Depends, since someone may have a concealed weapon for safety, and the fact that they are in a vehicle may have nothing to do with transporting much of anything, If anything the law needs to be changed if people want concealed carry.
I'm not sure about open carry though, or whether someone with open carry just happens to be driving somewhere, and whether you could argue that someone carrying a non concealed weapon is transporting it if they are driving somewhere.. - ZWarren69, on 09/19/2009, -2/+11I don't know why the liberal media isn't reporting this. I ride a motorcycle quite a bit, and wanted to shoot a gun at the range, and figured "what the heck, I'll take my bike". Well, to make a long story short, I called the police and asked.
LOCK your gun in something (even a gun lock is allowed), they sell locking cases for guns that are small.
Do NOT have it loaded,
Have your clip and ammo in a separate "container" and it can even be tupperware.
I asked a some people at the firing range about what if I wanted to take a shotgun somewhere on my bike, and there was a local yokel there.
He had no idea how to correctly answer, but figured if he were to pull me over and I had it strapped to my back loaded, I'd be going to jail. If it wasn't loaded and I couldn't put the ammo in it while riding, it'd be ok.
