- ShingoEX, on 11/14/2009, -3/+36Didn't look like he dunked on anyone. Seems he went around and was challenged from the side. The term "dunked on" usually refers to a head on dunking over someone else in your way.
- zsavior, on 11/14/2009, -3/+34that wasn't dunk of the year, D Wade's Dunk kills that one still. When they played the Caves Wade humiliates Anderson Varejão. It was the definition of Posterize. This was good but not as good.
this is dunk of year
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uRN7iJ5CqQ - shaelen, on 11/14/2009, -2/+18Nice dunk.. but he *did* take 3 steps to get there. I guess "traveling" isn't illegal anymore.
- bigtimslim, on 11/14/2009, -9/+22meh
- crossmr, on 11/14/2009, -0/+12Its okay his agent booked ahead..
- troyfoley, on 11/14/2009, -1/+12Agreed. Mbenga barely contested him; I wouldn't even have classified that as a "dunk on".
Wade was chest-to-chest with Varejão and finished. Also loved how he made a point to nonchalantly step over Varejão legs afterwards. - sqtab, on 11/14/2009, -0/+8Have someone a foot shorter do that to you on the playground and see what people say.
- superharris5, on 11/14/2009, -2/+9Didn't he do some traveling there?
- TheSwashbuckler, on 11/14/2009, -0/+7Hasn't been consistently illegal in a long time. Jordan got away with that stuff all the time.
- anklesnap, on 11/14/2009, -5/+12Dunk of the Year! Good to see the little guy with a play like that after so many teams passed him over on draft day because of his size.
- sqtab, on 11/14/2009, -0/+5Looks to me like Mbenga (7'0") AND Powell (6'9") both got served.
- dgxshiny, on 11/14/2009, -0/+5too bad it was in garbage time. the game was well over by then.
- skippy562, on 11/14/2009, -0/+5not so special because dj always gets dunked on.
- troyfoley, on 11/14/2009, -1/+5David vs. Goliath: 5'11" Ty Lawson Dunks next to* 7' DJ Mbenga.
Fixed it for you. - colpridenyc, on 11/14/2009, -1/+5It was a pun, not a racist remark, Ty Law-Son, that one flew right by you didint it...
- phyx726, on 11/14/2009, -1/+5lol Lakers lost by 26
- TobiasParker, on 11/14/2009, -1/+4I used to think that until i started watching it. There is actually a ton of strategy involved, especially in regards to coverages and fouls.
The game is won or lost on the foul line, it is way deeper than first appearances suggest. - friday1970, on 11/14/2009, -2/+5Although I'm not a fan of basketball at all, I have to admit, that was a sweet dunk!
- jaykoo21, on 11/14/2009, -0/+3Had it not been for the hoop to fall back on, Varejao would've flipped over. Top 10 of all time.
- gllopc, on 11/14/2009, -3/+5I think it's the mere fact that a little man go into the paint and dunked where normally he would not have been allowed, or even attempted the feat. But yeah - he didn't really dunk on anyone.
- sqtab, on 11/14/2009, -0/+2Sickness.
- john2kx, on 11/14/2009, -0/+2too bad it didn't translate into a win.
- NowAndPresent, on 11/14/2009, -1/+3What do you mean calling a 5'11" kid not one of the shortest? The average NBA player is 6'8", and the average PG is 6'2". You can count on one hand the number of players in the league who are under 6 feet. It's pretty tough to get enough dunking space on the center for anyone, and flat-out monstrous for a guy who gives up 13 inches to the defender.
I will agree that DWade's dunk was better, as Varejao even had his shoulders square to Wade, but don't discredit Ty Lawson. - Whiteknight117, on 11/18/2009, -0/+2No this is a dunk on DJ Mbenga.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwyZD6HSXZU - phyx726, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1that was beastly
- MrTarHeel, on 11/15/2009, -0/+1TAR HEELS ALL DAY!!!!!!
- drewoconnor, on 11/14/2009, -3/+4i'm 185cm (6ft on planet usa) and this dunk was massive for a 5'11" player, but to call him one of the shortest players in the league is a bit of a stretch. Also, this won't be dunk of the year - d wade made me jump into the air off my couch with that nasty spectacle yesterday. varejao should just leave the NBA after that.
- umitseric, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1thats my boy ty
- JohnILM, 15 hr 36 min ago, -0/+1Could there be any more memos on that video?
- ShingoEX, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1What are you smoking?
- pintomp3, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Also, his arm when through the other two, not over.
- DRT23, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Eff of, streaming audio Edison ad.
- MonoDede, 14 hr 35 min ago, -0/+1Lakers? Don't you mean the L.A. Bryants?
- SPRFRKR, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Sadly, at 5'11", he towers over most people.
- RealDealRick, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Get off him!!
- JackG1980, on 11/15/2009, -0/+0probably because this is not a formal setting... its casual so one could type anyway he or she wants to. so go look for more periods that a missing
- xenakis, on 11/14/2009, -3/+3Travels and carries both have become so common place in the sport; it's rather pathetic.
- JackG1980, on 11/15/2009, -1/+1you are still on the internet?
- CLAWC, on 11/14/2009, -2/+1Yeah! Nuggets are going far this year. If that game foreshadows the rest of the season, expect some big wins. Seriously, who holds Kobe to ZERO points in a HALF?
- JackG1980, on 11/15/2009, -1/+0go play checkers
- thedogfatherx, on 11/14/2009, -3/+2The NBA is still on television?
- JackG1980, on 11/15/2009, -1/+0what does that have to do with the dunk?
- sqtab, on 11/15/2009, -1/+0The poster of Mbenga and Powell getting dunked on by some short dude.
- DonAlfred, on 11/15/2009, -2/+0no.
son and boy is racist remarks. - benenov, on 11/14/2009, -4/+2I don't know. I've never been able to find the excitement in these kind of dunks. basketball also died for me when michael jordan retired for the 2nd time
- JackG1980, on 11/15/2009, -3/+0YES he did... You must be a Faker Fan... Probably dont believe Kobe raped that girl, or Kobe elbows on purpose, or the refs love Kobe, or J. West really dit think he was making a fair trade, or the 2002 Finals wasnt fix. LOL
- sqtab, on 11/14/2009, -4/+0Such a hater.
Your man got dunked on (actually two of them). Accept it and move on. - smashTasker, on 11/14/2009, -5/+1I don't know, why don't you use proper capitalization or punctuation? The world may never know.
- chessthecat, on 11/14/2009, -10/+5How'd he dunk on him? He went right around him. I love sports and I'm not arguing that basketball players aren't extraordinary athletes but the game of basketball itself is a bit of a joke isn't it? There's just not a lot of substance in it.
- DonAlfred, on 11/14/2009, -6/+1"This should be against the law, son"
What a racist remark. -
