- Julie188, on 12/30/2008, -0/+30What a nice story!
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -2/+23Very classy, Dallas.
- mongo22, on 12/30/2008, -2/+23This is an awesome story, thanks for sharing.
- compgeek, on 12/30/2008, -1/+21Very very classy thing to do. As much as I don't support the idea of the Iraq war. Soldiers over there had no choice where they were sent and they are still heroes whether I support where they are or not. They did their jobs to the best of their ability and in this case paid terrible prices for their service to your country. This is a great thing the Mav's are doing and the season ticket holder that started it all deserves one heck of a standing O himself for this great idea
- d2002, on 12/30/2008, -4/+22Stay classy Dallas!
- MattFromSeattle, on 12/30/2008, -1/+16On Veteran's day last season at a Seahawks game, a group of vets were seated next to my brother-in-law and myself and everyone in our section couldn't stop thanking them and buying them beers. While you may not agree with or support the wars, one thing you can and should always respect and appreciate is the men and women in our military and the jobs they do. Kudos to those involved at the Mavs organization.
- oboshoe, on 12/30/2008, -4/+19Classy.
If it was San Francisco, they would have thrown peanuts (or worse) at the soldiers, as opposed to give them their seats.
Its nice to see a city that appreciates its military folks. - tulwave, on 12/30/2008, -1/+15very cool story. I like to see this type of thing. How many people would like to see the Yankees throw in a $billion worth of seats for a home game?
- urbandistrict, on 12/30/2008, -1/+12Dugg and I can't praise Cuban enough for this.
- DangerCollie, on 12/30/2008, -1/+10Thoughtful and classy. Two snaps up for Dallas fans.
- ElderBieler, on 12/30/2008, -3/+11You're such an ass****.
Get off your anti-war platform for a minute to respect these people. - ryan5billion, on 12/30/2008, -2/+9*****
- cocainxbluez, on 12/30/2008, -2/+9$1,700 for a seat? Sorry I know this is about something else but still, holy crap! That's ridiculous.
- cowboy86, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7^ Obviously a terrorist.
- Zegarek, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7As much as I hate Mark Cuban I have to say stories like this make me happy to be a Mavs fan, just excellent.
- theonlywizdum, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6I'd rip off his head and ***** down his neck. I really would. Theres a lot of unpopulated area in my state, lots of places to hide the bodies.
- cowboy86, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7 At least one team in Big D is keepin' it classy.
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7You assume that all of these soldiers joined the military after the US invaded Iraq.
Buried for logical fallacy. - oboshoe, on 12/30/2008, -2/+8Hey pintomp. My message has nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism...or politics. I wish I had the power to bring them home, but I'm just a digger on the Intenet. I know alot of you folks like to see everything through the lens of politics, but that's not a good way to live your life.
San Francisco is notorious for it hate on the military and military people. That was especially true in the Vietnam era and its still occurring today. Do some googling on it to see what I mean.
Whether you agree with the troops mission or not, we should support them. - oboshoe, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6@pintomp Sure. Bring them home and then spit on them.
Like I said. Do a google on what I suggested and please put aside your silly partisian thinking.. - oboshoe, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6@pintomp. forget it. If you really reviewed my profile you would know that you are incorrect.
In any event, I feel like I just tried to teach a pig to sing.
I am sorry to have annoyed you. - oboshoe, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6@pintomp
link please - WriterSD, on 12/30/2008, -1/+6That's wonderful!
- ElderBieler, on 12/30/2008, -2/+7Are you serious?
I honestly would punch you in your throat and then piss in your ears if I ever saw you in real life.
You sh**head. - chicagojack, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5One of the Best Sports Stories of the Year
- mrcaulfield, on 12/31/2008, -1/+5I've heard plenty of horror stories in which a troop was disrespected by some one who's against war.
Anti-war peeps ought to voice their frustration to politicians that are pulling the strings rather than those who follow orders. - boozedrinker, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4Very cool gesture of the Mavs fans!!!
- compgeek, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5as much as I don't support the war I'll bet most of the soldiers over there were probably military members pre 9/11 therefore they had no choice but to do as they were told. get off your high horse
- reaper527, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4The boston bruins do stuff like this all the time. none the less, great work dallas :)
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4Look at this idiot's account. Yes you "thisreallysucks". How many times have you been banned for hate trolling and come back under a new account? You can say "never" all you want but everyone knows you are full of *****.
- potshot, on 12/30/2008, -2/+6They volunteered to protect their country...
...you ass. - pseudononymist, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4"Shoot photos, not people"
-Dirty Hippie - blakelylaw580, on 12/31/2008, -1/+4My husband is career retired military. I read the story out loud to him & we both started getting choked. I live in the vast hinterlands (aka fly-over country), so I know what the good folks are capable of when it comes to the military, but this, this absolutely left me speechless. And that takes something.
- NuneTravels, on 12/31/2008, -1/+4Nice to hear something GOOD for a change!
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Props To EldeBieler! What a freaking loser!
- pintomp3, on 12/30/2008, -4/+7most of the troops are average hard working folk. many enlisted because of financial distress, many enlisted because they were lied to. all of them want to serve their country. they don't choose which wars they are sent to fight. hate the ones who needlessly put our troops in harms way. don't hate the troops.
- mrcaulfield, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3"Shoot heroine, not people."
-Druggy - tnoy, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3If they were military before 9/11, they would've re-enlisted after 9/11.
- ElderBieler, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3"nothing ever good has come from war..."
What was WWII. Our Military and commitment to declare war saved millions of lives. So you advocate that we should've sat back and watched Hitler occupy all of Europe and Russia? - RanchGuy, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Joined DIGG just to comment on this Asshat!
Just what have you done to protect freedom? These men and women give it all up so people like you can sit in your mother's basement and TROLL the internets. - fleischner, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Outstanding.
- demne, on 12/31/2008, -1/+3NHL teams have been doing it for a few years. A simple gesture that goes a long way.
- urbandistrict, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Well it was the brain child of Hawks so he should get first mention. Point taken.
I know nothing of the movie you speak of. I will say that I would very much doubt he's anti-american because he himself is an American. - inactive, on 12/31/2008, -2/+4Haha - so show me HOW this war is "illegal".....just because your dope smoking technicaly and legally challenged buds say it is? Tell me how and when these soldiers have "gotten their asses kicked"? More dopey propoganda from your illiterate pot head friends? The only "idiots" on this forum are people like you with no morals, no education, no critical thinking skills, no leadership ability, a propensity for anonymously and cowardly calling others immoral and ill informed. You are the perfect exampe of what is wrong, not the brave, articulate, well educated, confident and resourceful soldiers sailors and marines of the United States. Eveyone of them will kick your ass on any competition you choose.
- deema1, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3Awesome!
- JerkNowitzki, on 12/30/2008, -3/+5"Shoot baskets, not people"
-Steve Nash, 2003 - tnoy, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2He's referring, I would assume, to Cuban's role in helping finance the movie Redacted.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0937237/ - Blandyman, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2I wanna a pink unicorn fly in my window and give me a 4-foot long Snickers bar.
Unfortunately, dreams can't come true :( -
