Oh, and not great shock, but it was just announced that Kobe won Finals MVP. - DonCurryOnly, on 06/15/2009, -3/+98Adam Morrison has a NBA ring. We're all *****!!
- ethanator1088, on 06/15/2009, -14/+99Congrats Kobe/ Lakers. Kobe is not MJ. Now Kobe is just Kobe. 4 rings and 1 without Shaq.
- Foot56, on 06/15/2009, -4/+83I think this puts Phil Jackson on the plateau of one of the greatest coaches in the NBA, if not the best.
- DevSingh1359, on 06/15/2009, -10/+77Thanks for an amazing season this year Magic...it was fun while it lasted.
Congrats to Kobe and the Lakers - 2Pharcyded, on 06/15/2009, -4/+57odom and ariza really stepped it up tonight.
excellent performance. im just suprised magic didnt make it more of a fight.
guess they were snake bit - Misinformant, on 06/15/2009, -12/+61WHAT MAKES KOBE BRYANT'S UNSTOPPABLENESS SO UNSTOPPABLE?
- woofers07, on 06/15/2009, -0/+44And he got one while wearing jeans and a sports coat... and looking creepy.
- 2Pharcyded, on 06/15/2009, -0/+41kobe has always been kobe.
- motang, on 06/15/2009, -12/+5315th title, Jackson made NBA history, Kobe and Fisher got their 4th ring, and all without Shaq!
- efreeman, on 06/15/2009, -7/+44Great win for the Lakers, even if the game itself was a bit anticlimactic.
- skilsbee, on 06/15/2009, -3/+34at least j.j reddick didnt get one...
- ethanator1088, on 06/15/2009, -7/+36Shaq is AWESOME!
- ColdChillin, on 06/15/2009, -5/+32Lets go Knicks! Another 10 years of mediocrity ahead!
- Sfenton, on 06/15/2009, -3/+29I think it could be argued that he is one of the greatest coaches of all professional sports.
- nicktomyskins, on 06/15/2009, -0/+26I wish he cried in the middle of the court
- JobinM, on 06/15/2009, -4/+29Kobe Bryant finally gets his first ring without Shaq as the Magic coast past the Lakers to win the NBA Finals, 4-1.
Uh, Lakers coast past Magic.
Fixed. - mrogi, on 06/15/2009, -11/+34Michael Jordan won his first NBA title at age 29. Kobe is 30 and he just won his 4th title. Kobe might win more championships than MJ; it's possible.
- NotAChickenHawk, on 06/15/2009, -1/+22A great story that the NBA and ABC would love, but not much of a real story unless Shaq takes a swim in the Fountain of Youth this summer.
- xxmjumpman23xx, on 06/15/2009, -3/+24I'm a huge Kobe fan. But Kobe has already played many more games than Jordan. Jordan went to three years of college. Kobe has a lot of miles and his prime will end earlier.
- FirstCuts, on 06/15/2009, -1/+21And before anyone else calls me on it, yes, I e-mailed Digg support to correct my typo in my description where I inverted the teams in the description.
- DaBrownGuy13, on 06/15/2009, -1/+21I agree, great season for the Magic! They overcame a ton of challenges, criticism, and discouragements from 'experts'. Great job receiving the Eastern Conference title after nearly 14 years! I'm proud of the Magic. See you guys back next season!!!
GO MAGIC!!! - arunforce, on 06/15/2009, -1/+20I will not accept anything short of a "Tell me how my ass tastes (Shaq)" freestyle/rap from Kobe.
- jeffmon, on 06/15/2009, -0/+18As soon as the game was over I checked Twitter to see what Shaq said. He never ceases to amuse me.
- Moxymo69, on 06/15/2009, -10/+26THIS JUST IN- the cavs are in talks to trade for shaq. Lebron and shaq vs kobe and co. could be great TV
- xprohx, on 06/15/2009, -1/+16Hell yeah! And he/they did it without Kazaam!
- FirstCuts, on 06/15/2009, -0/+15Gotta disagree, pop. There's actually very little to back up your wild conspiracy theories that the NBA will not allow a small-market team to win a title. You should read this: http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/david_aldrid ...
- Slugo, on 06/15/2009, -4/+19And the riots begin ...watch live @ http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/livenow?id=6864957
- inactive, on 06/15/2009, -0/+13Lakers played a hell of a series, and my hat goes off to them. My only question is what the hell happened to the Magic who stomped the Cavs? This current Magic team made so many rookie mistakes, couldn't hit the big shots, mostly got out played and out hustled, and overall were just manhandled....Oh well at least 3 of the 5 games were great.
- antdude, on 06/15/2009, -2/+15I want another Lakers vs. Celtics rematch.
- richmondphotog, on 06/15/2009, -2/+14One move got the Lakers a championship. It was acquiring Pau Gasol. Didn't work last year, but he helped get them to the finals and in position to win it this year. The team changed when he got there.
- aircanada1523, on 06/15/2009, -0/+12http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjCJurCB4XU
- neilk85, on 06/15/2009, -1/+12auerbach won all those titles when there were ONLY 8 teams in the entire league. Yea i'm pretty sure your chances of winning titles goes up up when you have only 7 team to compete against rather than 29
- chuck667, on 06/15/2009, -0/+11Yeah, but still no ring without Fisher.... :P
- numeka, on 06/15/2009, -1/+12Magic are definitely a force to be reckoned with next season.
- fsufanizzle, on 06/15/2009, -0/+11I concur, the future looks bright for the Magic. When Dwight gets an offensive game he will be unstoppable. He's still young so it will come with time....
- airstrike, on 06/15/2009, -2/+1390% of these comments suck.
- alacrity2005, on 06/15/2009, -2/+13You can be a sore loser whiner all you want, but that elbow didn't cost the Magic the game. Not guarding Fisher, missing 15 ***** free throws, bad coaching and having two star players not show up at all cost them that game.
Not to mention being NOT AS GOOD A TEAM. - RoloTomasie, on 06/15/2009, -0/+10Kobe!
-Dave Chappelle - PxCxG, on 06/15/2009, -14/+24No reason not to expect to see the lakers back in the finals next year!
- sleeknerve, on 06/15/2009, -0/+10wow, let it go, if you lost, than you are the worse team, whether you like it or not. Be like the rest of us and wait till next year.
- praisethelard, on 06/15/2009, -1/+11Uh..Magic were coasting past Lakers in the loser direction.
- rpark, on 06/15/2009, -0/+10I think every Laker fan wants this.
- RC18, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9really? i didnt see u running the triangle offense with the team
- NotAChickenHawk, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9Ron Jeremy got out-coached, and the Lakers contained Howard for the most part.
- treas, on 06/15/2009, -1/+10firstly, that did not cost them the game as the lakers won by more than 3. Second, there were plenty of uncalled fouls against both teams, and glancing fouls called on both teams. The refereeing was inconsistent game to game about what was a foul, but not between the teams.
- alacrity2005, on 06/15/2009, -1/+10Yeah... Red was a true coach, he didn't have great players like BILL RUSSELL, Cousy, Havlicek, Jones, Cowens, White, etc, etc... *****. What a retarded, know nothing statement. Idiot.
- WaSSaBi, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9and if the Cavs win, we can start the "Lebron never won anything without Shaq"
- getatmedigg, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9LeBron is pretty damn good but he needs help. He needs shooters like Oralndo has.Mike Brown is doing a good job but I'd be surprised he's around another season. Maybe Lebron will go too.
- jobobshishkabob, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9The competition in Auerbach's era was no where near as tough as it has been for Jackson's career. That's not to say he wasn't a great coach. And Auerbach had Bill Russell, one of the best big men ever, and plenty of others around him to make a good team, so you can't discount Jackson's greatness just because he had good players. You have to know how to coach even if you have great players.
