    • pintomp3, on 04/08/2008, -1/+15i agree. my bracket was busted by kansas but i jumped out of my seat when chalmers hit that 3. both teams brought lots of speed and athleticism , great scoring runs, amazing defense and offense, and just made for a very exciting game.
      • Cerebral, on 04/08/2008, -10/+1I watched the game and this is what I still don't understand about college sports... both teams sucked ass and played very poorly which is usually what happens in not only college sports (basketball and football mostly) but in big college sports matchups. Aside from a few prayer shots from a couple of players the majority of the game was bricking shots, bad passes and sloppy gameplay.
        Kansas was beating Memphis badly down low and for some reason they stopped doing that. For Memphis, well you have Rose who looked like he didn't want to lead yet at the same time they kept giving him the ball when CDR was having an amazing night. It actually made me laugh a little when Kansas went to the 4 box 1 defense simply because Kansas was playing the defense for what the Memphis offense SHOULD have been doing.
        It was no surprise that Kansas was going to win in OT once they went back to the gameplay that put them in the lead in the first place considering Memphis had lost their big man to a horrible foul (mentally not horrible as in bad call).

I'm sorry for their loss, but they deserved it. I still think that Derick Rose's shot should have been counted for a three just for being so badass.

    • pintomp3, on 04/08/2008, -0/+5he started to show some arrogance when he began dismissing the free throw issue. anyone can sink free throws when there is no pressure, but in close game situations your practice and technique will help you overcome the pressure. not many teams have been able to put memphis in a close game situation, but when they did memphis folded at the free throw line.

Our whole neighborhood just off Iowa St. was outside screaming... then heading down to Mass Street and partying with everybody here in Lawrence is something I'll never forget.

Even though Kansas and the rest of NCAA basketball hates us, we still pulled for Kansas because of our connections. Why do so many people hate us? It's sad. I'm still pissed that Roy didn't call a timeout until we were 26 points down. Hell of a game Kansas. You deserved it.
    • pintomp3, on 04/08/2008, -0/+4there is a lot hate towards power conferences like acc and big east in general, but unc and duke garner a special hatred because of the attention they receive. much of it unc deserves, but duke has been so overrated the past few years it's turning people against tobacco road in general. hopefully some of that duke myth is starting to erode, though i'm sure duke vitale will continue to remind us about how good j.j. reddick was.
