat, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2I hope you also realize, that LeBron has been mostly carrying the Cavs this year, which is a feat itself.
And you're also telling me if you got taunted while playing an intense game of (insert game here) you wouldn't try to turn it on either?- SuminderJi, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1It was part of an uncharacteristically cold third quarter for James. The NBA's leading scorer was 2-for-9 in the quarter while shooting at the basket from near the Raptors' bench and Bosh's girlfriend's seat.
But that changed quickly. Shooting on the same basket, James hit eight of his 10 field-goal attempts in the fourth quarter, including four of five three-point shots, as well as assisting on three more three-pointers as the Cavaliers stormed back.
Late in the game, James had the last word, as the cameras caught him approaching the corner where Bosh's friends and family were sitting and saying, "It's your fault, it's your fault."

- jakeoooh, on 04/22/2008, -2/+6I was hoping for a dunk too, but whatever, LBJ is still the man. It's just laughable that someone like Deshawn Stevenson would talk about Lebron being overrated- They said on TNT last night that he's averaged something like 32 ppg, 7.6 RPG, 7.3 APG, in the playoffs against the Wizards. For his career... It's like Rory Sabatini or Sergio Garcia talking ***** about Tiger Woods in golf- except that they don't have to worry about Tiger hitting them with his driver.
After game 1, Lebron said "I'm not 6-9, 260 pounds to shoot jump shots. I go to the hole and create contact. Don't ever think that I'm the only one feeling contact." I mean if you're 6'5," 215lbs, does it really make sense to taunt Lebron? I guess that the Wizards strategy has been reduced to stunts like Brendan Haywood's sucker punch foul when the Lebron's already in the air- eckh. People need to let their game talk instead of crap like that. - gthyb, on 04/22/2008, -7/+2Too many French NBA players.

- J3553, on 04/22/2008, -6/+1i just wish people would stop comparing labron james to michael jordan. labron is a great player, but he is NOT michael jordan. there isn't a player of that caliber in the game today, and there may never be one ever again. yet labron and kobe continue to get compared to MJ, and in that sense, they are both overrated.
- DeQuinceysDiet, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2No one really compares LeBron to Jordan. No one who is taken seriously. But LeBron is already having a brilliant career, he's only 23, already has 1 scoring title, and has taken 1 crappy team to the NBA finals.
However at 23, Jordan scored 37 points per game, the 3rd highest total ever... And most importantly of course, he eventually led his team to six titles. Until LeBron gets in that neighborhood, no one is really going to compare him to MJ. - hoovcluck, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Robert Horry has 7 rings, how many does Michael have?
- DeQuinceysDiet, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1I'm sure that anyone who even knows who Robert Horry is knows the answer to that question. Which is six, of course.
If you're implication is that that one extra ring somehow makes Horry a greater player than Jordan, then you are basketball stupid.
How many times was Horry named MVP of the NBA finals? Zero. How many all-star games has Horry been selected for? Zero. How many times was Horry named first-team all NBA? Zero. How many times did Horry lead the league in scoring? Zero.
Answering the same questions for Jordan gives these answers - 6, 14, 10, 10.

- centerblack, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1I'm just sick of all the amateur stuff. You know? I mean, like, if I'm paying top dollar, I want a little production value. You know? Like some editing, transition, something. Some music.
- danceparty, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1why did i bother watching that clip...and why do i bother commenting. I wish Digg was still at least mostly about tech stuff. Keep this NBA garbage off the site please!
- kansai22, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1I fail to be impressed. If that was Kobe not only would he have repeated but would have 1 upped him.
- ryantaylor16, on 04/22/2008, -0/+0The truth is DeShawn Stevenson will not, has not, and cannot improve ratings for the NBA. Both coasts and middle america will root for someone like Lebron and all the while forgetting DeShawn. BTW, the Celtics will go the way of the Pats, sad but true.
- aidtcp33, on 04/22/2008, -1/+0Cleveland did what they were suppose to do. The series is not over. That being said, I think Lebron James has proven that he's anything but overrated. However, you have to respect Deshaun Stevenson for going after him like that, and then guarding him throughout the game. It may have been stupid, but I think it does show heart.
- SpikeLee, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2DeShawn Stevenson got owned by the scoreboard.
- janed0e, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0lebrons shot wasn't even open
