- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -2/+25I also wanted to add that if you read the actual pdf of the exchanges,(the link is on the article) Norris if fact appears mentally unbalanced to some degree. Makes you wonder how he got where he was.
- Shaman760, on 11/21/2008, -0/+19No wonder our financial system is so *****. You have attorneys like this one pissing up Mark Cuban's rope? On taxpayer time no less.
What a prick. - inactive, on 11/20/2008, -2/+20If you download the pdf of the full email text including Cuban's it is Jeffrey Norris who looks like a complete moron. You would think it would a violation of some law for him to send political emails to Cuban from his SEC email address. At a minimum it is a breach of his fiduciary duty to his employer(The U.S. of A) as well as a using government resources for personal use. Note that Cox himself was copied on many of them and unless they built what is called a "Chinese wall" around Cox, his knowledge of the content of the emails may be imputed to his entire staff. If admissible they will severely damage the government case.
- Wryly, on 11/20/2008, -3/+21Billionaire goes to prison over loose change. You can't make this stuff up.
- richmomz, on 11/21/2008, -0/+15Slander the "elite" too much and this is what happens - just like the hit job they did on Elliott Spitzer when he set his sights too high up the Wall Street/banking food chain, or the Bush admin's "accidental" outing of Valerie Plame after her husband contradicted their assertions about WMD's in Iraq. Give them enough time and they will eventually find enough dirt to either discredit you, or put your career/life in jeopardy.
- heyblue, on 11/21/2008, -0/+14Norris comes off as a crazy jackass with a personal vendetta against Cuban in these emails. This can not be good for the government's case.
- broh, on 11/21/2008, -1/+12Norris needs to stop drinking the hatorade and do his freakin job.
- L0NER, on 11/21/2008, -0/+9So basically, this guy is obsessed with the Cuban?
- MalarkeyPN, on 11/21/2008, -1/+10Ha. Lemme guess, Norris is a Bush appointee?
What an unprofessional *****. - Xihix, on 11/21/2008, -3/+11***** the SEC, overrated as ***** conference...
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -0/+6Clearly this SEC guy is as big a douche as Cuban himself, but let's not discount the possibility that he actually did break the law.
- skored, on 11/20/2008, -1/+7funny comment but i am pretty sure this is a civil matter so he's not facing any jail-time
- kemp34, on 11/21/2008, -4/+10Most high level government employees are mentally unbalanced to some degree.
- MalarkeyPN, on 11/21/2008, -0/+5He got there because someone thought he'd do a heckuva job.
- richmomz, on 11/21/2008, -1/+6In light of other Bush appointees it appears that being "mentally unbalanced" could in fact be a pre-requisite for serving in the Bush admin.
- dafragsta, on 11/21/2008, -5/+10Tower 7 *****! Tower 7.
- h4sh1sh, on 11/21/2008, -4/+8Paraphrase:
"Jesus is a God, people on the left only think they are"
Yeah giving people the civil liberties that they deserve, caring about the environment and and making sure everything is running smoothly is soo un-christian like. Also it is ridiculous to compare any political notions of one group of people to a person 2,000 years ago (jesus being a left et cetera) much less 200. - akchrs, on 11/21/2008, -0/+4Email exchange.
Jeffrey Norris: Either you are really an anti-American ideologue or your allegiance to making money is significantly greater than your dedication to your country.
Mark Cuban: a/s/l ? - inactive, on 11/21/2008, -2/+59/11 Conspiracy Planner: What if some college kid analyzes old news footage, zooms in on grainy video stills, and uncovers our entire plot by reading old, unclassified government press releases and posts a video on the Internet, complete with spooky/mysterious sounding music?"
Dubya: GOD HELP US!
See: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=91 ... - bubba9999, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3It pisses me off that my tax dollars go to pay for this moron harassing people.
- BJF9999, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3He is not going to go to prison. The punishment is a fine. Martha Stewart went to prison because she lied and tried to cover up her insider trading.
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -3/+6Loose change is such crap. There is no way in hell 10 thousand participated in a farce and no one has published a book yet. No fireman has reported finding dynamite etc. If you believe loose change your a nutjob
- subterfuge, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2what do you mean? he's in the government. sounds like his natural occupation.
- muckemuck, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2... well.. if it's such obvious crap then why was Norris getting all worked up over it and trying to spend time deflating it? Let the people watch it and determine on their own if it just leads down the wrong rabbit hole.
Personally I think the Obsession DVD that was mailed out all over the US was much more damaging to the US than Loose Change.. I know about a dozen people who watched the Obsession DVD they received in the mail and believe the propaganda and - 0 - who watched Loose Change and believed it. - muckemuck, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2Maybe he wasn't in on the hoax and believes it to be exactly like he tells it. He's been known to repeat lies before (and reportedly believed them to be true).
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2So basically the whole thing is an internet lawsuit now?
- matt.rubin, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1whoa whoa whoa. Is this the same norris as the legend?
- Satyer, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1"I would love to continue this communication. Unfortunately, I have a responsibility to protect investors from fraud and I need to turn to that obligation."
I though this bit was particularly funny.
The SEC protecting Investors?... lulz - BertRussell, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1The SEC says that this person has nothing to do with the case (Cox claims to have not even met this guy Norris), yet many here are ready to jump on a conspiracy theory propagated to try to change the subject over the validity of whether Cuban is guilty of insider trading or not. If you really care about the truth of the case, how about waiting to see the evidence presented instead of automatically jumping up and down against the government just because it's the government. It's the oldest trick in the book.
- ColinCampbell, on 11/21/2008, -2/+3@canyonblue: It's a civil suit, not criminal. He can't go to prison.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Cuban#Insider_tr ... - benologist, on 11/21/2008, -2/+3If $750,000 is loose change...... spare some change mistah?
- hawksfan03, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1to mark cuban it is loose change $750,000 is 1/16 of 1% of his net worth.
- Kitymajere, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1This stuff only happens in the US of A. Cant make this ***** up.
- writer0213, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1Is anyone else tired of hearing about Cuban?!
- canyonblue, on 11/21/2008, -1/+1But her partner who WAS convicted of insider trading went to jail also.
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -2/+2OMG DUBYA STOLE TEH GOLDS
- rollin03, on 11/21/2008, -3/+3Cox is a fa* I wonder if his wife gives it to him in the butt at night with the American Flag to justify his Cuban Obsession?
- SiSePuede, on 11/21/2008, -1/+1I'd like to see the ever important Mark Cuban to Mark Cuban emails that he no doubt sends himself to stroke his ego. Those must be revealing in some soap opera way as well.
- solid12345, on 11/21/2008, -2/+2What I find hilarious is how people call Bush the dumbest president ever yet he was able to mastermind the greatest hoax in American history?
- ostkman, on 11/21/2008, -1/+0I'm tired of athletes making millions of dollars.
- flgood, on 11/21/2008, -2/+1Amen brutha. LOL @mm911
- ClevelandBrown, on 11/21/2008, -3/+2Rich people smell nice.
- elhaf, on 11/20/2008, -8/+7Cuban's a troofer? Say it ain't so!
Edit: guess not. R'ed TFA. - inactive, on 11/21/2008, -3/+2The only job done on Elliot Spitzer was a hand job by Ashley Dupre. He got what he deserved.
- fuzzmeister, on 11/21/2008, -2/+1Exactly. A conspiracy of such magnitude would involve literally thousands of people. It is absolutely impossible to keep that many humans quiet. Not just hard, impossible.
- akchrs, on 11/21/2008, -7/+6agreed.
- EASwanson, on 11/21/2008, -17/+15Anyone who believes anything in 'Loose Change' is a nut job.
- canyoodiggit, on 11/21/2008, -3/+1the loose change in my pocket is more important than this story
- jryder, on 11/21/2008, -2/+0Here's why they're digging you down:
"For his part, Cuban said he didn’t personally believe in the film’s content and said Norris was against an 'open market of ideas.'" - kidcodea, on 11/21/2008, -4/+2the paris hilton of tech is a complete *****.
