- metalkills, on 03/05/2008, -1/+12That would be holding... definitely not how you would want to play defense....

- slvrbullet87, on 03/05/2008, -0/+5fine... way to get choked black dude!!!
- sny1120, on 03/05/2008, -0/+5He went to Raja Bell's school of defense.
Kyle Korver take note. - kevinduckworth, on 03/05/2008, -0/+4Apparently Jones is feeling some resentment towards his former team, or it was just piggy-back-a-shaq time.
- blackinthmiddle, on 03/05/2008, -1/+5You couldn't be more clueless. Jordan *averaged* 50% shooting for his career. Kobe? He's yet to have ONE 50% shooting season. Jordan had seven straight scoring titles. Kobe? One. Jordan: Six MVPs. Kobe? 0 (although he'll probably get it this year). Jordan: defensive player of the year. Kobe? Never. Jordan: 6 Finals MVPs. Kobe: Yeah, that was Shaq winning all of those. Jordan lead the league in steals one year. Kobe: you get the picture.
Olympic gold (twice), scoring championships, defensive player of the year honors...Jordan had it over Kobe in EVERY area. AND, Jordan played the majority of his career when hand-checking was allowed. Guys like Iverson and Tony Parker wouldn't be nearly as affective 15 years ago. So...what criteria are you using exactly to say Kobe's better than Jordan?
That was Kobe's team who was up 3-1 against the Suns and losing. That was Kobe in game 7 taking only three shots after halftime (many players, past and present called him out on that). I don't care if you score 81 in January against the Raptors. If your team is down in game seven, do you show up? It's more important than any other stat. When the pressure is at it's greatest, how do you perform? Jordan has an entire book in this area. Kobe hasn't even written chapter one yet. - ServAce85, on 03/05/2008, -2/+6finally an accurate title on digg
- ishwarchand, on 03/05/2008, -1/+5First Zidane shows how to head butt and now how to play defense. Learn something Ashton Kutcher
- gbarberi, on 03/05/2008, -0/+4He probably does. You seem to have a substantial fan base here on Digg. Either that, or sillyk is a stalker. :P
You seem to attract a slew of retarded replies under your comments as well. - swimmer88, on 03/05/2008, -1/+5monster jam...he's on fire!
- docCdav, on 03/05/2008, -4/+7***** buries. Go adamchristopher.
- saxreturns, on 03/05/2008, -0/+3No, he haidalangara. You not recognise own mother when see?
- tcsucks, on 03/05/2008, -0/+3Goodness, STEVE BLAKE! Go Blazers!
- FFIO, on 03/05/2008, -0/+3RIP CITY!
- RAT-Man, on 03/05/2008, -0/+3Screaming A Smith was right. Dampier showed up for 1 game against the Lakers and proceeded to disappear against Utah the next night.
- BigManOnCampus, on 03/05/2008, -0/+3"Jordan *averaged* 50% shooting for his career. Kobe? He's yet to have ONE 50% shooting season. "
Because he was allowed to use his hands against his defenders (and they were allowed handchecking) so most of his points had to come in the paint. Jordan had to rely on getting to the rim because if your defender can have a hand on your body, he can affect your shot before you even try one.
Kobe has a better jump shot. Jordan had a good jumper, and one that was difficult to defend. Jordan did not make impossible jumpers look routine like Kobe does. Kobe's average is worse because he rely's on a jumper more than Jordan did, end of discussion.
"Jordan had seven straight scoring titles. Kobe? One."
Wrong, Kobe = 2. Also, Jordan wasn't competing against so many excellent scorers, like AI, LeBron, etc.. for that title.
"Jordan: Six MVPs. Kobe? 0 (although he'll probably get it this year)."
Wrong, Jordan = 5, Kobe = 2 robbed from him + 1 this year (Steve Nash? Are you kidding me? He cannot play defense, neither can Nowitski. The press core should be ashamed of voting in Nash and Nowitski the last few years. Kobe has nearly been defensive player of the year each year during that span, and been a league scoring leader. )
"Jordan: defensive player of the year. Kobe? Never."
Not that Kobe never deserved it.
"Jordan: 6 Finals MVPs. Kobe: Yeah, that was Shaq winning all of those."
Jordan would not have won as many finals MVP's either had he been playing with Shaq.
"Jordan lead the league in steals one year. Kobe: you get the picture."
Different era... handchecking. Please understand this. In Jordan's era you were allowed to manhandle the man with the ball in comparison to this era where you cannot. This meant that it was easier for Jordan to get steals. Kobe stops whoever he wants to in an era where individual scoring is easier as the advantage is with the person who has the ball. You can't say one or the other was better in this department. It's a wash because of the different eras.
"Jordan had it over Kobe in EVERY area."
Especially in the area of skilled teammates. You're forgetting just how poor the talent around Kobe has been since Shaq left.
"That was Kobe's team who was up 3-1 against the Suns and losing. Kobe hasn't even written chapter one yet."
That's a lot of general hating. I like how you apply one game to his entire career. What if I did that with Jordan? Believe me he had bad games. - haidalangara, on 03/05/2008, -1/+4seems to be JusticeFriend doesnt like verbs.
learn english fag. - DFrag, on 03/05/2008, -0/+3Yes, Kobe is awful. (yeah, right) I second and third that emotion.
Playing team basketball this year is over rated too. (Lakers are playing team basketball)
You know what's in style? Hating on someone/a team who is on a hot streak and playing great basketball.
I've been a fan of the Lakers through thick and thin, ever since the Magic Vs. Bird days. I'm ***** enjoying this year. Hate on hater. - adamchristopher, on 03/05/2008, -0/+2I still use your dairy queen glass on the daily.
- SubaruPowah, on 03/05/2008, -1/+3Hugs?
- ulmedas, on 03/05/2008, -0/+2How bout UFC?
- UglieJosh, on 03/05/2008, -0/+2None of your statements directly contradict mine. Yes, Jordan has the edge in all the intangibles. Jordan was the better basketball player, I never claimed he wasn't.
1 on 1 is a totally different game though and Kobe would beat Jordan in this area.
I mean, Pistol Pete was a better player than any point guard around right now (except maybe Nash) but most of them would beat Pete in a 1 on 1 game. - Jawkish, on 03/05/2008, -0/+2The white band is used to keep his shooting hand warm. Its like when you see players put on layers of clothes when they sit on the bench. same concept but he can now keep it warm no matter where he is. keeping your muscles warm avoids stiffness, which in result causes you to miss shots.
- emehrkay, on 03/05/2008, -1/+3This would still be illegal in football
