- Bukowsky, on 04/19/2008, -1/+34FINALLY!!!!
- kenvsryu, on 04/19/2008, -3/+25This is the best news of the year. The guy george bushed the knicks.
- ennTOXX, on 04/19/2008, -0/+21I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner... :||
- Vulphaestion, on 04/19/2008, -0/+18..."said he will remain with the team, but will have no title and no direct reports."
So he's a fan, then? - armynixon, on 04/19/2008, -0/+12As someone who is not a fan of the Knicks, this is terrible, awful news. Now my team (the Raptors) and every other team doesn't have a place to dump their incompetent contracts. I am confident that every other GM cried when they heard this.
- mecharabbit, on 04/19/2008, -1/+13Let's all close our eyes and pretend like Isaiah's only involvement in NBA basketball was as a hall of fame point guard for the Pistons. There we go...bad memories repressed.
- Javoo80123, on 04/19/2008, -0/+10Who's a bigger idiot- Isaiah or the losers who keep hiring him? Everything this guy touches turns to crap.
- inactive, on 04/19/2008, -0/+9This is the right move by Donnie Walsh. There's no excusing a coach who cost the franchise nearly $200M and was 50-games under .500 as a coach in less than two years.
- kevinwiz, on 04/19/2008, -2/+10Probably the only person with a lower job approval rating than the president.
- inactive, on 04/19/2008, -0/+6they are too late
- threemagic, on 04/19/2008, -0/+6Except the basketball itself... but that seems like forever ago now.
- Cattywampus, on 04/19/2008, -0/+4And he was terrible as team president, even before he named himself coach. Not to mention that embarrassing sexual harassment suit Thomas brought upon the team.
- MikeinLoFi, on 04/19/2008, -0/+4He's going to remain as an 'advisor' for the organization. An advisor making 18 million. He has cost the Knicks organization so much money with bad trades, signs and his own personal scandals it's ridiculous. I really think they should cut off all ties to this cancer of a GM and head coach. Bring on Marc Jackson!
- retr0grade, on 04/19/2008, -0/+4oh well. What is Zeke gonna do now? He and Dennis Rodman and Joe Dumars and Bill Lambier and whoever that fifth guy was should do a reunion tour.
- flair1, on 04/19/2008, -2/+6knicks,
please hire michael jordan. he's ruined the wizards and bobcats and the knicks need another dumbass to continue the misery. - TheGooseyOne, on 04/19/2008, -1/+5Actually, no, its Isiah Thomas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isiah_Thomas - oldcyborg, on 04/19/2008, -0/+3I loved Thomas as a Player, but he is obviously a miserable coach, and should have dismissed at the beggining of the year. Almost no one has lasted as long as he has, with such a miserable record.. And no real plan to change things......
I hope he can find a reasonable position where Charisma doesn't count. Cause he ain't got it....
Cyborg - theillest1, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4About got damn time
- bicyclethief, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Isaiah had possibility the worst judgment in players as a GM I've ever seen. Say what you will about Tim Duncan but he brings an air of discipline, hard work, and a competitive drive to win for the Spurs-- it's one of the reasons they vy for titles year in and year out. The Knicks, on the other hand, are the dream team of players of the opposite type. In defense of Isaiah's coaching ability, nobody can win with that.
- funknjunk, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Same for the bulls too :)
- AlwaysDiggsDown, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2FIRE ISIAH!!!!
- michaelvlin, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Isiah is an embarrassment that will not go away. Walsh is keeping him on as a $18M advisor. I am sure the Knicks could have cut their losses long ago when the sexual harassment verdict was handed down.
- inactive, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2it should have happened TWO YEARS AGO!
- threemagic, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Bill and Joe are busy being WINNERS in Detroit (Shock and Pistons respectively)
- FrothyA, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2So I guess it really does pay to sexually harass after all. Unbelievable, but given today's developments allowing midwest good ole boy carpetbaggers to heist the Seattle SuperSonics, a team with a long history and tradition away to another city like they tried to do to New Orleans. I'm not surprised that only two NBA owners saw what was going on and had the integrity to vote no.
http://digg.com/basketball/David_Stern_s_Homophobi ... - broohaha, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Care to comment on how he managed to run the CBA to the ground in one year?
- cwalk, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2I lost respect for Isiah when he hand picked Marcus Camby over:
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Stephon Marbury
Ray Allen
Antoine Walker
Kobe Bryant
Predrag Stojaković
Steve Nash
Jermaine O'Neal
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
in the 1996 NBA Draft. - Fixhotep, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2strictly as a coach... who knows. but he is one of the worst as far as evaluating talent and assembling a team. i mean my god... the contracts he took....
- pch0mey, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Lakers vs Celtics anyone? XD
- Depthfunction, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Our long national nightmare is over.
- Flagg3, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Now if we could somehow remove Charles Dolan, I could go back to being a Knicks fan...
- inactive, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2This is a mistake. They should give him a title...Night Janitor at Madison Square Garden. Tell him, "you take this job, and continue to collect the $5 million a year we owe you, or you quit, and we don't owe you anything."
Or maybe he can be a cable repairman for Cablevision. - Stowz, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2It should have happened when the whole sexual abuse scandal occurred. Its sad to see that the Knicks franchise cares more about the win loss ration than merit.
- harrison5394, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Next time you wanna get dugg up, you have to remember to include the atheist god.
- bowe, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2So he has no influence whatsoever, over coaching or transactions? Nooo, who's going to take all of the overpaid players that nobody wants now?
- sfcaptainrob, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2no, mark aguirre.
- bullox, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Vinny "the microwave" Johnson
- Kireblade, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2One of the greatest players ever. One of the worst coaches ever.
- bullox, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Jon Salley
- BobScratchit, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1First time I've ever heard a President's name used as a verb.
/Golf Clap - Idolatry, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1He won't care since he already has his extension and will be paid millions to be bought out.. Nevertheless, good riddance.
- thebuggman, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1So how can I get demoted by my replacement and STILL have a high paying job with NO responsibilities????
Sign me up IMMEDIATELY.
Thank you. - shwizle, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1As someone who GOT ARRESTED for selling 'fire Isiah' Shirts outside of MSG, I am truly happy!!!
- Swarms, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Frank Caliendo isn't funny.
- titi232, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1What was that Sh!t in the article about how Isiah didn't want to coach to the Knicks it was thrust upon him when the higher ups got rid of Larry Brown??????
Wasn't he one of the higher ups (team president) at that time?
And even if he wasn't wouldn't the team had hired a new coach before forcing him into to position?
I wonder how much he paid the writer to add that part in. - BHRecon, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1I wonder if they removed him after he got back from Red Lobster.
- inactive, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Nobody...they are letting them run out to get under the cap for 2010 when Lebron James and Dwayne Wade become free agents.
- nobleexperiment, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1I hear Zeke's new job is mopping the floor at that porno place on 42nd street.
