Haywood to LeBron: Stop whining and play ball
sports.espn.go.com — Overrated hasn't worked. Now one of the Washington Wizards is calling LeBron James another name: Crybaby. Following Cleveland's 100-97 win in Game 4 on Sunday, James, who has absorbed two flagrant fouls in this rough-and-tumble playoff series and has been banged around by the Wizards, was asked about Washington's tough-guy tactics.

- bamafun, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2yea but tech stories are 2 - 10 days old on the tech front page so you have to read other stuff too

- threemagic, on 04/29/2008, -2/+3Here.. sit down liquidtaco.. let me 'splain it to you.
first.. a daring, outgoing digger is bravely searching the outer reaches of the internet to find stories and pictures they think we'll find as funny.
second.. once found, the digger returns to digg and submits the link, typically ignoring all duplicates
third... other diggers, presumably only friends, spend their time digging it up... generally not caring what it is.
and finally.. once the GREAT AND POWERFUL ALGORITHM decides it has seen enough... It waves his mighty hand and poof...it becomes front page material.- liquidtaco, on 04/29/2008, -2/+1now i understand the ways of the internets

- OJdidntdoIT, on 04/29/2008, -7/+45ESPN: Hey Lebron, Haywood said stop crying and play ball.
Lebron: hay who? - TheDeadDodo, on 04/29/2008, -21/+1Lebron James is a great example of what can happen when a player buys into his own hype. He's very talented, sure...but given his ego you'd think he'd won 4 championships in a row already. As is, with the west being the way it is, I don't see him ever winning one unless he moves out there as a free agent or joins the Pistons or Celtics.
- akademiks, on 04/29/2008, -3/+0Agreed. What's even worse is that people actually buy into his ***** humble act.
I've met this ***** in person and he's truly a piece of trash. Only cares about himself.
What more would you expect from a guy who's goal for the Beijing Olympics is not to bring Gold back to the USA, but to make himself a worldwide icon and become the first billionaire in sports. - ninjasenses, on 04/29/2008, -0/+5I think it took Jordan 8 years to win a championship with the Bulls. This is Lebron's 5th season. And I don't think you follow the sport too closely seeing as both the teams you mentioned are tied in their series with the lowest seeded teams.
- akademiks, on 04/29/2008, -3/+0Agreed. What's even worse is that people actually buy into his ***** humble act.
- TimeIsTissue, on 04/29/2008, -17/+1I completely agrree.
"That was their strategy. Hurt Lebron"
WHINE, WHINE, WHINE - acid0426, on 04/29/2008, -5/+28Somebody should tell Brendan Haywood to play ball for the first time in his life. He's averaged ***** for his entire career.
- OrderlyChaos, on 04/29/2008, -0/+13Agreed. Maybe if the Wiz were actually winning the series and Lebron wasn't singlehandedly destroying them.... then you can talk *****.
- Boing, on 04/29/2008, -16/+3Anyone else love listening to Skip Bayless bash Prince James?

Indians?? HAHAHA!
Browns!!?? ROTFLMO.- charbo187, on 04/29/2008, -1/+5wow i mean cause it's not like the cavs were just in the finals last year or that the indians were one win away from the series last year or that the browns finished with a 10-6 record, same record as the eventual SB champs u stupid cumstain *****.
- wadge22, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2And he doesn't have a thing to say about the Buckeyes.
- OrderlyChaos, on 04/29/2008, -1/+3He didn't say next year ;) Out of the three, I'd say the Indians is most likely to happen. But whatever. We'll suffer still.
- toddsayshi, on 04/29/2008, -0/+5It's an exciting time to be a Cleveland fan!
- Aerandir, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1@ charbo187 & wadge22:

.......No??? AAAWWWW, that's a shame. Better luck next time. =)
- Aerandir, on 04/29/2008, -6/+2cavs? Hehe..
- satanatnmtedu, on 04/29/2008, -0/+10How about the irony of the Wizards talking like they own the place being down 3-1, and they don't know when to shut the ***** up? Haywood whines about Lebron. How sad.
- jpezzznuts, on 04/29/2008, -2/+2I was referring to the poor sentence structure followed by the "retards" comment (unless hes a cat). To Todd's comment: I agree, I don't think Cleveland has been this excited about anything since they overtook Columbus on the "Fattest City" list in 2006.
- gmkash, on 04/29/2008, -2/+8cavs are going to the finals, indians are going to the world series, browns are going to the super bowl

- mal1964, on 04/29/2008, -1/+8I'm not from Cleveland, And I don't give a flying ***** about your comment.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/29/2008, -0/+12Speak for yourself. I'm a tribe fan first, a Browns fan second, and a Cavs fan third, but LeBron James has brought more excitement to Cleveland than we may ever see again in our lifetimes.
- Wendigo6x3, on 04/29/2008, -0/+6seconded. born and raised in cleveland (suburbs lol), and lebron rules this city.

- CYR1X, on 04/29/2008, -4/+10I'd like to see Haywood take the beating that LeBron takes, let alone when has he even complained?
- charbo187, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2i would just like to see haywood take a beating.
- doralicia1970, on 04/29/2008, -2/+24James is a future hall of famer, he has already helped his team to an NBA finals series. Haywood has been a mediocre player on a mediocre team. He needs to spend less time bitching about Lebron and more time working on his game.
- orlandorays, on 04/29/2008, -2/+21Why do the Wiz's egos continue to write checks their team can't cash? Thrice-damned fools.
- gmkash, on 04/29/2008, -2/+19LeBron wasn't whining in any way. The wizards were employing a cheap strategy that didn't even work.
Stevenson, Haywood, and Gilbert are all bush league.
Its too bad Jamison and Butler have those hacks on their team. - bigjay8510, on 04/29/2008, -1/+15lebron expects to get fouled every time which he has learned to expect, but jesus get pushed out mid air and to get hit across the head? not to mention every time he just gets up and scores more. they are grown ass men and know how to take hits but not when your in mid air. the wizards are idiots i am tired of all the ***** they are saying, "overrated", look at his stats...
- threemagic, on 04/29/2008, -2/+29Ok.. so you are down 3 games - 1. You are going back to Cleveland to play your final playoff game on the road. What makes sense to this guy to do? Let me talk smack about one of the top 5 players in the NBA... nothing sealing your own fate.
- piXelatedEmpire, on 04/29/2008, -0/+9I have been amazed how much smack the Wizards have been talking all series. Seriously, why don't you do something in the playoffs before running your mouth.
- Kiwibomb, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3because that requires at least some amount of talent
- jefbob, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Not only that, but a player that responds on the court. Look at what happens when people call him out. Whether it be fans heckling from the stands or players talking trash before games, he comes out and shuts you up.....on the court.
- piXelatedEmpire, on 04/29/2008, -0/+9I have been amazed how much smack the Wizards have been talking all series. Seriously, why don't you do something in the playoffs before running your mouth.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/29/2008, -1/+25I guess Hillary Clinton isn't the only one employed in Washington resorting to whining when losing.
- Mahogany419, on 04/29/2008, -10/+2More like King Lames!
- dtraneighty8, on 10/07/2008, -0/+23Crybaby? Did he even watch the game? After Stephenson whacked Lebron upside his head, Lebron came back with a slam and a 3ptr 4 feet behind the 3pt line in dwight's face just for the hell of it. And when I say for the hell of it, I mean it. There was like 22 seconds on the shot clock and Lebron seen Dwight in front of him and just decided to sink a three. It was quite delicious...
- Wendigo6x3, on 04/29/2008, -0/+7i think you mean deshawn, but good point.

- Dralite, on 04/29/2008, -6/+1Sports? in my digg...Eh why not!
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/29/2008, -0/+9Cleveland needs to handle this the way the bulls did when they played the Cavs one year in the playoffs. Ferry fouled Jordan real hard in one of the games. Jordan knew that if he tangled with Ferry and they both got ejected, Cleveland would benefit. So once the series was in hand, they pulled Jordan and brought in 6'10" Stacey King. I'm still shocked that Cleveland didn't see what was coming and pull Ferry.
If the league is going to allow thugs like Stevenson go at LeBron, Cleveland might want to consider what the Bulls did.- ScottMitchell, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2Ah, good ol' Stacey King - The Enforcer. He'd ride the pine all game long, then you'd see him enter the game and you knew he would be on the court for about 30 seconds before being ejected for leveling a player from the opposing team.
Perhaps you don't see "enforcers" so much anymore because the League is quick to fine the enforcer several tens of thousands of dollars, which is usually a decent chunk of change for players making the league minimum (as most enforcers would, you'd think).

- phyx726, on 04/29/2008, -1/+8Wizards are cheapshot artists at best. Who knows what their coach is doing...
- yacks, on 04/29/2008, -0/+10Since when is stating the facts or opinion whining?
"I guess that's *WH*at they want to do," he said, "hurt LeBron James *IN* this s*E*ries. It's not working."
where is the whine in that? oh wait I found it.. but seriously. That's not a whine.. now this would be a while.
"They want to hurt me.. *cry* It's not right.. they need to stop."
Lebron was just stating what they are trying to do.. and say it's not working.. where is the whine in that? I really don't see any.unless there is more to that quote..- Emmo213, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Capitalizing whine in your post was lame, but your point stands. James was making a point, not whining.
- HouseofEl, on 04/29/2008, -0/+7Whining about winning the game....riiiiiiight. Someone needs to tell this douche that it's not whining when you win the game. I think he's the one that needs to shut up and play ball, because obviously that's what LeBron was doing all night.
- slaystench, on 04/29/2008, -0/+4How in the hell is reiterating what the wizards said they would be doing to him, whining? lol
- sryan8913, on 04/29/2008, -1/+6why does it offend people so much when someone makes a basketball post, I don't care about some guy in london who tagged a building with poetic anti-consumerism or the sexual innuendos of the star wars trilogy, we all have our interests
- kanariya, on 04/29/2008, -1/+6STFU Wizards.
- yoder141, on 04/29/2008, -1/+2The wizards are annoying me more and more every time I watch the games. I used to actually like Arenas he is an amazing player, but now I don't know.

- sryan8913, on 04/29/2008, -5/+3Arenas is better at Halo 3 than Lebron
- cheezintern, on 04/29/2008, -7/+1No blood no foul
- Starflyer59, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2The Wizards will pay. Lebron will take the day, I say, today, okay, yay!
- Zihuatanejo, on 04/29/2008, -8/+2Haywood is 100% correct. None of the basketball greats at any time ever complained like Lebron does. Lebron is one of the sickest players in the league and is a sure hall of famer, but he still has a lot of growing up to do.
- amatyarakshasa, on 04/29/2008, -0/+4Talking trash while getting his ass whooped on the court by King James: The high point of hay-who?'s career.
- adrenaline33, on 04/29/2008, -0/+234, 12, and 7....lets hear it Wizards fans.."overrated", right?
Retards. - hardom, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1I don't like the Cavs. I don't like LeBron, yet, I will admit he is putting the smackdown on the Wizards and its not pretty.. for them. I wish they would stop talking trash because its not making their situation any better. When they lose this series the sting of LeBron will fester and destroy this team.
- mojonandha, on 04/29/2008, -4/+1tatz right. Lebron is overrated. Maybe he won a few games but he can never win games like how kobe wins single handedly. GO LAKERS.
- yacks, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3The problem is that without Kobe, the Lakers can still win.. Without Lebron, the cavs just completely suck.. how's that saying Kobe wins games single-handedly? The Lakers do not need Kobe as much as the Cavs need Lebron.. Lebron basically wins them games.. Kobe just makes it easier.. and when was the last time the Lakers beat the Cavs anyways? Jan 12, 2006
- jankind, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Following Cleveland's 100-97... ... here it comes...
WIN - mcfly1204, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Given this is coming from Brenda "softer than a box of tissues" Haywood, um yea.
- joey368, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Just to think after hearing from Arenas and Stevenson, it's now Haywood's turn to hop into the Wambulence. If Cleveland is about to eliminate you for the 3rd straight year, boo hoo. Play better.
