- rig0rmortis, on 01/25/2009, -0/+37I was in the student section and saw that stomp as it happened. Most of the crowd didn't see it until there was a replay but it was obviously flagrant and the crowd was PISSED. It took the refs 10 minutes to decide to throw him out and then they T'd up Budinger as well, crazy game. Btw, the guy who was ejected got high-fives from his teammates and pats on the ass as he was escorted out of the arena (he was smiling). Classy University of Houston...
- socomoddjob, on 01/25/2009, -0/+14no class.
- rynsa, on 01/25/2009, -0/+10Geez... can you slow down on the whole race riot, call-to-arms business?! Some punk kid ***** up and got kicked out of inter-league college basketball game. That's it. You write like you're editing the sports chapter in "Mein Kampf, V2."
- watcht, on 01/25/2009, -1/+9Way to be a paranoid bigot...
- shkibb, on 01/25/2009, -0/+8that hurts just looking at it
- PleasantKiller, on 01/25/2009, -0/+7i beg to differ
- markeyboy123, on 01/25/2009, -1/+8Very poor sportsmanship on the "stompers" part, but I don't think it was a "white vs. black" issue.
- superterrorizer, on 01/25/2009, -0/+4He should have been ejected from the team and his scholarship revoked. There was intent to injure, not only pride, but he could have broken the guys neck or stepped on his throat.
- JakeW, on 01/26/2009, -1/+5No it isn't. He's black.. he couldn't possibly have any racism.
Racism is only for white people, you know that. - ryanhayn, on 01/25/2009, -0/+4He obviously didn't know Obama was elected president.
- ricker2005, on 01/25/2009, -2/+5Shut the ***** up, you racist git. Christian Laettner stomped on Aminu Timberlake in 1992. He wasn't even ejected from the game.
- rframpton, on 01/25/2009, -4/+7That's a hate crime!
- jeremyosborne81, on 01/26/2009, -1/+4If I were the athletics director, I'd suspend him for play for the rest of the season INCLUDING March Madness. Then, next season he'd be at least third string. *****.
- mike23w, on 01/25/2009, -1/+4You have to get up throwing punches at Coleman; even if it means getting an ass kicking.
- AnthonyC, on 01/25/2009, -1/+4Whats with cheap shots and college sports this weekend?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zslb7M83YIU - rynsa, on 01/25/2009, -1/+3Oi... When it rains it pours, I guess. What happened to my Wildcats? Now even their press is bad!
- deema1, on 01/26/2009, -0/+2While it would seem that the sonofabitch didn't set out to curb stomp the guy simply because he's white, the action was incredibly horrible and disgusting. And the fact that he and his teammates would gloat about this is all the more offensive. This could have easily become something much worse.
However, if you aren't willing to admit that the public outrage would be different if a white player did it to an african-american player then you're a delusional fool. It's sad to say but this kind of thing is a double standard here in America. You may not like me or others pointing it out but it is a fact. Hopefully this Houston player gets the punishment he deserves. - drifter, on 01/26/2009, -1/+3That's because a black kid did it, but if it was the other way around. I could easily see some saying racism is alive and well.
- wakeboardertj, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1Can take the thug out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the thug
- rynsa, on 01/26/2009, -1/+2There is so much racism on this list, it's stunning.
Some of you guys need to take a step back, get ahold of your pathetic white rage, and take a look at the bigger picture. Sports sometimes begets thuggery. That's it. The kid didn't post some hate-filled, black power manifesto on his website before the tip or something. He just made a stupid move in the heat of the game and was summarily ejected. Issue over.
Try to calm down, y'all. Or at least refrain from talking so much ***** about black folk. All this foolishness is giving us ballers a bad name. - rynsa, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1My apologies. Clearly Digg can accept people who are not smart, regardless of their native language.
- rynsa, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1Go learn English... you're embarrassing yourself.
- jec68, on 01/25/2009, -1/+2Sick volleyball player.
- quomen, on 01/25/2009, -0/+1I miss the U. of A.
- Chaserloser, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1i don't give a ***** about English, you saying Digg can only accept smart people? beside English is not my first language so ***** off.
- drifter, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1I'd have to agree, not trying to e-thug it out, but fact is even if the kid beat my ass, i'd atleast try and get a punch in. He just stepped on your face, plus there are refs there to break it up.
- JerzyBricklayr, on 01/25/2009, -2/+3balls.... 57 min. to late.
- LiquidSpark, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1Agreed. The kid should have got up swinging. No matter what happened. He shouldn't have let him get away with that.
- gunit99, on 01/27/2009, -0/+1STFU with the racial crap already. Please.
A man intentionally stepped on another man's face in a basketball game, and it was obviously intentional. That's it. It's disgusting, despicable, and the low-life thug piece of ***** should have immediately gotten beat to a bloody pulp for it, then suspended for the season. You can break someone's neck like that, ruin their face for life...totally inexcusable act of violence.
But all the "oo what if it was a white guy who stepped on a black guy's face" needs to ***** stop. - wakeboardertj, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1sadly, he's correct. Al Sharpton would be all up in this biz if it was reversed.
- LMControl, on 01/26/2009, -1/+2Wow... dude pulled a Laettner.
- inactive, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1Well there's no question that it was intentional. Classless and cowardly behavior from a low life. But what makes this even worse is that his own head coach, Tom Penders is also defending Coleman's actions, trying to convince the public that it was indeed just an accident. If you want to sound off to the university's basketball coaching staff, have at it here: http://uhcougars.cstv.com/staffdir/hou-staffdir.ht ... They need to know how classless their entire organization is.
- rynsa, on 01/26/2009, -1/+2You guys are so tragic. Do you need a hug or something?
This is basketball, y'all, not the ***** United Nations. ***** happens. Violence in sports doesn't always have to be imbued with some dastardly political implication. Sometimes a cigar is just a... well, a foot in the face. - Toastercactus, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1............................................________

- Tweets, on 01/26/2009, -1/+1Could have been worse. Could have hockey.
- NickLindeman, on 01/26/2009, -1/+1Must have been watching American History X before the game.
- dramafree1, on 01/27/2009, -0/+0Unbelievable. What do you people think would have happened differently if it were reversed and the black player was stepped on? I happen to believe the white player would have been ejected and blacks would be on this site talking about hate crimes. So there wouldn't really be much different.
What that man did was uncalled for and he should be suspended. Not because he's black and the other guy was white but because it was wrong and there is no place for that kind of violence on the basketball court or any where else. - shortsellit, on 01/25/2009, -1/+1If you had seen where these athletes from U of Hous grew up, no big surprise here.
- duckmanneo, on 01/26/2009, -0/+0I think Aubrey Coleman needs a "Coming To Jesus Meeting"
My football coach used to say that. - mike23w, on 01/26/2009, -1/+1"Chase Budinger's face is not a doormat!"
Yes it is, that's what the video showed. - HanSolo69, on 01/25/2009, -2/+1Best sports story to ever hit digg.
